There are three places in scripture where unbelievers are referred to as sanctified. Does anyone know where they are ? Does it mean that they are saved ?

MY RESPONSE TO DUNCAN Mar 12, 2007 1:13 pm

I'm dedicating this post to Duncan's Red Letter Edition of accusations concerning my stance on Biblical truths, which he rejects. He has accused me of presenting a lopsided argument which favors Calvinism. Even though I've repeatedly told him ( and others ) that I'm not a Calvinist; he still refers to my position as one sided. Apparently he hasn't been following my Blog ( though I know he has ), I take care when I address any subject in scripture not to present one side of anything. My recent post " GOD LOVES THE SINNER " Is proof of that as well.

I didn't side step the text in 2 Peter, that some use to teach that a Christian can lose his ( or her ) salvation. I approached it head-on, rather than side step it ( or dance around it ) taking the time to show what the text means in it's context ( without twisting it ). For him to deny that fact shows his disdain for truth, and I believe Duncan is guilty of what is called projection. Projection is when a person blames you, for something they themselves are guilty of doing. So, Duncan is projecting his demons of one-sided arguments onto me.

Arminians ( like Duncan ) are quick to point to the " WHOSOEVER " passages in an attempt to prove that anyone can be saved. They make the mistake of assuming that because man is responsible; that man is free. Responsibility has nothing to do with ability or freedom; but it has everything to do with being judged by a Holy God, who holds us accountable for our sins. Lets look at one of those " WHOSOEVER " passages.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. " Matt. 11:28

I can ask the question: WHO WILL COME; it is here that Arminians show their lack of respect for the Bible and it's Author; by inferring from a text whatever they want, and can only run screaming " It's Calvinism " if you attempt to show them what the text is actually saying. I have established from scripture over and over; again the condition of man as it is taught in scripture. When we look at what the Bible says about any topic; we must look at everything it says ( without isolating it from what is said elsewhere ) So, here's the Biblical truth Arminians must refute with their " WHOSOEVER " doctrine.

" Jesus therefore answered and said to them, " Do not murmur among yourselves.

No one can come to Me unless the Father draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:43,44

Then He repeats it

" And He said, " Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father. "
From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more
John 6:65,66

On the one hand Jesus says come; while on the other hand He says no one can come unless something happens to cause man to come. Here's where the Arminian starts going in circles. They'll say we come of our own free-will and can reject the draw, even though Jesus Himself says no one can come unless something happens first and then we willing come.

WHY AREN'T ALL MEN SAVED ? Mar 11, 2007 5:32 am

I'm trying to find someone here at Bigchurch who can answer this question since someone else won't. Give scripture ( if you can find some ) that you feel supports your answer.
God's not going to save everybody.
Everybody won't believe; but God wants everybody to be saved.
It's Calvin's fault.
What does it matter; as long as I'm saved.
The Bible teaches both.
Everybody is going to be saved.

I asked the question on another post about John the baptist and when he received the Holy Spirit. Some thought I was dead in the water, and had no idea of what I was talking about. Here's the answer to the question

" For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will drink no wine or liquor; and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, while yet in his mother's womb. "Luke 1:15

I used the NASB because it makes the greek tense clear, but in every other translation it's still saying the same thing. John the baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit before he was born. I'm sure someone is saying " So what ! "

WHO IS ACCOUNTABLE ? Mar 8, 2007 6:20 am

On a previous post of mine I asked the question " Who is accountable ? " to which only a couple of people responded. There is a new post which asked a similar question, concerning what happens to young children ( especially babies ) when they die. To some it just doesn't seem fair; that a loving God would send Innocent babies to hell.

Most people approach this subject; either rejecting what the Bible says, about sin and how it has effected the human race ( including babies ), or they feel a need to make God appear to be more compassionate, in His dealings with our children. After all God is a loving and merciful God, who couldn't send an innocent child to hell.

One text which is often appealed to in support of all babies going to heaven is found in the book of 2 Samuel 12:22,23. David ask the question " Can I bring him back again ? " Does he mean back from death; or back from heaven ?

" And he said, " While the child was alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ' Who can tell whether the LORD will be gracious to me, that the child may live ?

But now he is dead; why should I fast ? Can I bring him back again ? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me. "

It is certain that the child died, in spite of David's plea. The question is; what was David saying in response to the child's death ? There are a couple of different views on this text:

1. David is saying that his son died, cannot come back to him; went to heaven and that he would some day join him there.

2. David is saying that his son died, cannot come back to him ( from death ), and that he ( David ) would some day die as well.

David surly believed in life beyond the grave, and that God could return life to his dead son. He also understood the implications of the imputation of sin, and it's effects on the entire human race. For it was David who said:

" The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies."Ps. 58:3

Now, unless you want to say David didn't know what he was saying; we would have to conclude that David's child was not considered innocent of imputed sin. So, then does that mean that the child automatically went to heaven upon his death ? No.

