You need to watch out for this. person....Wolf in Sheeps Clothes May 2, 2006 4:56 am

I was just at another blog that I will put at the bottomof this little blog. There is a woman on here that openly promotes totally unGodly doctrine. Most people will not even realize what this person is talking about. Thats how the enemy works.....

Her words:Gnosticism embraces numerous general attitudes toward life: it encourages non-attachment and non-conformity to the world, a “being in the world, but not of the world”; a lack of egotism; and a respect for the freedom and dignity of other beings. Nonetheless, it appertains to the intuition and wisdom of every individual “Gnostic” to distill from these principles individual guidelines for their personal application..

..take the time to read what she has to say here..it is whacked out and totally unscriptural..she talks of another herecy in this:

In regard to salvation, or the fate of the spirit and soul after death, one needs to be aware that help is available. Valentinus, the greatest of Gnostic teachers, taught that Christ and Sophia await the spiritual man

Here is what this deception is really about:

Gnosticism

Gnosticism traces its roots back just after the beginning of the Christian Church. Some researchers state that evidence of its existence even predates Christianity. Whichever the case, the error of gnosticism had affected the culture and church of the time and possibly even a earned a mention in 1 John 4.
The word "gnosticism" comes from the Greek word "gnosis" which means "knowledge." There were many groups that were Gnostic and it isn't possible to easily describe the nuances of each variant of Gnostic doctrines. However, generally speaking, Gnosticism taught that salvation is achieved through special knowledge (gnosis). This knowledge usually dealt with the individual's relationship to the transcendent Being.
A more detailed Gnostic theology is as follows. The unknowable God was far too pure and perfect to have anything to do with the material universe which was considered evil. Therefore, God generated lesser divinities, or emenations. One of these emanations, Wisdom desired to know the unknowable God. Out of this erring desire the demiurge an evil god was formed and it was this evil god that created the universe. He along with archons kept the mortals in bondage in material matter and tried to prevent the pure spirit souls from ascending back to god after the death of the physical bodies. Since, according to the Gnostics, matter is evil, deliverance from material form was attainable only through special knowledge revealed by special Gnostic teachers. Christ was the divine redeemer who descended from the spiritual realm to reveal the knowledge necessary for this redemption. In conclusion, Gnosticism is dualistic. That is, it teaches there is a good and evil, spirit and matter, light and dark, etc. dualism in the universe.
What we know about Gnosticism is gained from the writings of Irenaeus, Hippolytus, Tertullian, Origen, and some later manuscripts discovered in the eighteenth century such as the "Codex Askew, Codex Bruce, the Berlin Gnostic Codes and, most recently, the Nag Hammadi collection."1 Nag Hammadi is a town in Upper Egypt near ancient Chenoboskion and 13 codices discovered were discovered about 1945.
The danger of gnosticism is easily apparent. It denies the incarnation of God as the Son. In so doing, it denies the true efficacy of the atonement since, if Jesus is not God, He could not atone for all of mankind and we would still be lost in our sins.
There is debate whether or not this is a Christian heresy or simply an independent development. The evidence seems to point to the later. Nevertheless, the Gnostics laid claim to Jesus as a great teacher of theirs and as such requires some attention. It is possible that 1 John was written against some of the errors that Gnosticism promoted.

Different Time, Different Faces, but the SAME "spirit(s)"

You Might be a Liberal if

* You like to find things to complain about even if they have never been proven true

* You believe the mixing of reliions in the name of peace is good for Christianity

* You embrace almost every conspiracy theory because you believe that Capitalism and the wealthy are your enemy

* You believe you are entitled to be taken care of just because you are a human being and your government thus owes you something.

* You use blanket accusations and never can substanciate your claims such as Ted Kennedy, John Kerry and the Clintons...who are later proven to be Liars.

* You work for CBS, ABC, NBC or CNN

* You compromise calling it all to be love in the name of Jesus when clearly Jesus himself stood up against people such as the Pharasies..not realizing there is not a no person left behind plan with God because he gives us all choice.

