If one wonders why I write about shysters and people using the bible to get money from others it isn't hard to figure out. Notice I said use the bible, because the Gospel of Jesus is free.

The more I read about the lavish lifestyles brought about by conning good intentioned people out of their money with promises of what God will do or what he will invoke on people if they don't ante' up.

I remember my grandmother. She was in her 70's at the time. Her mind had just started down the road of dementia. She was 92 when she died, but her memory was pretty bad by the time she died. How tragic. Well, the thing she and I had together was watching Big Time Wrestling. We watched it on our black and white TV every saturday from 11am until noon. Boy did she get riled at the bad guys lol.

My point is that if it is packaged right, a very good portion of people can and will respond. If one can twist scriptures just enough to present their position, and have just enough flair as to how they present it, people will respond.

A lot of these TV personalities are at places where their shows have placed them in a category of never having to work again if they do not want to, but yet this is so easy. So they never stop.Almost each one lives in at least a million dollar home. Why? because they have a flair about talking of Jesus. A flair of talking in a way that makes people want to give money.

If they weren't doing it in a pulpit, they would be on a street corner at an intersection in a wheelchair or with a fake cast with a sign. Its all the same.

I just do not know how people live with themselves. They must live in houses with no mirrors.

No matter how I shake it, it still is this feeling of being in a land that I am not used to. I don't even know why.

Yesterday evening after taking a friend to pick up their car that had been repaired; I went and jumped in the ocean. Yet I have this unsettled uneasy feeling. I know things are ok, but I also know that I feel Like I am having this continual out of body experience.

For some reason this is a time in my life where some things I haven't thought about in years has come across my mind. Its like everyday life is like a journey of wiping cobwebs away as you plunge ahead. Sometimes like you are walking through muddy grass to get where you want to go.
Perhaps Dennis has entered the "Twilight Zone" and he doesn't know it.

Yesterday I was thinking back to when I was 12 years old. I had this friend who was maybe 11 at the time. His name was Henry Piper. Henry wasn't real bright, but a good kid. He and his younger brother lived on a farm. It had a gas tank that could hold maybe 200 gallons as a surplus for some of the tractors etc. It didn't have gas in it at th time they climbed to the top of it and dropped a match into it to see what it would do.

The metal container exploded and Henry had severe burns. His brother survived but Henry died a very painful death 3 days later. That was 1968. 40 years ago. I think of it from time to time. I am surprised that I thought of it this summer. Personally I am glad I did. I think its good that people are not forgotten over time.