That child just like any other child born (imputation of sin begins at the moment of conception ), is guilty before God thanks to Adam. I know some reject this doctrine, supposing it to be Calvinistic. Do some babies go to heaven when they die ? Yes. But only by God's grace. Many references are made to God choosing us, before he formed us in our mothers womb. If you believe all babies go to heaven when they die; then you believe in baby universalism. I plan to be taking a look at some other verses, that are used by those; who teach that all babies go to heaven.

How far are we to go with tolerating false teachers ?
In love we must always tolerate them.
Only tolerate them, as long as their false teaching is not dangerous.
Never tolerate a false teacher.
Many try to warn me; that I'm following a false teacher, I wish they would leave me alone.
We should't judge anyone, not even false teachers.
I'll just sit back, and let God take care of any false teachers.

WE WILL NOT RETREAT ! Feb 17, 2007 9:03 pm

" And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. "Matt. 16:18

The Christian church made up of believers is always moving forward, and never retreats; in the face of the enemy. In fact the gates of Hell ( Hades ) are described in this text, as being on the defense and the church is on the offense. The church keeps the devil and his minions back on their heels. The enemy always tries to make it look as though the church is losing, some of us may die; but we never retreat.

The Gospel is not something man made-up !

The Gospel is not pop psychology !

The Gospel is not one of many ways to God !

The Gospel is not a matter of our own interpretation; we don't decide what the Gospel is, or just make it up as we go along. The Gospel has nothing to do with psychology and Jesus is not Dr. Feel Good, about yourself. Nor is the Gospel one of many ways, there is only one way.

GOD IS A GENTLEMAN.........OR IS HE ? Feb 11, 2007 8:17 pm

Definition of the word gentleman:

1. A chivalrous, courteous, or honorable man.

2. A polite or formal way of referring to a man.

What is it that makes some use this term, as a description of how God responds to mankind ? After-all what could God possibly see in some that would cause Him to respect them; as opposed to someone else ? Is it ever said in the Bible; that God has respect for anyone because of their position, wealth, popularity, skin color, religious affiliation, or any type of good-works which we might perform ?

The need for some to feel it necessary to defend God's character, by describing Him as a gentleman; only succeeds in making for themselves a god after their own image. God is not a man that He would have to respect our integrity, as if we had any. Surely, if God can impose Himself upon satan's will; what makes men think that God would not impose Himself upon their will's ?

Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had to learn this truth the hard way. After the LORD showed him just how much power; he really didn't have, Nebuchadnezzar praised and honored the LORD by saying............

" For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation.

All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of the earth.

No one can restrain His hand Or say to Him, " What have You done ? "
Dan.4:34-35

Nebuchadnezzar's description of God; is the complete opposite of those who describe " God as a gentleman ". After all, would a gentleman consider the inhabitants of the earth as nothing ? If God were a gentleman; wouldn't He have respect for our feelings and will's concerning how He handles things ?

When God called ( drafted ) Jeremiah into service, the LORD commanded Jeremiah to speak for Him; to which Jeremiah declared " I cannot speak ". Yet the LORD had no regard for Jeremiah's complaint, and commanded him to rise, and go where the LORD was sending him. Everyone who has ever been called ( drafted ) into God's service had some sort of complaint; but this did not stop the LORD of heaven from using that person. Their will's never over ruled God's will or plan. To think that man can impose his will over God's will is a foolish notion.

TWISTS AND TURNS Feb 9, 2007 9:40 pm

Today there are many false prophets ( teachers ) who have infiltrated the body of Christ, and with their false doctrines have led some astray. They are skillful in twisting God's Word and turning some from sincere worship of the one true God. Many refuse to heed the warnings of scripture, as well as sound teachers. They prefer to sit under men, who teach what their itching ears want to hear. God warned israel about the dangers of following false prophets; just as He warns the church, through the apostle Paul of the dangers of false teachers.

No one who has been truly born again, can be misled by these false teachers, and God uses false teachers to expose those who don't really belong to Him. When a person can comfortably sit under a false teacher ( like Creflo Dollar ) for a number of years without any problems with the teachings. Then something is terribly wrong.

" And if the prophet is induced to speak anything, I the Lord have induced that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people israel.

And they shall bear their iniquity; the punishment of the prophet shall be the same as the punishment of the one who inquired, "
Ezek. 14:9-10

It is clear from this text, that God is the one who sends the false prophet, and He also judges the false prophet ( whom He sent ), and then judges all those who inquired of ( listened to ) the false prophet. In much the same way; the coming of the lawless one according to the working of Satan, which will be displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles and signs, will mislead many ( 2 Thess 2:5-12 ). It is here that we are told that God will send a strong delusion, so that men will believe a lie. Who is sending the strong delusion ? God. Why ? Because these people refuse to believe the truth.
