Are all people created equal? Do some people deserve more honor than others?

I once attended a Christian conference. All were required to wear badges. A 'well-known' Christian speaker tried to enter a room without a badge. He was stopped, as per conference rules. The volunteer who followed the rules was chided for blocking Mr. Well-Known Speaker. I didn't recognize the man either.

Was it OK for him to be above the rules because he has his face and name on some book jackets that not everyone reads?

Why do so many people fawn over the rich & famous?

Why do I ask so many questions???

Lamentations Mar 16, 2007 8:49 pm
Mood: tired, 1180 Views

I think this was written during a very trying time in Israel's history. Jerusalem had fallen to the Babylonians. False prophets had said that all was fine but God wanted the Israelites to surrender. Jeremiah was pursecuted for prophesying the punishment God ordained and brought about. Yet in the midst of those tramatic events he wrote a series of acrostic poems. Creativity. Art in times of trouble. I like art. Yea, for creativity!

What will I be doing during adverse times??

What would God say? Mar 12, 2007 2:56 pm

Are you a single person that has stayed celibate despite media and social pressures? What would God say?

Are you a husband that lays down his life for his wife by regularly putting her interests ahead of your own? What would God say?

Are you a wife that submits to your husband by following him where he leads? What would God say?

Are you exercising daily and eliminating high fat, high sugar foods from your diet to maintain the Temple of the Holy Spirit for His honor? What would God say?

Do you stand firm against habits that go contrary to God's word in a desire for obedience to your Lord & Savior? What would God say?

Have you, today, confessed a sin and sought forgiveness from your Heavenly Father? What would God say?

I think He's saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

I say, "Thank you for being a witness for our Lord."

Cornered! Mar 11, 2007 9:04 am

So I go to church this morning expecting instructions on how to find a mate [my housemate clued me in that the sermon was about singles fixing themselves before God sends them a mate].

I heard something totally different! The topic was Ruth & Boaz, a great love story. Pastor talked about how some express discontent with singleness by spending hours online at singles websites! I've been caught in the act! So... I'm signing off. I hope to spend more time catching up on chores [both business & household] so I can practice hospitality.

I still plan to blog, though; don't tune me out!

Have a great week, y'all!

Does it work?

I did it once. I was relunctant; he was persistant. I set my limits; he honored them. It was great relationship while it lasted. He bought a Bible, joined the church, got baptized all of his own volition.

But after the break up [he walked] his church attendance tapered off to nil.

Was it worth it? God knows.

No such thing as closure Mar 9, 2007 6:19 am

He pursued me for 10 months. He was generous. He was crazy for me. He honored my standards. He brought me flowers. He respected my boundries. He was always saying how beautiful I was. He pampered me when I was sick. He helped me expand my business. He told me when he planned to propose. He asked me where I wanted to have the ceremony. He sent me an email breaking up with me.

It was over an issue that I had no control of and that I informed him of on our FIRST date - my inability to have children. [Hey, I'm in my late 40's! It's natural at this age!]

When I tried, via email, to get closure - acknowledgement that I knew that the issue was important and I did not hide it from him - nothing. He ignored all my emails. But he wanted to talk. Not about the break up, though.

Closure? A myth!

What's your experience??
