Trouble is swirling about on all sides. Times are perilous. There is a whirlwind of principalities.
God has picked me up and placed my in the palm of his hand. Though the storm rages without, I am fully protected in him. He has given me his peace. I rest in him. All is well.

Most people have heard of selective hearing. That process which enables one to hear what they want to hear and nothing else.

Selective Holiness is pretty much the same thing. One has conquered some of the old man's ways and perhaps one is satisfied with this and dosen't really want to go deeper. Maybe the Holy Spirit of God keeps tapping one on the shoulder and keeps knocking on the door of our hearts. Yet will we will answer the call?

To this I can only say: Choose Christ! Go deeper into HIM. Time is short. We have little time left to play games. He may ask for all.It is our choice. We have freewill in how deep our relationship with the Lord shall become. He does not hold back. What a Mighty God He is!!

Which Posts Will You Read? Jan 4, 2009 9:31 pm

Hello Saints of God,
Today I had a little time to be at B.C. so I looked through the titles to the posts and just sort of picked some that looked interesting. I often try to read as many as possible, but very often find myself with time constraints.

Generally I read perhaps half of what is posted. Often I choose to read posts that I know will have a good word, or encouragement or prayer requests or requests for advice. Posts can be classified by genre. Mostly, here at B.C. there is limited genre but still squiggle room to have preferences.

This evening I came across a worthy post of high encouragement. There's no train wreak, no inhouse fighting, just plain ole encouragement and some scripture.

Are you a hugger? Jan 3, 2009 11:26 am

I am so a hugger and actually have to check myself when around folks since not everyone likes to be hugged or touched. Recently, I met a package delivery service man at the fire station to pick up a package since the snow was too deep for him to deliver to homes. We chatted and I sympathized with him for his job and offered him a tip. He would not take the tip but he reached over and patted my shoulder. Ah ha, I thought-this guys a hugger.

Then there are folks that just can't handle that much touching. Like my Mom and a couple of other family members.

It is hard for me to keep my hands off people when I care for them. How about you? Willing to share? God Bless You.
I am very demonstrative and affectionate.
I am moderately "huggie" with really close friends.
I prefer noone in my personal space.
Other? Explain?

Not Acceptable Prayer So God Won't Answer! Jan 2, 2009 7:31 pm

Your prayer must be pious sounding! Lots of thees and thous and all that KJV language.

It must be eloquent and loooong! It is best to be prostrate but being on the knees will suffice, as long as it hurts.

Must have the eyes closed and hands clasped in a pious manner.

When rebuking the enemy, be sure to shout loud enough that he can hear you!

Okay Okay, you see where I'm going with this.

So my point is this, he hears even our thoughts. He knows our hearts. We can talk to our dear Father intimately. We cannot impress him with our prayers...yet we can move him. He knows we are weak, and often scared and desperate even, and he hears the love, the need and desire in our hearts. What a mighty and awesome God we serve.

He adores our praise to HIM! This is the sacrifice he accepts.

I admit this: sometimes the spirit urges me to pray for someone and during a conversation, there is a prayer in my heart happening while at the same time we may be discussing work things, or other.

Of course, we should be instant in prayer. Never hesitate! Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.Eph. 6:18

What A Crazy Day! Jan 2, 2009 5:48 pm

Hello Everyone,
Not crazy crazy, but somewhat out of the ordinary. First of all, I have very- very long hair and I skidded downtown and got some layers! It still looks as long but in all truth on top there is about an 8 inch layer where it was all 23 inches long everywhere before. Most people wouldn't really notice.

Secondly, the streets of the city are really really bad, and have huge holes or is it lots of build-up spots of ice and tons of icy washboard. I was driving right along side a bus when suddenly the two lane ended (too much snow) and that bus was not going to give an inch so he edged me to a standstill mid intersection. I didn't get upset though, the going has been rough.

Praise God because we made it home safe and sound and curry and rice is simmering away and there's a new Clint Eastwood movie coming up in two weeks that promises to be the ginchiest.

God Bless you friends of B.C. Saints. Love you.

I can't sleep as sometimes happens. This time it's because of the terriffic amount of snow on my roof. Tomorrow, the crew will arrive to take it down, but in the meantime the nearly 3 feet of wet snow creaks occasionally and reminds me that about 25 buildings have collasped in the last two days. I had to buy two new brooms from sweeping off car, sidewalks etc. and there's not a snowshovel to be found in the greater inland empire.

Everyone is exhausted with the effort to keep the white stuff where we want it. We went for a walk tonight and it was indeed, a glorious sight. It looked like the world has been frosted with a delightful vanilla icing and someone powder sugared the trees. I think we are getting the girls this weekend and I have a mind to roast marshmallows outside over a fire.

It's back to work on Monday, so not as much time to blog. Still I will try to check in every day and see how my friends are doing. Just a little ramble. Blessed New Year all.

