Well, the free six month extension of my "gold membership" expired the first of December...and I survived, LOL. I wasn't scheduled to speak anywhere today, good thing, I woke up not feeling very well. Thus why I'm still in bed at this hour on Sunday typing a blog entry on BC.

I hope all my BC friends are doing well. I'm gonna visit around the blogs a bit...

Let me know how you all are doing!

Some things never change... Sep 29, 2008 6:57 pm

I stopped by to night to see what's going on around the BC blogs. I learned I'm white chocolate and since I wash my face first in the shower I always think about money. Some interesting information here.

Also found out that weeds grow in the gardens down under too! A bit of red-neck advice: Round-up works wonders!

Visited a few blogs and read some inspiring words of wisdom. I miss the interactions here, but God knew what He was doing when He told me to get out from in front of the computer. LOL

I've been going to the gym for the past five weeks. It feels good to take time for myself again. I feel better than I have in years...other than my muscles being sore all the time now. An interesting twist, I started dating my trainer. Definitely out of my league, lol.

I'm staying busy preaching - schedule is staying full nearly two months in advance. Don't have an opening until November 9th.

My nephew broke his ankle two weekends ago, this past weekend a dear friend of mine wrecked his motorcycle and busted his femur and some ribs. A member of the church I use to pastor fell from his barn and broke his hip the same morning and my former wife fell and broke both her legs that afternoon. Then, on Monday my Dad was charged by a cow and broke 5 ribs and separated his AC joint. All this to say I decided to make some changes in my life: sold my motorcycle, I'm staying off ladders and avoiding the farm!

No matter what happens, God is good...all the time...that never changes

Hope all is well with all my BC friends!

I've been there just over a month and they are giving me a weeks vacation next week to spend with the boys before they go back to school and another week in October for a mission trip...both weeks are in addition to my normal vacation accrual!

How is everyone doing? Fill me in...update me on what's going on in your life...

My Anchor Holds by Ray Boltz

I have journeyed
Through the long dark night
Out on the open sea
By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were watching me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I’ve had visions
I’ve had dreams
I’ve even held them in my hand
But I never knew
They would slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty these eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh, that’s where God proved
His love to me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

As Satan was celebrating... Jun 27, 2008 7:44 pm

Joseph said, "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive." Genesis 50:20

Job said, "I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from you...I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You. And the Lord restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning" Job 42:2,5,10,12

(I could go on)

And as Jesus lay in the tomb, and Satan was dancing with glee, the Father said, "Arise my Love"...and the rest is HIStory!

Read the lyrics to one of my favorite songs as recorded by Newsong:

Not a word was heard at the tomb that day.
Just shuffling of soldiers feet as they guarded the grave.
One day, two days, three days had past.
Could it be that Jesus breathed his last?

Could it be that his Father had forsaken him?
Turned his back on his son, despising our sin.
Oh hell seemed to whisper, "Just forget it, He's dead."
Then the Father looked down to his son and he said..

Arise, My love.
Arise, My love.
The grave no longer has a hold on you
No more death sting
No more suffering
Arise...Arise...my love.

The Earth trembled and the tomb began to shake, and like lightening from Heaven
The stone was rolled away.
And this dead man the guards they all stood there in fright
As the power of love displayed its might
And suddenly a melody filled the air
Riding wings of wind, it was everywhere
The words of creation had been longing to hear.
The sweet sound of victory, so loud and clear.

Arise, my love.
Arise, my love.
The grave no longer has a hold on you.
No more death sting no more suffering
Arise...arise....

Sin, where are your shackles?
Death, where is your sting?
Hell; has been defeated. The grave will not hold, the king.

Arise, my love.
Arise, my love.
Arise....Arise....Arise

AND NEXT TO HIM Jun 19, 2008 5:32 pm

Ever read the third chapter of Nehemiah. It's one of those chapters we often quickly skim through. It lists name after name of people repairing the gates and wall of Jerusalem.

There several things to note as you read this chapter...some were found repairing more than one section of the wall (example in v 21, 27, 30), even young girls were found doing the work (v. 12). Clearly not everyone helped (v. 5)

The main thing I want to point out in this chapter is the repeated refrain "and next to them/him". That phrase (along with "after them/him") is used thirty-two times in this chapter.

When the need was greatest, God's people came shoulder to shoulder to bear the burden. What beautiful imagery of working together. Even though some didn't participate (as always will be the case), the majority came together for the Lord's work.

"Bear one another's burden's and so fulfill the law of Christ" Galatians 6:2

It's time we get to work, for the work is great. We read in the last part of verse 18 in chapter 2 "...So they said, 'Let us rise up and build.' Then they set their hands to this good work.

Let us rise up and build. People need somebody next to them helping rebuild their broken lives...lift someone up...speak into their life words of encouragement and hope.

Are you tearing down or building up?

As most of you know, I've been spending more time away from BC lately. I stop in to visit occasionally...and low and behold many of you have really "changed" LOL.

I have a suggestion to make - everybody should place their picture on the same model and really confuse BC visitors...and members too!

It's kinda confusion knowing who is real and who is not...

I start my new job Wednesday. With God's sense of humor, my office will be one floor, directly below where I previoiusly worked. I will continue with my current consulting job also. It will work nicely as it too is in the same building. God is good!

I spent most of the weekend with all three boys. We camped beside Lake Barkley. We had fun doing a lot of nothing...a little fishing, some jet skiing, and enjoying the quiet. I preached Sunday morning and then we went to my parents for lunch.

Just wanted to give my BC friends an update. Going to go visit some blogs and see what's been going on here...