* You embrace humanism and the unGodly thinking that goodness comes from man, when the opposite is true.

I just read a marvelous blog and it is filled with truth. Take the time to read all three parts and think about where you fit in. Because we all fit in to this. If you really want to understand Gods' heart and how the people we read about affect us...do yourself a huge favor and read this.

A tale of two attitudes Apr 30, 2006 4:18 am

I have really debated over this...as to whether or not to post this. It probably doesnt affect 90% of the people out there because they have understanding hearts and they do not wish to make anyone feel bad. Maybe I am writing it for the perpetrator.

As you know we have two wonderful people here that just met and married in a whirlwind courtship. Little do people know that they asked several tough questions towards each other and really tested the waters to see if they were the right people for each other. It came out in flying colors yes yes yes.

The people that really knew them all knew that it was right. A few of us knew in our hearts that when she visited they would marry before she returned. The Lord said that to me, her family and roomates back home. That is not coincidence.

This person and we all know who I am talking about had been talking to many men here during her search. Some were very nice. But God had given her a standard. One of them she thought alot about but she knew it was just going to be friends. Both of them are cool about the fact she met the right one.

I have had this happen to me in the past. If you really care about someone then, their happiness in life should come before yours. It is not a slap in the face if you are not the right match for someone else.

Well the one gentleman that I have all the respect for came out on their blog and congratulated them. You could tell he was sincere. It wasnt phoney. She had taken the time to explain to him that God had shown her the right person and he was sad yes, but he is a person that just like she, wants the Lords' will over his own.

Now this other person, whoom she enjoyed....reacted totally differntly when she announced her exclusiveness in the first place. This person had jumped the gun when they first met and asked for exclusiveness and she didnt feel peace about that. The more they talked the more that she realized this wasnt who God had intended for her.

So instead of true congratulations on her blog of anouncement of finding a man, he had to make it look like he had decided to just be friends when it was she. It shouldnt have been about that. A nice congratulations was all thaqt was needed, just like the other person.

And I am not saying this person is bad because of doing that, but try and think about the damper you are putting on their Joy. It isnt about you! Its about them.

Well it went a step further and that is why I am writing this. Her husband wrote his blog on them getting married. What happens? Instead of true congratulations, maybe because of jealousy or some deal with rejection, he once again makes a statement that should never have been made. He mentions that since both were liscensed pastors, why couldnt they have had the discipline to wait awhile to get married.

That was totally uncalled for. Number one, none of his bussiness.

I have not known the husband very long, but in talking to him on the phone, I think he is just a great great man. I think he has very good insight and maturity. He Loves the Lord and desires to serve him. I also know that these two people were meant to be together. Its been obvious to me since just shortly after she told me about him. I look forward to the day of meeting and fellowshipping with him in person.

God made us very passionate people. We direct it in many different ways in our life. Just because someone doesnt choose us doesnt mean we are devalued. If we really feel that way, then maybe we need to take a close look at why we feel that way.

There is no reason to. There is no condemnation in Jesus Christ. These people were meant for each other. I believe they did everything as God wished for them to do. They are meant to be together and are and will be. They may in a way wish I had not said anything, but I Love them and as a friend I feel I must.

I also think I owe it to the other guy to point this out. I think if he steps back he may just see that since he felt hurt, just maybe he will realize his hurts are what lead him to make those coments.

How is Marriage and the Holy Spirit alike ? Apr 28, 2006 4:04 pm
1013 Views
When we get married we become one before God as man and wife.

When we acknowledge Jesus Christ as savior of the world, repent of our sins and ask him to dwell in us...Jesus is inside of us as well as the Holy Spirit.

When we are married we share many things such as going to dinner, small talk, travels, goals etc.

As Christians we share the same type of things with the Holy Spirit

Our deeper intimacy in our marriage is found in the act culminating in Lovemaking. We bare ourselves together and share in an act made by God to be a blessing in many ways and intended to create the closest of joining that a man and a woman can have.

