Attitude - Elephant and Leo The Lion

Leo was a lion and wanted everyone to know he was King of the Jungle. So he went through the jungle reminding everyone just who he was.

He came upon a monkey and asked him "Who is the greatest in the jungle?"

The monkey, trembling in fear replied, "Why, you are Leo. You are the great sovereign of the jungle."

Leo said, "Yes, and don't you forget it."

Next Leo came upon a wildebeest and asked him the same question. "Who is the greatest of all in the jungle?"

The wildebeest, shaking so hard he could hardly speak, said, "You, King Leo, are the great potentate."

Leo walked away reminding the wildebeest to never forget that fact.

Then Leo came upon an elephant and proceeded to ask him the very same question. "Who is the greatest of all in the jungle?"

The elephant just reached out and wrapped his trunk around the lion, almost squeezing the breath out of him, and pounded him against the ground several times. Then he pounded him against some trees. Again he pounded him against the ground. In a little bit the elephant dropped Leo to the ground and walked away pushing over trees as he went.

Leo laid there trying to get his wits and said, "Just because you don't know the answer, doesn't mean you have to have an attitude."

If you are feeling like life is out of control, that you are undervalued, that you are too busy, or if you put the needs of others consistently before your own, then it is time to create some time and space for yourself. Taking time for yourself allows you to renew, heal, and create reserves of energy and peace. Honouring yourself enables you to discover your truth, access your creativity and experience a sense of peace, wholeness, purpose, and balance.

Taking time for yourself is really about Self-Care and is an extremely important component to creating the life you want. It is about honouring yourself and connecting with yourself. Taking care of yourself is one of the first steps on the journey of discovering your truth and accessing your creativity. When you take time for yourself it allows you to stop doing for awhile and to just BE. It is in the Being where your power lies. You automatically raise your standards and capabilities and create potential and possibility in your life. When you honour and nurture yourself you can hear your inner voice much more clearly - you can hear your own truth and this connection enables you to live authentically.

Don't let the lion of business bully you into overwork. Rest, relax and spend time with God in His word daily. God bless.

Gabriel came to the Lord and said " I have to talk to you. We have some

Texans up here in Heaven who are causing problems. They're swinging on

the pearly gates, my horn is missing, barbecue sauce is all over their

robes, their dogs are riding in the chariots, and they're wearing

baseball caps and cowboy hats instead of their halos. They refuse to

keep the stairway to Heaven clean. There are watermelon seeds and pig

feet bones all over the place. Some of them are walking around with just one wing."

The Lord said, "I made them special, Gabriel. Heaven is Home to all my

. If you really want to know about real problems, let's call the Devil."

The Devil answered the phone, " Hello? DAWGGONE IT, hold on a minute."

The Devil returned to the phone, "O.K., I'm back. What can I do for you?"

The Lord replied, "I just want to know what kind of problems you're having down there."

The Devil said, "Hold on again. I need to check on something."

After about 5 minutes the Devil returned to the phone and said, "I'm

back. Now what was the question?"

The Lord said, "What kind of problems are you having down there?"

The Devil said, "Man, I don't believe this....Hold on, Lord."

This time the Devil was gone 15 minutes. The Devil returned and said ,

"I'm sorry Lord, I can't talk right now. Them GOSHDARN Texans done put out

the fire and are trying to install air conditioning."

Who exactly is my enemy? It is the inability to come before God naked. That's who my real enemy is. As I read the blogs over BC, God is saying the same thing to all of his . He is saying "come naked before me and be honest with me". He is saying, "I know you. I know your shortcomings. I already know that you cannot make it without me. I just want you to know it".

My enemy is having experienced hurt, disappointments, evil and sin. Having experienced these things keeps me second guessing God's word. I try to "reason" what God has promised. I try to make "sense" out of it. God is saying to His people every where. " Come to me as a ".

In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." In one translation it says "such is the reign of God". However you put it, it means the same thing. God cannot reign in us until we come before HIm naked once again. We have got to be innocent once again, like God originally created us. Like when we were first born. Totally trusting and believing, not questioning, not doubting. The enemy is "covering up" for ourselves, "making excuses" and " I think". When God created man, man was naked. When He created woman, she too was naked. When we are born, we are born naked. When we first receive salvation, we are re-born. We believe in what we cannot see, trust that the Word of God says there is something better. We open our hearts and close our minds and receive salvation by faith. We're Naked. So God wants us Naked again. Not covering ourselves with excuses, just trusting and believing HIm. Admitting that we cannot accomplish our purpose without HIm.

"Father thank you for loving me enough to allow me to come to you as a . Naked and yielded. Thank you for opening my eyes to see who the real enemy is. Help me, my unbelief. In Jesus name. Amen.

