ALL WHOM THE LORD OUR GOD SHALL CALL shall come to salvation,...it is a gift, undeserved, no works May 8, 2008 7:24 pm

Acts 3:38,39

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call

2 Corinthians 5:14-15
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto
themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

All is refering to the elect called of God who from all eternity God knew whom He had chosen to be the elect and the eternal plan of redemption was carried out to reclaim "all" He had chosen. Therefore, the "all" to Him is the all for which He intended the death of Christ to atone. The Lord knows who are his

Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.I and my Father are one.

2 Timothy 2:19

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Matt. 7:21-23

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

God only knows believers, not unbelievers. THESE PEOPLE CLEARLY ARE NOT SAVED EVEN THOUGH THEY CLaim TO KNOW GOD AND DO WORKS IN HIS NAME.

1 Corinthians 15:22-23

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming

Who are the ones who will be made alive? They are the Christians and only the Christians. First of all, to be "in Christ" is a phrase that describes a saving relationship between the redeemed and the Redeemer.

Rom. 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

1 Cor. 6:14

And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

The "all" that died in Adam were all that Adam represented: every individual who ever lived. Those "in Christ" are only believers. The "all" therefore can only be the believers, because it says "in Christ all shall be made alive." If all shall be made alive, then the "all" can only mean the believers because only believers are made alive in Christ

Romans 5:9

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Adam's sin resulted in condemnation to all
Jesus' sacrifice resulted in justification to all
Only the saved are justified.

Since the Scriptures clearly teach that not all men are saved we know that the "all" in this verse can't refer to every individual.

Romans 5:15-19

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Bible says that faith is a gift from God (Rom. 12:3); that it is God who grants belief (Phil. 1:29); it is God who produces belief in a person (John 6:29); and only those appointed to eternal life by God are the ones who believe (Acts 13:4.

Also, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Rom. 10:17). In order for someone to believe, they must hear the gospel of Jesus (1 Cor. 15:1-4) because the gospel is the power of God for salvation (Rom. 1:16). There is no other name under heaven besides Jesus by which anyone may be saved (Act 4:12). And, one must receive Jesus (John 1:12) in order to be saved.

John 12:32

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me

Romans 8:32

"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?"

The question again here is, who are the "all"? Clearly the all are all that the Lord our God shall call. those who are called are chosen and become the Good Shepherds sheep.

Romans 8:28-34

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

1 Timothy 2:3-6

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Jesus is the mediator for the believers, not the unbelievers. "Men" in this verse can only mean the elect, the Christians.

If the sins of every individual are actually taken away, then why do any go to hell? After all, aren't all the sins taken away? Jesus died only for his sheep. Those he calls out of the world. Many die in their sins. The blood of Jesus doe not apply to the unregenerate. You must be born of the holy Spirit to be saved. Believing a form of the gospel is not salvation. Satan believes the gospel but he is not born of God. He is not a new creature in Christ. All the unregenerate are Satan's children with his nature and they will die in their sins. No flesh can glory in themselves. Salvation is of God alone. He chose you if you are born again.

John 1:29

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Did Jesus take away all sin from every one ever born or only those born of God?

John 6:33

For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world

John 6:51

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Only the Christian receive life and so this verse means all that are called out of the world.

Partaking of the Lord's Supper does not guarantee salvation. To eat the bread of Jesus means that it must be done by faith, which only the Christian has, only those who are appointed to eternal life believe with THE HEART UNTO SALVATION. This is not intellectual belief but heart faith. Spiritual understanding.

Rom.15:9

But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear ) unto this day. And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

It cannot mean that every individual is reconciled to God; otherwise, everyone would be saved. God allows people to be blinded to the gospel by Satan. The bible clearly says this. To deny this truth is to deny the gospel.

2 Cor. 5:19

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Again Paul speaks of God reconciling the world to Himself. This is all who god calls out of the world. The word all is not synonomiss with every single person in the world but rather all called out of the world.