It is the same with the Holy Spirit. When we become intimate with him, the emotions and closeness that we were made to have are as deep as we can have on this earth. Some speak of visitations by the Holy Spirit. He resides in you. There is no visitation when he is part of you. However it is up to you how intimate you are with him, just as it is in a marriage.

I think Thats one of the reasons we as the body of Christ are called the bride....so will we be intimate with the groom? Thats how its intended to be. Thats where the blessings are that are culminated from everyday life.

So many people say well...the sex isnt that important, its the companionship.

Well they are cheating themselves out of God's blessings for them.

Its the same way when the body of Christ has a headache when he is always wanting inimacy with us.

Isnt History a Hoot? Apr 28, 2006 11:46 am

History

Ain't History a Hoot?!!
Life in the 1500's
The
next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water
temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things used to
be. Here are some facts about the 1500s:
These are interesting...
Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in
May, and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting
to smell, so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor.
Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married.
Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the
house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other
sons and men, then the women and finally the children Last of all
the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose
someone in it. Hence the saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the
bath water."
Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled
high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get
warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the
roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would
slip and off the roof. Hence the saying "It's raining cats and dogs."
There was nothing to stop things from falling into the
house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other
droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big
posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's
how canopy beds came into existence.
The floor was dirt.
Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying "dirt
poor." The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the
winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep
their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until when
you opened the door it would all start slipping outside. A piece of
wood was placed in the entranceway. Hence the saying a "thresh hold."
(Getting quite an education, aren't you?)
In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that
always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things
to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat.
They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get
cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had
food in it that had been there for quite a while.
Hence the rhyme, "Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge
in the pot nine days old."
Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special.
When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It
was a sign of wealth that a man could "bring home the bacon." They
would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around
and "chew the fat."
Those with money had plates made of
pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach
onto the food, causing lead poisoning death. This happened most often
with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were
considered poisonous.
Bread was divided according to
status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the
middle, and guests got the top, or "upper crust."
Lead
cups were used to drink ale or whiskey. The combination would sometimes
knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the
road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were
laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would
gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up.
Hence the custom of holding a "wake."
England
is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to
bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a
"bone-house" and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out
of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they
realized they had been burying people alive. So they would tie a string
on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up
through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out
in the graveyard all night (the "graveyard shift") to listen for the
bell; thus, someone could be "saved by the bell" or was considered a
"dead ringer."
And that's the truth... Now, whoever said that History was boring ! ! !
Educate someone...Share these facts with a friend

If You knew Jean like I do..... Apr 27, 2006 2:46 pm

Jean and I have talked for hours on the phone...almost everyday for the past 4 months. Maybe longer. Its so funny in a way. She had finally went to sleep her first night there when I had gotten up at around 6am eastern standard time. I noticed she had called my cell phone and I had to know.

I feel like its ok to tell this because as Jean has been a tremendous blessing in my life, I felt so honored she has let me in on all of this.

So I called her about 6am central time as I could no longer take not knowing. Jean loves me so I know I could wake her up! She was exausted but.....you could feel the life gushing from me. She went on to tell me how Ed was so much more than the standards she believed God had set for the man she believed he was bringing. I had to pry it out of her...did he ask her to marry him. I dont know if i was the first to know, that certainly isnt important....but she went on gushing about how wonderful Ed is and more so how deeply God had blessed her.

Jean helped me in my journey and sometime I will explain that. Her time is now. I want to try and share how much it means to me what has happened because of my friendship with Jean. Jean and I have the same type of gifting. She is a much gentler kinder version of me, although she says Mercy has had a softening effect on me.

A few months ago someone hurt Jean very badly. I wanted to go up and smack him. Being the protector type. I listened to Jeans immense pain and we cried together as close friends do. That man was heartless and clueless. But its all part of walking through the Journey.

I think people can learn alot from Jean. She sought God. he gave her a list of what to be looking for so she would be having a good clue when men approached her as to what that man he was bringing.....she was seeking God's best.

