Is beauty more than skin deep. After reading an article in a journal, I'm curious, how many items do you have in the shower/bath tub? Be honest, how many bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gels, body scrubs, facial soap, etc do you really have at your disposal?

Gonna poll the men too, but, I predict the answer will be two - soap and shampoo.

Women, explanations are welcome!

...the telephone interview was REALLY long...I believe it went REALLY well too!!! I should hear in a few weeks if I will be presented to the full Board of Directors as a candidate. Again, thank you my friends for your continued prayer! SDG!!!

One of the most moving hymns ever written. Did you know the story behind it? Here it is:

On October 8, 1871, as Horatio Spafford and his wife Anna were grieving over the death of their son, the Great Chicago Fire swept through the city. Horatio was a prominent lawyer in Chicago and had invested heavily in the city's real estate, and the fire destroyed almost everything he owned.

Two years later, in 1873, Spafford decided his family should take a holiday somewhere in Europe, and chose England knowing that his friend D. L. Moody would be preaching there in the fall. Delayed because of business, he sent ahead of him his family: his wife Anna, and his four remaining children, daughters Tanetta, Maggie, Annie and Bessie.

On November 21, 1873, while crossing the Atlantic on the S.S. Ville Du Havre, their ship was struck by an iron sailing vessel and two hundred and twenty six people lost their lives, including all four of Spafford's daughters. Somehow his wife, Anna, survived. On arriving in England, she sent a telegram to Spafford beginning "Saved alone."

Spafford then himself took a ship to England, going past the place where his daughters had died. According to Bertha Spafford, a daughter born after the tragedy, the hymn was written in mid-Atlantic as Spafford's vessel passed near the location of the tragedy.

With the story behind the hymn in mind, read the words:

first, thank all of you who have joined me in prayer regarding the job search.

Since my last post on this subject, they have not scheduled the interview yet. They have maintained contact with me, but, they are taking their time as the position is not vacant yet and time is not an issue for them.

But, during this delay, two other solid opportunities have been presented. One, I couldn't start until June 4th due to a non-compete with my former employer...the company is aware of this and is willing to wait it out!

A third opportunity would require relocation. The opportunity looks good, but the relocation troubles me...God will have to really nudge me if this is the one He wants for me...

I appreciate the continued prayers of my BC friends. Please pray for me to know His will and pursue it! Thanks again!

The meteorologist said they were "straight line winds reaching 90 mph" - all I know is they blew all my patio furniture away and took several shingles too! We were without power for a day and a half...my boys didn't know what to do without internet, Wii, X-box 360, etc. LOL

...does it ever become easier? My former Mother-in-law picked up the boys a few hours ago to take them to their Mom. The first thirty minutes were good...whew, they are gone. I can get some things done...

Then, reality settles in...this big ole house, normally filled with youthful noise and activity becomes a quiet, cavernous cell. I know they will be home after school Monday, but in the mean time a sad realization settles in...

In a few years, they will be grown and gone...instead of every other weekend of aloneness, it will be every day...makes me want to enjoy every minute spent cooking, cleaning, doing laundry...did I just say that???

Hope all my BC friends have a great weekend...if anyone is in my neck of the woods, stop by for a cup of coffee!