Matt. 26:28

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins

John 10:15-17

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

Both these verses specifically state that Jesus laid His life down for the sheep (Christians) as opposed to the goats (non-Christians)

John 17:9

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

Jesus is making a distinction in His prayers to the Father in regard to who is being asked for. It is the ones whom the Father gives to the Son that are being prayed for. The whole of John 17 bears this out. Jesus is not praying for everyone. His prayers are "limited" and his atonement is limited. Jesus did not shed his blood for those in their sins. The unregenerate spend eternity separate from God.God chooses and we should be very grateful because none of us deserve salvation. Only his blood shed for us is what is precious. We are filthy rags in his sight and God alone is worthy of praise. We will cast our crowns at his feet.

Rom. 8:32

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

The "all" here can only mean the believers. Paul is speaking of the saved which is why he says that God will "freely give us all things".

Isaiah 53:12

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors

many notice.... but not all

Heb. 9:28

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation

(Again, another verse that says that Jesus bore the sins of many, not all)

When God wants all men to be saved, they are. God predestines. He died for those He predestined. And He has been working from all eternity to atone for, sanctify, and glorify His elect. It will occur because God has ordained it so. All who the Lord our God shall call will be saved!

INTOLERANCE AND THE BATTLE FOR TRUTH. May 7, 2008 6:36 am
251 Views
The truth is intolerant. The truth is unbending, it is unyielding, it is exclusive. The truth of God is offensive to the sinner. God hath not left Himself without witness in this perverse and crooked generation. His word the Holy Bible is the truth and JESUS CHRIST is the author of truth. His name is above every name and every opinion of man. Anything that contradicts His word (the bible) is a Satanic lie.

The Christian must use the word of God as a sword and cast down all of the devils lies. The bible is the Christians weapon against false doctrine and is used to set the captive of Satan's lies free from the enemies deception.

The Christian makes no apology for speaking the truth for we love the sinner and want to see him set free from deception and come into the truth of Gods word by being translated in the kingdom of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The truth will set you free!

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

II Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to THE PULLING DOWN OF STRONG HOLDS Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle NOT against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 2 Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Protests 'to get more violent' May 5, 2008 10:33 pm

Gov't unprepared for radical action, security expert says

Diverse protest groups will join forces at the 2010 Olympics amid an upsurge of violence, says a former RCMP intelligence and national-security expert.

Tom Quiggin says anarchists, native warrior groups, poverty activists, anti-capitalists and students will come together in Vancouver for the Winter Games.

"A convergence among a number of groups has occurred," said Quiggin, writing from Israel last month in a report for the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism.

Vancouver police stand guard during a February speech by International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge.

Vancouver police stand guard during a February speech by International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge.

"More social-activist groups appear to have shifted their focus from traditional issues and are taking on a more radical perspective," he said.

"Numerous groups have already begun violent activities and further organization may occur against the background of a troubled global picture."

Quiggin said three major international events in Canada will be targeted in 2010 -- meetings of the G8 group of developed nations and of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, as well as the Olympics.

He said there have been 19 attacks already in Canada "where violence has been used," such as throwing objects and destroying property.

"A clear upturn in violent protest activity is occurring. It is unprecedented to see this kind of forward planning by activists," said Quiggin, an expert in jihadist terrorism who has spent 20 years in various intelligence positions in Canada and the U.S., as well as other countries.

"Most disturbingly, there has been an increased identification of public and private figures by name in numerous postings which announce or encourage violence," he said.

"These attacks have been aimed at senior company officials as well as other employees."

Quiggin said attacks related to the 2010 Games have included:

- Spray-painting and throwing objects at the Olympic clock outside the Vancouver Art Galley.

- Stealing the Olympic flag outside Vancouver City Hall.

- Nine instances across Canada of breaking windows at bank branches of the Royal Bank of Canada, an Olympic sponsor.

- Paint bombs thrown at the Olympic clock in Ottawa.

- Vancouver Organizing Committee signs hit with paint.

Quiggin said issues sparking diverse groups include the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, globalization and the potential downturn in the economy.

He said it is not too late to acquire the base of "knowledge" needed to respond to the threats, but authorities are moving slowly.

