Hold On, My Child Nov 18, 2005 8:36 am
Mood: rejuvenated, 719 Views
You feel as though you're in a trap
and life here isn't fair
because the world won't see you through
and you've searched everywhere
for answers that don't seem to come
for hope and peace of mind.
You've tried and cried and cried some more
but tears just leave you blind.
Hold on, my child, it isn't all
There's so much more in store
Don't look behind you! Look ahead!
My Jesus offers more!
He's waiting with His arms outstretched
to hold you in your need.
He won't forsake you in your want
He loves you! Let Him lead!

Why I Know There's A Reason Nov 15, 2005 1:03 pm
Mood: enthusiastic, 814 Views
It was June, 1970, when it happened. I was four and a half years old and traveling with my parents, younger sister, and older brother to see my grandmother in Kansas. We lived in Iowa.
We were all excited about visiting because we hadn't seen her for a long time.
As we were driving on the highway at a speed of at least 55mph, an older woman, who wasn't paying attention, pulled out in front of us and we collided. Dad's leg was broken in six different places. Mom's hand and nose were broken. My little sister flew up to the front seat, but only had a few bruises. My brother had glass in his arms.
A suitcase flew up to my seat and hit me in the back of the head, giving me a concussion and causing me to go into a coma for three weeks. My parents thought I was dead. It was only after they arrived at the hopital that they realized I was still alive.
When I did wake up, the doctors thought I would be blind. My parents decided that they should move to Kansas because they thought I would need to go to a special school. They were also worried that I would be mentally retarded. Amazingly, though, I didn't need a special school at all. I came out of the coma with brain damage to the central nerve. This caused me to have double-vision, but because I was so young, I was able to adapt to using one eye for reading, and one eye for distance. As for being mentally challenged, I'll let you be the judge of that.
What still amazes me is that we all should have died. Not just me. I came closer than anyone in my family, but if it weren't for God's mercy, we ALL would have died in that car accident. It amazes me that any of us survived!!!
My dad may have given up the ministry because of the accident, but God has used us all in so many ways since then! He knew that we needed to survive so that we could spread His love to a dying world!
Each of us has our own ministry and God is still in control of our lives. Praise be to God!

Passion Nov 12, 2005 7:23 pm
Mood: infatuated, 749 Views
I hunger for a way to ease
the loneliness inside of me
and so I seek the very thing
that I know will destroy my soul
but I won't heed. I will not go
into the world that's drawing me
to satisfy with passion's fire
because I know You offer more.
I may feel that I have the right
to do whatever I may want
and that I won't hurt anyone
if I just do this just one time,
but, in truth, nothing satisfies me
like the love that You can give
and I know in the end I win
if I avoid the compromise.

Leave Me Alone, Satan! Nov 11, 2005 2:00 pm
Mood: angry, 802 Views
You rip apart the flesh I'm in
and drive your claws right through my skin
and take away my meager life
tell me I can't do anything
You want for me no more, no less
than just to steal my happiness
You want to make me serve myself
tho I know He's my king.
You hate the fact that I'm His child
so try to get me to run wild
telling me no one else will know
if I compromise
But you are NOT my counselor!
You are NOT who I'm living for!
Leave me alone! I AM NOT YOURS!
I WON'T believe your lies!

The Stripper (for my friend) by Chardshan Nov 9, 2005 5:48 pm
Mood: sympathetic, 805 Views
She's laced up in the dark, deep night
with nothing on but sunken eyes
pretending that she's someone else
a masquerade of endless lies.
She prances on the stage in heels
no feelings left for her to feel
for anyone or anything
nothing, it seems, is really real.
She doesn't see the pain she leaves
the families that break apart
because society permits
the dancing of the empty heart.
She doesn't hear her daughter's cries
because her mama lives this life.
She only sees the money come.
Her daughter's pain cuts like a knife.
I wish I knew just what to say
to make her know there's so much more
That if she'd only call on God
He'd lead her to an open door.
With loving arms He'd take her in,
And He would help her find her way
I'll tell her Jesus cares for her
And always answers when we pray.

Without Jesus, by chardshan Nov 7, 2005 6:42 pm

You're running on a treadmill
going round and round each day
getting nowhere on yourjourney
knowing you have lost your way.
Now your head can't keep from spinning
and your feet are getting sore
as you struggle to get somewhere
that will offer something more.

Oh, if only you could see it!
Life means nothing without Him!
You can run around in circles,
But your vision will be dim!
You can bask in all your riches!
You can glow in all your fame!
But when you live without Jesus
Life's not much more than a game!

Seek Him out and He will hear you
And will save you from your pain
Jesus love will guide your journey
He alone can calm the rain!

Dear Lord Nov 1, 2005 9:33 pm
Mood: refreshed, 764 Views
Dear Lord, I need your healing touch
to mend this troubled heart of mine
to straighten out this crooked path
and lead me to Your plan divine.
Dear Lord, I know You have the keys
that open these closed doors I see
that lead me to a better life
so I can be who I should be.
Dear Lord, I thank You for the chance
I have to share Your praise in song,
Reminding me that I am Yours!
Reminding me it won't be long
Before You're coming back for me
and I will see You face to face!
This temporary trap I'm in
Is nothing when I have Your grace!
No matter what I'm going through,
You've always been right there with me
And tho, at times, I'm full of doubt,
You tell me there is hope for me.

My Constant Prayer Oct 25, 2005 3:08 pm
Mood: hopeful, 752 Views
Little baby soft and warm
Made by God with perfect form,
breathed into by God's own breath,
Lord, please save each child from death!
Laws are saying it's okay
to just throw a life away
saying it's a mother's choice
for the baby has no voice.
Let this be my constant prayer.
Be with women everywhere.
Give them hope that You can give
So each unborn child can live!

Creativity Oct 25, 2005 2:54 pm
Mood: thankful, 772 Views
I see the stars up in the sky.
Beautiful fish swin in the sea.
You may say it's an accident,
But I know it's creativity.

I see the baby in the crib.
I see the mountain's majesty.
You may say we're just here by chance,
But I know it's creativity.

I see a rainbow in the spring.
Snowflakes are formed so differently.
Flowers bloom spontaneuosly.
Beautiful creativity.

God has made each of us unique.
Each of us has ability.
I'm just so thankful to be here
To see His creativity!

Never Give Up Oct 23, 2005 9:12 pm
Mood: excited, 793 Views
When you're beaten and tired
of this crazy rat race,
And you're breathless from running
at such a fast pace,
Slow down, but don't stop
And let God take the lead!
When you give Him control
Is when you will succeed!

When it seems that the answers
will never be clear
And you can't get directions
on how to get there
Get up on your feet
And praise God, for He hears
And He'll never forsake you
In all of your fears!

When you think that you're finished
And life's just a mess
And your money's all gone
All you're left with is stress--
Don't give up! God is real!
And His plans are real, too!
And no matter what happens,
He'll be there for you!
