It is appointed to man once to die May 29, 2008 5:20 am

The resurrection is a respecter of persons! Those who have by faith put their trust In Jesus Christ in dying in their place for their sins and rising from the dead for their justification will rise in the first resurrection those who have not will come in the second. One will be a resurrection of inexpressible joy and the other will be the most frightening day of their lives when they stand before God and Jesus will examine every aspect of them including their thought lives! Nothing shall be hidden and what was done in secret will one day be yelled out at the roof tops! None of us want to see any of our loves ones there and I'm convinced that neither does God but wants to use you, me and others throughout our lives not only by what we tell them but by how we live!!! Thats our greatest wittiness to those who know us best being our families and love ones not going to church or quoting scriptures at them but a truly changed and transformed life this they cannot deny and will have more of an effect than we could ever possibly know that the Holy Spirit wants to use in bringing them to the truth of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus! People, your love ones are watching you to see how you respond and react in life are we really trusting and believing that God is with us and that Romans 8:28 is true or do we look at each trial as they do with complaining and grief? Faith, true faith is mutually exclusive with fear and unbelief you can't have them both in your heart at the same time. Which one is your family and friends seeing in you when life's difficulties come your way? They are watching you/me make no mistake about that!!! Lord help us all to remember nothing absolutely nothing happens by chance to those of us who know You, who are known by You!!! Help us not to do as the children of Israel did in the wilderness by complaining constantly always looking back to Egypt [sin] and not forward [promised land] to all the great things You are going to continue to do in our lives if we only trust and obey!

How Much Does That Brain Cost? May 29, 2008 4:39 am
331 Views
There's a sad story of a man who was involved in an auto accident recently and suffered irreversible brain damage in fact his brain was nearly completely destroyed. The doctors told his family the sad news but also gave them some hope when they said that they had just discovered how to do brain transplants and just happen to have two brains available but the family would have to decide which one they wanted to put into their love one! They told them the first one was that of another man and the cost of that brain would be $10,000 dollars and the other was that of a woman and was priced at $1,000 buckaroo's. well they were so happy to hear this but were perplexed at the vast differences in the costs of the two different brains and asked why? Was it because this being a "mans world" naturally that would make his brain so much more expensive than that of the female brain? Well not exactly one of the doctors finally blurted out you see our hands are tied in that we are bound by federal law seeing that the females brain has actually been used so we can't sell it off as a brand new never been used before brain as we can with the mans!!!

OK Lets have A Spelling Contest May 27, 2008 6:20 pm

I've been given a really bad rap around here lately from a couple of "young ladies" and I'm using those two words in the broadest and most libral way possible. Anyway I'd like to not only see Penelope and Susan stand up and tell us how to spell the words I'm going to give you but everyone else too coz I think there might be more than a few that use the spell checker before posting and it's high time we found out who is or is not doing that

Heres how we'll do it since I can't actualy spell out the words myself, no not for the obvious reason, but it would be pointless if they were written down here so I'll describe what I want you to spell kinda like charades ok? Oh one other thing I'll be the one and only judge and jury here since it's my post and my decision is final OK put those thinking caps on and remember this is not an open book test so no cheating by looking up the words or using spell checker

1. the first word will be the easiest, we all learned it in 2nd. grade...It's the name of a southern state and also the biggest river we have here in the states flowing noth to south into the gulf of Mexico!

2. This ones a little harder it's a kind of metal that we buy in the super markets thats rolled up in a box and I think the name brand is Reyolds and we wrap it around food to store in the fridge.

3. this one is harder yet still It's the name of the doctor one might go to if they're needing mental or emotional help and we nicked them "shrinks" you know where you go and lay down on their couch and they tell you how screwed up you are oh I want the one that has to go to more schooling to get the degree!

4. I'm going to spell this one the only way I know how but it wont even be close so I won't give anything away....Alburkirkkee as in that city in New Mexico

5. OK heres the reaaaaaly tough one and some of you may complain it's not even a real word...tough!!! It's my spelling contest so her goes...spell that word from the Mary Popins movies which starts with "supercala...... you get the idea now don't you

there you go now remember no cheating so lets see what you all got

A short and quick post about forgiveness May 27, 2008 6:45 am

Coz I'm late for work1 I just want to say how good and right and pleasing to God it is to forgive each other for the wrongs we have had done to us or to seek forgiveness for what we did to others! Think of all what God forgave us for then with that in mind think again of the petty little things we pridefully hold on to against others! We have no right not to forgive in light of the Cross! Thank you Kim for knowing and demenstrating this to me

Please Keep Elsie Mae White In Your Prayers May 25, 2008 5:55 am

She's a beautiful 91 year old nearly blind woman that lives on my mail route. I park my jeep right in front of her apartment all day to deliver my route in 4 different directions from there and Elsie lets me use her restroom [about 3 or 4 times a day] and lets me keep my water bottles in her freezer to keep them cold during the warm seasons. I love this woman and so does everyone who has had the pleasure of knowing her never complaining about anything her outlook on life is beautiful because she loves Jesus so very much! She has lifted many of the prayer request up here on B.C. including Eli, you many times Penelope and now recently Matt and Netty in their desire to marry one another.