CLAY BALLS

A man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the caves he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him. As he strolled along the beach, he
would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could. He thought little about it, until he dropped one of the clay balls
and it cracked open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone! Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls.
Each contained a similar treasure. He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left. Then it struck him.
He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 Of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of thousands, but he had just thrown it away!

It's like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn't look like much from the outside. It isn't always beautiful or sparkling, so we discount it. We see that person as less important than someone more beautiful or stylish or well known or wealthy but we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside that person. There is a treasure in each and every one of us. If we take the time to get to know that person, and if we ask God to show us that person the way He sees them, then the clay begins to peel away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth.

Father, I pray that we not come to the end of our lives and find out that we have thrown away a fortune in friendships because the gems were hidden in bits of clay. May we see the people in our world as You, our God, sees them.

I am so blessed by the gems of friendship I have with you. Thank You here at BC for looking beyond my clay vessel.

THE KINGDOM LIFE

When Jesus taught his disciples to pray, he told them to pray "thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven". I never thought about it before, but, since Jesus did teach his disciples to pray this, wouldn't that mean that this is to be accomplished? In one of my earlier blogs, I typed, "I really want to go to heaven", and Friend89 responded with "you don't need to die to go to heaven". When I read that, I thought and responded, "well, if I don't, then please show me how.". Every since then, that statement has not left my mind, and in reading God's word, I came across this scripture again of the "Lord's prayer". It says it right there. Then, I found this article by Duane Cottrel. It is a pretty long article, so I am gonna summarize it the best I can. I want to share this with others that may not know, just as I didn't know.

First of all, what exactly is God's Kingdom? God's kingdom is not something in the future, a place we go when we die. The Kingdom of God is a present and working reality, as God is very much alive and active in our world today. God's Kingdom is made up of those who choose to place themselves under God's rule and reign by joining into the life of Jesus Christ. God's kingdom is made up of people who have chosen to make God's work their work, and come into fellowship with Jesus Christ. It is not made up of the institutions (government, church, etc.) those people create. That is a very important distinction.

Jesus asked for God's kingdom to come on earth, which means that it does not exist everywhere yet, and God is interested in growing His Kingdom and bringing it into being where it does not yet exist. Second, Jesus tells us exactly what God's Kingdom should be like: as it is in heaven. Heaven is a place of no pain, so suffering, no hatred, and perfect unity with God and with others. What this means is that where I see injustice, I must work to bring justice. Where I see pain, I must work to bring healing. Where I see suffering, I must work to bring relief. Where I see hate and indifference, I must work to bring love. Where I do not see God, I must work to bring Him there.

An interesting truth about God and His work is that He won't do it without us. No one is going to be healed, fed, clothed, or loved by God apart from another human being. Efficient or not, that is the way He has chosen to work. God is always at work, and we are called to work alongside him at whatever task he calls us to. So, I pray in the same manner "Let thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven and use me God to help bring that about"..Amen

Thank you, Friend89, for pointing me to this truth. Thank you God for sending Friend89 my way.

UNASNSWERED PRAYERS

I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL REASONS WHY GOD DOES NOT ANSWER PRAYERS, YET, THERE IS A SCRIPTURE THAT STATES THAT "IF WE ABIDE IN GOD AND HE IN US, HE WILL GIVE US WHAT WE DESIRE."

LISTED ARE SOME REASONS WHY GOD DOES NOT ANSWER PRAYER:

(1) Lack of Fellowship with God and His word

(2) Not seeking to Please the Lord

(3) Unconfessed Sin in One’s Life

(4) Improper Motives

(5) Not asking in God’s will

(6) Don’t know how to pray

(7) Lack of Faith

( Misunderstanding of Faith

(9) Wavering faith

(10) Failure to apply spiritual Authority

(11) Lack of Perseverance

But, probably the greatest reason that some prayers go unanswered is because many give-up praying and believing before they receive their answer. As long as we have the promise of God’s Word, be patient and persistent - keep believing, and don’t quit, no matter how long it takes! God has a “due season” when He will bring the answer to pass.

HOLY NAME OF GOD

I bless the holy name of God with all my heart. Yes, I will bless the Lord and not forget the glorious things He does for me.

He forgives all my sins. He heals me. He ransoms me from hell. He surrounds me with lovingkindness and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things! My youth is renewed like the eagle's. He gives justice to all who are treated unfairly...

He is merciful and tender toward those who don't deserve it: He is slow to get angry and full of kindness and love. He never bears a grudge, nor remains angry forever. He has not punished us as we deserve for all our sins...

He is like a father to us, tender and sympathetic to those who reverence him. For He knows we are but dust, and that our days are few and brief, like grass, like flowers, blown by the wind and gone forever.

But the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to those who reverence HIm...

Let everything, everywhere bless the Lord. And how I bless Him too!! (Ps 103:1-10;13-17,22 TL)
