GUILTY ........REPOST Jul 11, 2009 8:59 pm

" And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and the books were opened.

And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. "
Rev. 20:12

At the great white throne judgment; those who have not received mercy from God, and whose names are not written in the Book of Life; will be found guilty for every sinful deed, which includes every sinful thought, and every sinful word ever spoken.

There will be no jury made up of their peers, no attorney to defend them, no not guilty plea, and no plea bargain's to be made. Those who face this judgment will come from all walks of life; some rich and some poor, some extremely religious and others atheist.

" And they were judged, each one according to his works. " Rev.20:13b

After being raised from the dead ( and all will be resurrected from the dead ), those who stand here will face what Scripture calls the second death, being cast into the lake of fire; to be tormented day and night forever.

However, those who have fled to take refuge in Christ; will not face this judgment, for the second death has no power over them; because they will take part in the first resurrection. These also have an advocate ( the Son ), who always lives to intercede on their behalf. To God be the glory.

PRAISE THE LORD WHO IS RICH IN MERCY

HOW IMPORTANT DO YOU THINK THE CROSS OF CHRIST IS TO THE CHRISTIAN FAITH ? Jul 11, 2009 8:10 pm
1301 Views
" For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us it is the power of God. "1 Cor. 1:18

You can really come across some interesting statements here at BC........ that is if you care to pay attention.

Here's one I found interesting:

" The CROSS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH SALVATION AT ALL. The WORKS and the OBEDIENCE was what Jesus was sent to teach- and He did His job. "

Now do I have to tell you who said that ?
The cross of Christ is very important to the Christian Faith.
The cross of Christ is somewhat important to the Christian Faith.
The cross of Christ has no value at all.
It wasn't a cross it was a torture stake.
I carry my own cross.

WRONG AGAIN CLAUDIA Jul 9, 2009 4:02 pm
803 Views
Once again...... Claudia has it wrong, as she says:

" This idea of MAKING A CHOICE TO allow Self to DIE is at the very crux of Romans 7, which GodlyCook distorts severely. 1Cor:15:31: "I die daily". GODLYCOOK tries to distort it all to mean that it is GOD'S LAW that dies. Paul talks about 'the Law of sin and Death"... There is ALSO the 'law' that says as long as my 'husband' is ALIVE... I am MARRIED to my husband! Paul is referring to SELF as us being MARRIED to SELF and it is WE who must die that we can then be MARRIED TO CHRIST! "

You keep accusing me of being in error.......but you can't seem to get it straight, to save your life. You deliberately twisted what I said around. I NEVER SAID THE LAW DIED !! I SAID THE BELIEVER DIED !!

First Paul uses an illustration from marriage ( which I already covered ), then you twist what I actually said. I did not say that GOD'S LAW DIED !! I said the believer died to the law. This is what Paul says, and you apparently can't handle it. Here it is again:

" So, my brothers, you also DIED TO THE LAW through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God. "Rom. 7: 4

Then starting at verse 7 ( of chapter 7 ) Paul explains the believers struggle with sin, and how the law effects the sin nature. He gives two examples, one of himself before he was saved, and one after his conversion.

1. What effect the law has on us before being saved.

2. The effects of sin nature after being saved.

At the end of the chapter Paul cries out:

" O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God- through Jesus Christ our Lord!

These are certainly not the words of a man, who is trusting in his own ability to keep the law.

So, once again, I say:

THE BELIEVER DIES TO THE LAW, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!! You're the one who can't seem to get it right.

CLAUDIA TRYING TO CORRECT ME AGAIN.......BUT WRONG ! Jul 8, 2009 9:08 pm
820 Views
This is taken from Claudia's post, where she tries to correct me. Claiming that I twisted Paul's words.

Here's what she said:

This is SO FULL OF ERROR that one hardly knows where to begin in addressing it.

FIRST OF ALL, WE DONT DIE TO THE LAW. We die to SELF that we can become MARRIED TO CHRIST.

Oh Really..... she twisted it, not me.

Paul in Rom. 7 uses an illustration from marriage, where he explains;that the law has authority over a man only as long as he lives. He then explains, how a women is bound to her husband as long as he lives, but if he dies; she is released from the law of marriage, and can marry another. In verse 4 of Romans 7 paul says:

" So, my brothers, you also DIED TO THE LAW through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God. "emphasis mine

Paul didn't say, " we died to self ", I don't know where Claudia got that one. Paul clearly said believers " DIED TO THE LAW ", so we can now bear fruit to God.

Then Claudia said:

" SECONDLY, the Law does NOT cause sin, the Law is a MIRROR to shows us our sinful condition. THE LAW OF RIGHTEOUS AND GOOD AND HONORABLE. "

Well, she got part of that right.