When I go in to see her she has asked me to just knock once and walk in letting her know who it is and I usually find her sitting at her piano playing the old hymns which she plays so well and was always in music ministry during her church days before her advanced age prevented her from attending or else sitting listening to a Braille book tape that I'm always delivering to her or a Bible program on the radio. This woman is a truly a treasure and a gem and if any of you could meet and talk with her you'd fall in love with her immediately as all the rest of us have.

The other day Daisy a friend and care taker to the woman who lives next door found Elsie still in bed unable to get up due to shortness of breath and chest pain so paramedics were called and she was taken to the hospital and placed in the Intensive care unit where they found some water in her lungs and were concerned about congestive heart failure. Daisy was able to get in and see her by telling the nurses she was family which is kind of funny coz she is hispanic and Elsie is as white as a ghost even having the whitest hair you ever saw Daisy said she was very tired and didn't know anything other than what I said above and was concern and told me that Elsie asked her to make sure that I knew what had happened to her. God bless her sweet heart I decided then and there that I too would go to hospital after work and tell them I was her 35 year old younger brother which wasn't a lie if you consider we are family in God's kingdom and thats the only family that will continue to live throughout all eternity.

I did get in to see her and I was glad to see they had moved her out of ICU and into a room without the need of constant care and monitoring so I knew she was improving a little bit. We were having a nice time talking all though she wasn't able to sit up and I could see that she was still so very tired but her spirit was just the same and was telling me if this was God's timing then she was more than ready to go but if not was hoping to go home soon because she said although the food was good there is no place like home!

The doctor came in while I was there and told her that there was no damaged done to her heart that they could tell and she would be allowed to get up out of bed when she liked which made her happy coz she didn't take to using a bed pan very well and may even be released from the hospital Sunday today. This of course made her very happy to hear but right after the doc left I asked if she she'd like to go back to sleep like I found her when I arrived and she said yes because she was very tired. I'm a little worried about how drained she is it's so unlike Elsie and even though Daisy and I will be able to keep a check on her during the day no one will be with her during the nights. This woman, this beautiful sister in the Lord would lift you and your needs up before God so please remember to pray for her and her complete recovery. I'm hoping she'll become one of the many centurions that I have had the pleasure of knowing in Leisure World including Marion Higgins who lived to be 112 years old and I had the pleasure of meeting when she was still at the young age of 110 and her niece asked me if I'd like to meet her and I said yes I would. Well she told me to speak slowly and loudly and when I went in she was sitting in a wheel chair with these great big head phones on listening to a Bible study and when she took them off I said Marion I'm honored to meet you I've never met anyone 110 years old before and she she just smiled and looked up at me and said neither have I! God bless the aging Saints of God they have so much love to share with us

Eli has asked me to post for her and ask everyone to keep her and family in prayer. May 24, 2008 6:12 am

I talked with Eli on the phone yesterday and she told me that her nephew finally turned himself into the authority's the other day after 4 arrest warrants were issued against him. These are very serious charges against him including assault and robbery and he no doubt will be facing some prison time for them. The young man is only 18 years old but has has a history of drug abuse which has been a big factor in leading him down this path of destruction. There's other factors too including Eli's sister [who is a christian] and brother in law [who isn't a christian] and another child in the family and they have all been evicted from where they lived due to the fact that the dad here will not go out and find work which is there for him in his trade as a plaster but would rather drink and gamble as his family is being torn apart and neither he or Eli's sister are looking at the events transpiring before them with their oldest son who is now in jail in a responsible way but are in denial that he is responsible or at fault in all of this. Please pray that God will give the Judge the wisdom and guidance when he sentence's him and that God will begin to speak to his heart as he is sitting in jail and that the Lord will protect him while he is incarcerated.

Eli led this boy to the Lord when he was much younger and loves not only him but the whole family so dearly and is the only one standing in the gap for the Lord and speaking truth to all of them and they are hating her for it which is breaking her heart. Please remember them all and I will be giving up dates so that we can all cover this family with our prayers!