"The federal government does not appear to be actively engaged in monitoring or reacting to such issues. The apparatus that should be dealing with security issues related to the Olympics is in more of a set-up phase than an operational phase," he said.

"A number of actions can be undertaken now which would serve to mitigate the issues.

"If these are not taken, the problem will become increasingly unmanageable as the events approach," he said.

Neither RCMP nor 2010 Games officials were available to comment.

IS WORD OF FAITH A CULT? May 1, 2008 11:06 am

There is a cult that has been around for several years now that is almost indistinguishable from the more fundamental Pentecostal groups. Like the United Pentecostal Cult it has been widely accepted by themtoo. It has wormed its way into mainline Christendom. Its preachers are slick. It plays one the emotions. It promises health and wealth. It uses occult techniques. It has gone too far away from the Biblical truth. It passes all 3 tests for a cult

1) It adds and takes away from the Word of God

2)It dethrones God

3)It teaches another way of salvation.

God's Word says 2 Peter 2:1-3: "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord thatbought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shallthey with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingerethnot, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Kenneth Copeland SAYS "God's reason for creating Adam was His desire to reproduce Himself. I mean a reproduction of Himself, and in the Garden of Eden He did just that. He was not a little like God. He was not almost like God. He was not subordinate to God even....ADAM IS AS MUCH LIKE GOD AS YOU COULD GET, JUST THE SAME AS JESUS....Adam, in the Garden of Eden, was God manifested in the flesh." Following the Faith of Abraham I,

Paul Crouch, speaking to Kenneth Copeland, said:"Somebody said--I don't know who said it--but they claim that you Faith teachers declare that we are gods. You're a god. I'm a god. Small 'g' now, but we are the gods of this world....Well, are you a god ....small 'g'?"

To this, Jan Crouch, referring to Copeland, enthusiastically exclaimed: "He's gonna say, 'Yes.' I love it." "Praise the Lord" February1986

God's Word SAYS: 1 Corinthians 8:5-6: For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him.

John 3:12-13

You're a child of God, aren't you? You're a daughter of God, aren't you? What else are you? Quit your nonsense! What else are you? If you say, 'I am' you're saying I'm a part of Him, right? Is He God? Are you His offspring? Are you His children? You can't be human! You can't! You can't! God didn't give birth to flesh. He gave birth to a new creation. Don't tell me you have Jesus. You are everything He was and everything He is and ever He shall be....It [the new man] says, 'I am as He is.' That's what it says. As He is, so are we in this world. Jesus said, 'Go in my name, go in my stead.' Don't say, 'I have.' Say, 'I am, I am, I am, I am, I am.' That's why you never ever, ever, ever ought to say. 'I'm sick.' Luke 1:67-72

And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for he has visited and redeemed his people,
And has raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David,
As he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us,
To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant

Blessed Be Your Nameby Matt Redman

Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name

BLESS ME...BLESS ME....DO YOU FOLLOW JESUS JUST FOR THE FISH AND THE LOAVES? Apr 30, 2008 11:57 am

God wants to lift up Jesus Christ and glorify him. Time to preach a God centered gospel. It is not all about blessings, but taking up the cross and following him. How blessed are the persecuted church with this worlds goods? Not very. Rather the joy that they have is in knowing in whom they have believed and put their trust in. THE JOY WE HAVE AS CHRISTIANS IS BEING IN HIS PRESENCE. He will keep HIS PEOPLE and deliver them in times of trouble. That deliverance may even be death. Gods blessings are gifts and we do not have to obey the law to recieve them (be good enough)

The ego centered gospel is a very subtle false gospel. Jesus is Lord! And sometimes like Job we suffer according to the will of God.

1 Peter 4:19

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Job lost all his children and his wife. Jesus saud to not love this world..OR ANYTHING IN THE WORLD. This is why we have false conversions...people want the fish and the loaves and so become christians to GET GET GET... I have known quite a few actually. When persecution arises for the words sake they get offended and off they flee. If you look at all the prophecies on the Elijah list you will see so many God wants to bless you themes...