" So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good. " Rom.7:12

Before Paul said that he said this:

" For when we were controlled by our sinful nature, the SINFUL PASSIONS AROUSED BY THE LAW were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death. "Rom. 7:5

There's nothing wrong with the law.......the problem is with our sinful flesh. Some think that when we are saved, the sinful nature is eradicated ( or removed ); but as we read on in Romans; we find this is also untrue. The reason the believer dies to the law is because we are no-longer controlled by our sinful nature ( its still there, just not in control ).

Then she says:

" THIRDLY, man has NEVER been incapable of keeping the Law. The PROBLEM WAS they tried to do it IN THEIR OWN STRENGTH. That is NO NEW THING... it was ALWAYS the problem. "

It makes no difference, if you're trying to keep the law IN YOUR OWN STRENGTH, or WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM GOD. The same problem still remains.

" Those controlled by their sinful nature cannot please God. "Rom. 8:8

If you claim to be a Christian ( someone who is saved ), why are you trying to attain perfection by human effort ? Why do you think the law will help you ? The law can't help you......." if you stumble on one point, you're guilty of breaking it all. " How many did you break this week ?

The law can only make you conscious of your own sin. It will never prevent you from sinning.

THOU SHALT NOT! REPOST Jul 8, 2009 11:19 am

It was Charles Trumble who said, " The greatest heresy ever to plague the Christian church; is Christians trying to live the Christian life."To put it another way, Christians trying to keep the law to aid them in living the Christian life.

If you remember I asked two questions about God giving the law to Israel.

1. Did God give the law to Israel as an expression of His expectations ?

2. Did God give the law to Israel as an expression of His requirement ?

The answer to the question should be obvious; that the Lord never expected Israel or anyone else to obey ( keep without fault ) the law. In fact Israel almost immediately started breaking God's law even though they had said, "all that the LORD has spoken we will do." Ex. 19:8

In Dt. the fifth chapter after Mose read the law to Israel; they said to Mose tell us all that the LORD our God says to you, and we will hear and do it. But the LORD had said to Mose the people would not obey Him.

" Then the LORD heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me, and the LORD said to me: I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you. They are right in all that they have spoken. Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever !Dt. 5:28-29

After the fall of man in the garden, mans heart became so corrupt; making him incapable of obeying God's law without fault. So why did God give the law ? It was added so the trespass might increase. Rom. 5:20 So anyone who thinks he (or she) is able to keep the law; consider this-you only cause your sin to increase. In Rom. 7:4-6 Paul tells the Christians; that we have died to the law, that we might belong to another ( Christ ), in order to bear fruit to God.

In verse 5 Paul says something quite profound, and it was difficult for the Jewish mind ( and the minds of the law keepers of today ) to comprehend. For to them the law was always associated with righteousness ( Dt. 6:25 ), but Paul had the audacity to associate the law with sin.

" For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death."

We too, must make this same association. Then we will recognize; how sin takes opportunity through the commandment; producing in us every kind of sinful desire. Rom. 7:8

The righteous requirements of the law are fulfilled in us ( Rom. 8:4 ), but not by us, as some would have us believe. Christ's righteousness ( His perfect obedience to the law ) is imputed to us, while our sins are removed; as far as the east is from the west. Rom. 4: 7-8, Rom. 8:4, Ps. 103:12

" Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin." Amen!

THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!!! Jul 1, 2009 8:54 am

Praise the Lord ! This is what I like to hear thank you gooday2praise.

" I've enjoyed your posts even though they do get a bit heated! Recently they've challenged me to find truth in the Bible, which in turn caused me to comment. Thanks! "

From the beginning of my membership here at BC, My primary intent was to spur others on to a richer ( and deeper ) understanding of God's word, and a fuller walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. It's not about agreeing with me ( as many here want you to believe ) and I've never even suggested such a lie. What these people don't like ( those who accuse me of making disciples of my own ) is when I point out some error ( false teaching ) which they themselves promote ( like denying the Godhood of Christ ).

Unfortunately, some here have fallen prey to these false idea's primarily because they don't really know Scripture and what Scripture teaches ( they are too shallow concerning the Word of God ). They haven't examined Scripture, as the Bereans did, to find the truths in the Bible ( Acts 17: 11 ). Instead they want to confront, accuse and distort the truth. They don't want to have their false teachers or false doctrines challenged.

If you've ever read my profile this is what I said, when first becoming a member:

" I've started a Blog, where I'll be asking thought provoking questions. My intention ( with prayer ) is to stimulate others ( myself included ) to really study their Bibles. Feel free to stop by and check it out. "

All I want is to spur others on to a deeper ( correct ) understanding of God's Holy Word. The truth matters.......not agreeing with me.

" Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. "

GODLYCOOK would tell you YES.... BUT ARE WE NOW FREE TO? Jun 28, 2009 12:52 pm
832 Views
" I want a simple YES OR NO answer.

We ALL claim to be Christians. As Christians...