Words can not express to you what this woman went through. She believed in her heart that the Lord had spoken to her that he was bringing that special man to her in the year 2006. Personally I am a little leary of that stuff but that is between others and God. He works differently in each of our lives.

Well Jean had been corresponding with a few great guys here. She really liked them but there was just something that was not clicking as to being the right person. She really liked and respected these men. But the Spirit was saying no.

Then out of the blue came Ed. She was so excited right off of the bat. She shared how when they talked, they kind of challenged fate if you will in right away getting to the nitty gritty in their beliefs and dreams. I think they both looked closely. Its ok for me to say this now because they are engaged. She was in Love with this mans spirit in almost no time.

God made a way for her to financially go see Ed. He used people here at BC in many ways and I hope those of you who prayed and also contributed can feel the blessings of manifested faith in action on your part. You were part of this miracle. God Bless You!!!!!!! I know thats how Jean feels. God Bless You!!!!!!!!!!

It wasnt all easy along the way. They were both nervous. They were both humbled by the thought of meeting. Both were concerned the other for some reason might not be so excited when they finally met.

Jean called me from the airport in Buffalo. What an honor to be used in this situation as an encourager. Tears come to my eyes as i think of the conversation. They had to change her flight to another company to catch her connecting flight in Atlanta. She was worried her luggage might get lost...I reassured it would be ok....It did get lost by the way LOL. I dont know for sure if she got it yet. See sometimes even the best intentions of trying to reassure go by the wayside.

Then...there is Ed...getting at the airport in Oklahoma 2 hours in advance. Isnt that awesome? God bless him. Of course as he mentioned in his blog her flight was late. Talk about anticipation huh?

Well I am sure you read their blog...they were overwhelmed by how much God had blessed them both. Perfect match in the spirit.

I wish I could tell you about Jeans last ten years of her marriage. She lived for Jesus 100% because there wasnt Love there. She daily died to the Lord as she was in a thankless situation. Thats as far as I will go.

But to cry deeply with this sister in the Lord as she shared her pain and hurts with me....the lowest of the lows and dissappointments for her...to pray together and now to see this happen. Words can not justify my Joy for She and Ed.

I know this is God. Wait on him. Let him live through you. Embrace his Love. Thats what Jean did and the reward can not be expressed properly from a God that loves her so much. Her dreams of serving the Lord in a fulltime ministry is around the corner. Jean is not one to desire roots. She wants to be free to be where jesus wants her. I believe Ed is the perfect man for her.

Wednesday night she attended his church where he preached. She said it was so awesome to hear the powerful spirit flow through this man. She can not thank God enough. Is this not wonderful? Praise God!

Congress is calling for an investigation into the American Oil Companies...

Lets see the Oil Companies make 7 cents a gallon profit

The Federal and state taxes are ten times that amount...and they arent budging
The people we buy our oil from is making over $1.40 a gallon for each gallon we sell and they dont live here.

We have 3 times the oil just in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming than the whole middle east has combined

Congress made laws that we were not allowed to drill for our own oil in America and that was all from lobbying and money from so called ecologists.

The drilling in those states would be in areas that would not hurt anything and about the size of a quarter on a football field

Bush has been vehemiently pushing for Congress to change these laws but they wont. So who are these people that are supposed to be looking out for your best interest? People who dont represnt your best interests but represent who gives them the most money and keeps them in office.

Bush also has continually asked that little used Military bases be turned into refineries. Congress again refuses. If we used our own Oil and had our own refineries like we should...gas would be 1.00 a gallon again. We havent built one refinery in over 30 years...while France has built close to 40...yes that little spec.

Yet the Oil companies in America are blamed. They are making 5% less this year than last year.

The President is blamed while he is trying to get congress to do what is in the very best interests of America.

We do not nor would we ever need Oil from another country.

Big bussiness is not your enemy...it provides Jobs and fuels needs and economy.

It is sickening.