My Reputation Jan 1, 2009 11:32 am

As an Ambassador for Christ, it is critical that we have a good reputation in our communities. Outside the four walls of the church building lies a world of skeptics. It is no secret that most of the world does not believe in Christianity. We who do believe remain on Earth to spread the good news, to be salt and light, and to bring God’s blessings to a dying world.

Even a child makes himself known by his actions, whether his deeds are pure or right.Proverbs 20 verse 11 KJV

An elder, or overseer must meet these qualifications:
1 Timothy 3
Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

My friend who was unsaved once said to me: Joe the barber was oh so religious, always talking about the Lord, then he cheated on his wife! She was very disgusted. I told her that Christians are not without sin but they are forgiven when they repent.

If a person has a bad reputation even that can be changed. When one begins to walk in the light, they are in the light.

As the standard of the Lord, we need to be rich in love, ready to pray and go the second mile, non-gossipers, and full of integrity.

A living, walking talking witness for our King!

The New Year's Night Watch Dec 31, 2008 11:49 am

It is proclaimed across the nation and a very large segment of young & not so young people will set out tonight to get drunk. One of my own family members announced this intention. My neighbors have been rip-roaring drunk for most of the week and no doubt tonight will exceed their previous amount of drunkeness for the occasion.

These types of celebration always remind me of orgies and wanton godlessness. In the ten commandments (movie) when Moses went up the mountain the people got tired of waiting and made a golden calf and began to party. It was no time to party.

My family will celebrate the birthdays of three children this month with cake and ice cream and presents and a few friends and family. I am not against celebrations.

I am concerned for the folks who will out tonight and getting drunk. We will spend our evening in prayer (off and on) that the Lord God will move on the hearts of those who are not in the sheep fold. Our wonderful savior wants all men to be saved. He said so. Please join me in prayer today. Thank you precious Saints of God. Blessed New Year!

Intercessory Prayer Dec 30, 2008 3:06 pm

To intercede means to plead or mediate on behalf of another person. Intercessory prayer means praying earnestly for the needs of others, and seeking God's will for their life. We are called to intercede for others, just as Jesus is interceding for us (Hebrews 7: 25).

Here are a few things I learned in my years of interceeding on others behalf.

Be Sincere and from the heart.
Prayer is a sacred responsibility, and we need to treat it as such. Samuel told the Israelites, "Far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you." (1 Samuel 12:23) If you're not sincere, don't bother.

Be Discreet
If you've ever had your personal life spread all over church, or here at B.C., you know how hurtful a little gossip can be. Here's a simple rule for any effective intercessor. Assume every prayer request offered by a friend is for your ears only, even if they don't actually say so. If you belong to a prayer group, you might ask the person if they mind you sharing their request so others can pray, too. Even if they respond positively, refrain from telling the group any more than is absolutely necessary. My mentor gave this confidentiality teaching much due regard, and with very good reason. We must be discreet!

Be Sensitive
Often, when people have just suffered a traumatic event, they're exhausted. While we are very concerned for others, there's no reason to make them relive the ordeal by asking a lot of questions. All we really need to do is let them know we love them, and we're praying.

Be Encouraging
An encouraging word or a sympathetic whisper promising to pray for someone can brighten a dreary day and lift a weary heart. A simple offer to pray can be an incredible source of encouragement to anyone going through a physical, spiritual, or emotional struggle. And through the week, when they become discouraged, they can remind themselves that "Someone is praying for me!"We must take this seriously.

Keep A system so as not to be distracted, and use whatever works for you. For me, lighting a candle for the person I am praying for acts as a gentle reminder each time I pass the flame. I will pray often this way.
So often we glibly promise to pray for someone - and we really mean it - but somehow we don't seem to get around to it. When you make a commitment to pray for someone, write it down or do what I have done: use a rolodex but instead of phone numbers put the persons name or picture or business card. There are so many who need prayer. With the pressures of daily life, prayer often gets pushed to the back burner. The nudging of our conscience can be drowned by the screams of a television or stereo or the demands of people. But no matter what your work schedule is, you can find time to pray.

Be Committed and Make Time to Pray.
If you consistently have trouble making time for prayer, find a partner and hold each other accountable. Even if you don't have the time to pray together, just remind each other regularly of your commitment to pray. In promising to pray for someone, you've made a sacred commitment. Let us be totally committed.

Almost the New Year, and I ask Blessings and increase for you.

God is speaking to us
Not through the elite
not through the educated
not through the beautiful
not through the fancy (though he may, if he so chooses)

Not through the loud talkers
Not through the colorful
Not through the strong
Not through the fast(though he may, if he so chooses)

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are;
That no flesh should glory in his presence.
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption;
That, according as it is written, He that glorienth, let him glory in the Lord. 1 Cor. 27 - 31

Many God called to follow after him would not have won any contests, were not great speakers, were not above average in any way.

God does and will talk to us through anybody and anything, of course, he does what he wants. Hearken unto the words of the Lord.

Bless you Saints of God