When God speaks to You and gives you a promise. May 21, 2008 7:46 pm
504 Views
Whenever the Lord speaks to you concerning personal matters in your life when you believe Him it leads you to a place of peace, a place of rest, and a place of confidence. If you don't believe His word to you then it leads to a place of doubt, confusion, and anxiety when it comes to His personal promises to you in your life. Even if we don't always take Him at His word to us and begin to doubt He is still going to be faithful in what He has said but we are going to ripped off by losing out in the joy and confidence we would have had in the process had we kept believing. God word is good and He will keep His word to us in whatever He tells us. When we have turmoil and begin to doubt if we would only just look back and connect the dots we would see that we have began to doubt all what He has told us which often times results in our trying to fulfill His promise and that always ends in one great big mess and the promise to Abraham and Sarah about her having a child in her old age is a classic example and you'll only create problems for yourself.

When you go that place of saying God this is your word, this is your promise to me, I'm going to trust and wait for you to accomplish all that you've said to me then you'll be doing what God delights in by resting in Him and knowing He will do all that He has said and He will bring it to pass. That is the one thing that God delights in most of all and again we can go back to Abraham and see that because He believed God it was accounted to Him for righteousness, He believe God and took Him at His word.

So as God has spoken to you! You know those promises that He gave you personally, those things He has put into your heart that He is going to do for you, with you, or through you whatever the promise is no matter where you are in that season of seeing it come to pass don't give in or give up but keep trusting and believing what God has promised you. We all can begin to think did God really say this to me? Did He really speak to my heart concerning what He was going to do for me? We all do this because when God gives us a personal promise He does this strange thing, then He lets things go in the complete opposite direction of the way you think they would go based on what He has told you! Not only does He allow everything to go in the wrong direction but He even seems to back away from the whole situation as well!

So there you are in the middle of confusion and every things black and you begin to say Lord what's going on I thought we were going to go this way and that was going to happen but everything is going in the complete opposite direction? This is a reality that happens in the lives of God's people. Think about what happen to the Jews living in Egypt and when Moses told them he was sent by God and He was going to deliver them so Moses then goes to Pharaoh and after telling him this everything got worse not better for God chosen people. After the people told Moses to leave them alone he was only making their captivity worse Moses went back to God and said Lord what's going on I thought You were going to deliver them and sent me to accomplish this? We know the end of the story and how God kept His promise and this happens to us individually too God will give us a promise then will allow everything to go in the opposite direction because He is testing us to see if we are going to believe Him and take Him at His word or look at the impossibility of the situations transpiring after the promise is given. It's a test of faith and God wants us to take Him at His word. If God has spoken to you and given you His promise don't get discourage and become disbelieving when It all seems to be falling apart but continue to wait upon Him to answer you! He will!!!!

Have you ever spoken by phone to any of the wonderful Aussies Matilda May 18, 2008 11:47 am

Well if you've had then you will know what I mean when i tell ya just how fun and beautiful it is to hear them speak I could listen to them talk about nothing all day long which is really great coz thats all they talk about anyway, nothing!!! Only kidding I hope you know but I've notice that when they wish to say no they don't do it like we here in the states do. Nope not Eli nor Penelope when they wish to say no it's more like nooooooooooooul They both do this the no is draged out for about 3 or 4 seconds and there's an that "ul" sound to the end of it Then there's the word heart, again not anything like what we say here but it more like....it's your hearrrrt Greg, it's your hearrrt You gotta put a couple more r's into it Now sweet Netty she has one of the most loveable Aussie accents of them all which in no way diminishes the beauty of those two sweethearts mentioned above it's just that she being so young and having a gift to sing well all I can say is that she and Matthew will never have any communcations problems in their relationship I think coz being a guy myself and so is Matt if you haven't noticed well I think he will be more than willing to take the time, any time, all the time to listen and to speak with his sweet love!

Does anybody know how I can stop all the unsolisted phone calls and e-mails May 15, 2008 6:19 am
593 Views
I had an email in my inbox a a couple of weeks ago saying I would recieve a $500.00 gift certificate from the Target department store providing I filled out a simple questionaire and survey. I thought it was from Target thermselves but I don't think it was as I went along answering the never ending questions from some unethical marketing firm. I finaly gave up when I began to see this but the trouble is that I had alreday typed in my cell phone and yahoo email addy as well as my post office box, that was the very question asked of me and should have tipped me off. I never completed this surrvey so they should not have kept and used my personal info to sell other bussinesses but evidently they have. I have recieved about 15 or 20 phone calls since that time from either recorded messages or sales persons asking me to hook up with their products that I'm not interested in and recieve probably about 20 e-mails daily from them that are in my yahoo inbox each day even though I keep marking them as span they still keep coming to me and now I'm even getting the "junk mail" to my postal box. I have advise the clerks to just throw the junk away so thats no problem but does anyone know how I can stop all these phone calls and e-mails from coming to me? If I can't find a way to stop it all then I will more than likely have to change both my phone and e-mail address but really don't want to do that if I can avoid it. Any suggestions? Thanks. Greg