Jesus said IN THIS LIFE YOU WILL HAVE TRIBULATION. MOST OF THOSE WORDS ARE FALSE WORDS...READ JEREMIAH. THE PROPHETS WHO SAY PEACE PEACE WHEN THERE IS NO PEACE. IT IS TIME FOR ANTI CHRIST TO BE REVEALED AND THE NORTH AMERICAN SELF CENTERED LAODECIA CHURCH WILL FOLLOW HIM THINKING THEY ARE SERVING GOD. HE WILL BE FILLED WITH ALOT OF FALSE PROMISES AND FALSE BLESSINGS. THE REAL MESSAGE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THIS TIME IS wake out of sleep.....the return of our lord is near!

God is and will continue to expose these false blessing blessing ministries....when you see more natural disasters, more plagues, more signs in the earth that judgement is coming to a head and see more Christians dying for there faith in Christ then you will know where the wind of the Spirit is blowing.......want to be blessed by God? Set your affections above and not on the earth, for it will pass away. Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven...for where your treasure is there will your heart be also

The false prophetic God wants to bless you messages are used by all kinds of preachers for all kinds of reasons(usually manipulative) and they are only part of Gods gospel.

They say that God wants to bless everyone as long as they obey him. (usually to give to their ministry) A half truth. God blesses whom he chooses to bless and it is not based on keeping the law. He blesses sinners because he desires to. Laodecia is fat, lazy, and blind. God does not need mammon to preach the gospel. He is not limited. Commited Christians have and are sacrificing to preach the gospel to those in other lands.

God is not a genie to give you every thing you desire. He said to be content. Yes, he may decide to bless you in a particular way but that is not the bases of our faith in him. Eternal values far exceed this worlds blessings.

I will not preach the false positive prosperity gospel. Jesus preached that men will be judged for sin and men are under a state of condemnation without Jesus Christ. To say other wise is to preach a one sided gospel which is error.

1 John Chapter 2: 15,17

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Proverbs 23:3-5

Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven

Matthew 6:19-22

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also

Matthew 6:22-24

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

What happens to those who haven't heard the gospel when they die? Do the un evangelized go to hell?

Can God be considered loving and just if He fails to provide large numbers of people with an opportunity for salvation through Jesus Christ?

If the un evangelized have an opportunity for salvation, how is it made available to them?

"Un evangelized" means those outside of Christianity who have never heard the gospel. It does not mean simply those who haven't responded positively to the gospel......What do you think?

What happens to all the un evangelized souls since the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ? Do they all go to heaven or do the
unevangelized go to hell?

Is God unjust to send those who have never heard the gospel to hell or is God sovereign and elect many but not all to salvation? Any thoughts?

The Bird Cage .....What were you set free from if you are already free? Apr 29, 2008 10:30 am

Athour unknown

There once was a pastor in a small New England town. One Easter Sunday morning he came to the Church carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Several eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, Pastor Thomas began to speak.

"I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me, swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright. I stopped the lad and asked, "What you got there son?"

"Just some old birds," came the reply.

"What are you gonna do with them?" I asked.

"Take 'em home and have fun with 'em. I'm gonna tease 'em and pull out their feathers to make 'em fight. I'm gonna have a real good time."

"But you'll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do then?"

"Oh, I got some cats. They like birds. I'll take 'em to them."

The pastor was silent for a moment. "How much do you want for those birds, son?"

"Huh??!!! Why, you don't want them birds, mister. They're just plain old field birds. They don't sing - they ain't even pretty!"

"How much?"

The boy sized up the pastor as if he were crazy and said, "$10?".

The pastor reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in the boy's hand. In a flash, the boy was gone.

The pastor picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot. Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, setting them free.

Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the pastor began to tell this story.

One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting.

"Yes, sir, I just caught the world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!"

"What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked.

"Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other. How to hate and abuse each other. How to drink and smoke and curse. How to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!"

"And what will you do when you get done with them?", Jesus asked.

"Oh, I'll kill 'em."

"How much do you want for them?"

"Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you!! You don't want those people!!"

"How much?"

Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your tears, and all your blood." Jesus paid the price!

The pastor picked up the cage, he opened the door, and he walked from the pulpit.

1 Peter 1:18-19

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Man's Will by Nature is Sinful and Therefore only Free to sin. Apr 29, 2008 9:24 am

Many believe that man, by his free will, by something that resides in him, is completely able to independently accept or reject God. But this belief is not supported in scripture. Man's will by nature is sinful. What then will a sinful free will choose? It will choose sin. Mans free will would never allow Him to reach out to God.

But What is free will? Generally it is accepted to mean the freedom to choose according to one's desires. This seems true. But someone is only as free as his nature is free. His will is limited to that which is within his nature. The unregenerate can only choose what his nature allows him to choose. Since he is full of sin, not goodness, his choices can only be sinful.

In other words, a person can choose to do only that which his nature allows him to do. He cannot simply will to suddenly vanish into thin air or fly like Superman because he is incapable of such feats; his nature limits him. So too with the nature of fallen man. He is severely limited by what he can and cannot do.

The sinful man

Cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14).

is full of evil (Mark 7:21-23).

does not seek for God (Rom. 3:11).

is lawless, rebellious, unholy, and profane (1 Tim. 1:9).

How then can the good desire to want God come out of the unsaved's evil heart? It cannot! How is he able, in his sinful free will, to desire God when his inclinations are always to reject Him? He cannot. How can he, with his blind and sinful will that is deadened, hardened, and enslaved by sin (Rom. 6:20) ever choose God? He cannot! It is impossible. That's why Jesus said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" Matthew 19:26,

But some still maintain that God works on a person and slowly teaches and guides him or her into believing. Others say that there is something in a person's free will that enables him to choose God. They maintain that everyone is equally able to accept or reject. But if they are equally free and equally able, then why don't they all equally accept God, or why don't they all equally choose to reject Him? Why are there variations in choice?

Are the variations a result of a tendency that God gave them? But God made them that way. Is it because of their environment? But God put them there. Is it because of some physical inclination? But God gave them their bodies. Is it because of their parents' influence? But God gave them their parents.

The fact remains, man is not entirely free; he is sinfully free. The unsaved can act freely, but only within the limits of their sinful nature which cannot understand spiritual things

(1 Cor. 2:14), does not seek for God (Rom. 3:11), hates God, and is in slavery to sin (Rom. 6:17,20), etc. That is why Jesus said, "No one can come to Me, unless the Father who sent Me draws him..." (John 6:44), and, "No one can come to Me, unless it has been granted him from the Father" (John 6:65). These are not the statements one would hope to find if the sinner were so free to choose to accept or reject God.

Those who the Father calls and draws to Jesus will come to him and those who come to him he will never cast away! Sola scriptura!

The Result of Man's Sinful Condition Apr 28, 2008 9:19 am

Because of man's sinfulness, he is unable to understand God, seek God, or do any thing good: "...both Jews and Greeks are all under sin as it is written, 'There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God; all have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none who does good, there is not even one'" (Rom. 3:9-12).

Because of his sinfulness, man loves darkness rather than light; he loves evil rather than good: "And this is the judgment, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil" (John 3:19).

Because of his depravity,( corruption ) he is incapable of accepting the things of God or understanding them: "But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised" (1 Cor. 2:14). The natural man is the unregenerate man. The natural man cannot understand the things of God. Notice it does not say, "has trouble understanding," or "can if he's sincere," or "will be able to if he chooses God." It says he cannot understand.

Salvation is one of those "things of God," and so is the understanding of being lost, of being a sinner, of needing repentance, etc. All of these are out of reach of the natural man. He cannot understand them.

So, in light of these scriptures, how can an unbeliever come to an understanding that he needs salvation if the Bible teaches that he cannot understand his need (1 Cor. 2:14), that his nature is evil (Mark 7:21-23) and that he does not seek God (Rom. 3:11)? It would seem that man's sinful condition does not permit him to desire, understand, or want God,

John 6:63-65

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father