ARE WE NOW FREE TO:

1. Worship other gods?

2. Have graven images?

3. Take God's name in vain?

5. Dishonor our father and mother?

6. Murder?

7. Commit adultery?

8. Steal?

9. Bear false witness against our neighbor?

10.Covet our neighbor's possessions?

Is this what so-called 'CHRISTIAN LIBERTY' is all about?

...is YOURS all about that? "

Not again! Why do you keep asking the same foolish question ? Liberty in Christ is not license to sin. I can't post on your blog ( I'm not a friend ) so I'll answer you here. You just can't stop accusing me of promoting sin, when I've made it clear that faith without works isn't real faith. I'm not an anti-nomian, but you are legalistic.

In the Epistle to the Galatians Paul said several things, but never even suggested that the believer is still enslaved to the law. :

" The matter arose because some false brothers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves. "

" I would like to learn one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard ? Are you so foolish ? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain perfection by human effort ? " Gal. 3:2 - 3

" Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard ?Gal. 3:5

" You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge your sinful nature, rather, serve one another in love. " The entire law is summed up in a single command: " Love your neighbor as yourself. " Gal. 5:13 - 14

" So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of your sinful nature. "Gal. 5:16

" But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. "Gal. 5:22

" Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. "Gal.5:24

Just looking at a few of the things Paul tells us in the Book of Galatians, we see that:

1. False brothers ( or sisters ) want to re-enslave true brothers to the law of Moses.

2. We did not receive the Spirit because we were observing the law, but because we believed the gospel message.

3. Its foolish to believe, that after beginning with the Spirit; to resort back to the law in an attempt to reach perfection. As if the law will help keep you straight.

4. Once we have been made free ( from the law ) we are commanded not to use our freedom to indulge in the sinful nature; but to serve one another in love. For the entire law is summed up in one command..." Love your neighbor as you love yourself "
5. Living by the Spirit prevents us from gratifying the flesh.

6. There is no law which can produce ( In us ), the good works that the Spirit of God produces in the believer.

7. The believer has crucified their sinful nature, with it passions, and live by the Spirit; not the law.

" But if you live by the Spirit, you are not under law. "Gal.5:18

Conclusion...... Claudia is trying to throw believers under the bus, and wants to make salvation conditional ( conditioned upon our obedience to the law ). But we have been freed form the law ( are no longer under its control ). Our freedom IS NOT a license for the Christian to sin, and the indwelling Spirit of God keeps on producing fruit pleasing to God.

I JUST BANNED GORDY Jun 28, 2009 8:37 am

I just banned Gory aka Gordy ( I'm sure he'll reappear as someone else ).....its useless trying to communicate with him, he continuously lies, twist what others say, is disrespectful , vulgar, attacks the character of others and is a blasphemer. I should have banned him long ago, but I was letting him make a fool of himself for all to see. He's a devil for sure, and I hope that I was at least successful at exposing him as such.

If I have offended any innocent bystanders while attacking him, please forgive me. Even though I called him a few names.......I never became vulgar ( I managed to keep my language clean ), as I attempted to give him a taste of his own medicine. Gordy seems to get a kick out of using foul language. Surly, the Spirit of God has never taken control of him ( or her ) , because Gordy clearly can't control his own tongue.

Again, if I have offended anyone ( with the exception of Gory ) please forgive me.

IF SATURDAY IS THE SEVENTH DAY SABBATH......THEN WHY ? Jun 27, 2009 7:42 am
1364 Views
Today ( Saturday ) is the seventh day sabbath.......and according to those who say we must obey the law and keep it, that would mean we should not be performing any type of labor, until sunset today. That includes such things as:

Carrying
Burning
Extinguishing
Finishing
Writing ( or typing )
Erasing
Cooking
Washing
Sewing
Tearing
Knotting
Untying
Shaping
Plowing
Planting
Reaping
Harvesting
Threshing
Winnowing
Selecting
Sifting
Grinding
Kneading
Combing
Spinning
Dyeing
Chain-stitching
Warping
Weaving
Unraveling
Building
Demolishing
Trapping
Shearing
Slaughtering
Skinning
Tanning
Smoothing
Marking

Not only are you prohibited from working, you are prohibited from doing anything that will cause the following people work.

Your children

Any employee or person who would serve you (this includes any stranger who would serve you).

Any animal you own.

Any non-Jewish person in your home.

What was the penalty for violating the Sabbath ?

" Say to the Israelites, 'You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the LORD, who makes you holy.

Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it must be put to death; whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from his people.

For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.
Exodus 31:13 -15

Question: If today is the Sabbath..... why then is Claudia so busy typing ( writing ) several new post today ? She is in violation of the very law; she is telling everyone else they must keep. Not only is she working she is causing others to woke by respond to her post.

Now should she be put to death, for violating the Sabbath ?
