In November I can cast my one vote. For US President it is only once every four years.

But I can pray everyday. Please pray for the leader/s of your country.

My 'to do' list is just too long. And now I can't sleep. I try to cast all my cares on Him but I'm not falling asleep... Any suggestions?

... eight necklaces and four pairs of earrings today. It was a work at home day and I didn't particularly like it. I like people!

Hi, People!

I'm not done; I have to make more earrings and a couple bracelets.

Talkative Toad was persistent and pleasant. Gentle Gecko was nowhere to be seen. Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty invited Talkative Toad to share... Talkative Toad accepted the invitation before she could even finish speaking! Off he hopped as she walked to Forest Green.

Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty was happy to have a cute critter nearby. They both liked the same things, though Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty could hop farther and sing longer. But Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty was looking for a connection of the soul, not equality. After all, she could not catch flies as well as T. Toad could nor could she blend into the forest floor as well. Day after day they went to Meadow Calm together to enjoy whatever weather nature sent that way.

But Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty could not stop thinking about Gentle Gecko, especially when T. Toad wouldn't let her finish her sentences. As she was decided that Condor was the not the one to share the cottage, Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty decided Talkative Toad was not either.

While Talkative Toad was out snapping flies for his dinner, Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty snuck away to Meadow Calm to look for Gentle Gecko. To her surprise, that is where Talkative Toad went to dine. He did not notice her; she proceeded to the opposite side of the meadow. She looked high and low but did not see Gentle Gecko.

Just then, Fine Fox appeared. Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty and Fine Fox enjoyed chatting the few times he showed up in Meadow Calm. He never came unless he was lonely. Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty enjoyed Fine Fox's friendship but Fine Fox was everyone's friend. When he came to Meadow Calm he would try to visit with all his friends; he had very little time, not in a bad way I should add, for Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty. But this day he did not try to romp with the others. This day, he said he heard that Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty had cleared a space in her cottage for a cute critter. He mused aloud about how nice it would be to share her cottage. Was this the animal Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty should share her cottage with? He a most handsome animal. And he always promised to share his scavenged dinner with her. What would she do about Talkative Toad?? But before she could suggest an arrangement, Fine Fox slipped away into the lush landscape.

Talkative Toad hopped over to Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty. Had he seen her talking to Fine Fox? She was worried she might hurt Talkative Toad's feelings. You see, Talkative Toad did not know that she and Fine Fox were old friends. But with Fine Fox gone maybe it would not be an issue after all.

Once in Meadow Calm she gazed on the wild flowers. She felt the ripple of silk of her blouse across her back and the warmth of the sun on her face. Even if Gentle Gecko did not come close she was happy.

Shortly after she arrived, Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty almost stepped on Talkative Toad. Cute little fella. He said he was out enjoying nature just like she was. He said he was so happy to be in Meadow Calm just like she was. He said he enjoyed the wild flowers just like she did. Talkative Toad invited Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty to sit in the shade with him.

Gentle Gecko was no where to be seen so in the pleasant shade she sat with Talkative Toad. Though Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty rarely got to finish her thoughts when conversing with Talkative Toad she enjoyed the close company of a cute critter. Every day she arrived at Meadow Calm Talkative Toad was there to suggest an activity and keep her company.

After a week, Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty wondered if this should be the animal she invites to share her cottage.

To be continues yet again...

But Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty could not stop thinking about the gecko. Would he ever come to her cottage?

Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty knew that only one critter could safely share her cottage and she had her heart set on the cautious reptile. It was very hard but she had to ask the majestic condor to leave.

He, in his regal way, understood that the cottage was not meant for a condor. With a wave of his wing he took off for thermals south but promised to be Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty's friend forever.

With excitement in her heart she returned to Meadow Calm in hopes that Gentle Gecko would come close enough for Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty to invite him home.

Day after day Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty went from her cottage in Forest Green to beauty of Meadow Calm. Day after day she enjoyed the breezes and flora. Day after day she watched the fauna always hoping Gentle Gecko would come closer.

One day a condor swooped over head. Majestic! It circled but rode the wind southwards towards its home.

Every few days there after the condor could be seen sailing over head for a moment before moving on.

After many weeks of this there came a day when the condor did not sail away. It landed near Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty! Awed, she asked the condor to come home with her to live in her cottage. The condor agreed and followed her to Forest Green.

Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty was so happy to have a majestic critter so close. Despite it's wide wingspan the condor was very gentle and careful in Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty's cottage.

Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty lived in a small cottage on the edge of Forest Green. She was a busy little miss: she taught spindle-less weaving, managed a crew of seven little people at the local gold mine, cleaned house for a small family of contentious women and delivered food baskets to the elderly. But even when she was busy Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty loved to walk through Meadow Calm. Everyday, even on rainy ones, Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty enjoyed her time in the natural landscape.

Animals big and small from far and wide came to Meadow Calm to romp and roam. Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty would watch them all. Sometimes when she sat very still they came close to her and she could see their cute spiky whiskers or their cute shining eyes. She liked all the Animals. But she especially liked Witty Wren and Gentle Gecko.

One day she as she watched the Animals feed and frolic Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty had an idea - she would clear a corner of her cottage and invite one of the Animals to come stay with her.

It took many days for her to re-arranger her trinkets and knickknacks, her books and bundles, her this-es and thats. When the space was as clean as the contentious women's home after Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty had finished her cleaning and before the women came home from the ballroom, she went out to the Meadow Calm and waited for one of her favorite Animals to come by.

Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty saw the little Witty Wren come her way. It darted; it sang. It made her smile. She sat quietly and expectantly. But the little Witty Wren flew right past Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty and come to rest next to Newt. The bird and the amphibian seemed to enjoy each other's company. She watched. How could she break up such a friendship. Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty returned to her cabin, once again, by herself.

The next day Little Miss Cinder Snow Beauty went again to Meadow Calm. She waited patiently for the Gentle Gecko. He came but not very close. She returned to her cabin, once again, by herself.

Gideon's Fleece Sep 21, 2008 6:02 am

Have you ever put out a 'fleece' to learn God's will? Do you recommend it? Is it Old Testament??

I've always argued against casting lots [ Luke 1:26 "Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles." ] because it is used in the New Testament BEFORE the Holy Spirit come on them and not after.

Thoughts? Insights??

Thanks!
