After living what I felt was a 'decent' life, my time on earth came to the end. The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a court house.

The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table. As I looked around I saw the prosecutor. He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me.

He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen.I sat down and looked to my left and there sat My Attorney, a kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to me,I felt I knew Him.

The corner door flew open and there appeared the Judge in full flowing robes. He commanded an awesome presence as He moved across the room I couldn't take my eyes off of Him.

As He took His seat behind the bench, He said, 'Let us begin.'

The prosecutor rose and said, 'My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this man belongs in hell.'

He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things that I stole, and In the past when I cheated
others. Satan told of other horrible perversions that were once in my life and the more he spoke, the further down in my seat I sank. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own Attorney, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at My
Attorney who sat there silently not offering any form of defense at all. I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had done some good in my life , couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I'd done?

Satan finished with a fury and said, 'This man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise.'

When it was His turn, My Attorney first asked if He might approach the bench. The Judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned Him to come forward.

As He got up and started walking, I was able to see Him in His full splendor and majesty. I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior.
He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge, 'Hi, Dad,' and then He turned to address the court.

'Satan was correct in saying that this man had sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And, yes, the wage of sin is death, and this man deserves to be punished.'

Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, 'However, I died on the cross so that this person might have eternal life and he has accepted Me as his Savior, so he is Mine.'

My Lord continued with, 'His name is written in the book of life and no one can snatch him from Me. Satan still does not understand yet. This man is not to be given justice, but rather mercy.'

As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at His Father and said,'There is nothing else that needs to be done. I've done it all'

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The following words bellowed from His lips.'This man is free. The penalty for him has already been paid in full. Case dismissed.'

As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving, 'I won't give up, I will win the next one.'

I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where to go next, 'Have you ever lost a case?'
Christ lovingly smiled and said, 'Everyone that has come to Me and asked Me to represent them has received the same verdict as you,

Jesus is the Redeemer, that you may "HAVE REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD, THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, ACCORDING TO THE RICHES OF HIS GRACE," (Eph. 1: 7 )

For it is written, "As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name," (John 1: 12 )

We are justified freely as sinners, and being accepted in the Beloved, we become sons of God, and have the new nature born again experience, and become His children.

The blood of Jesus is the groundwork of peace. People may know that there is no other way of being saved but by the blood of Christ but the devils know this, and it avails them nothing.

The born again Christian is saved absolutely, totally, perfectly, and eternally saved. There is no such thing as being partly saved and partly lost. There are only two states, and we must be in either the one or the other.

God has said, "When I see the blood, I will pass over you," (Exod. 12:13 )

The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus Christ. He makes us to know about and to grow in the Lord. He bears witness to Jesus Christ and takes of the things of Jesus Christ, and shews them to us.He is the power of communion, the seal, the witness, the earnest, the unction. His operations are essential and Without Him, we can neither see, hear, know, feel, experience, enjoy, nor exhibit anything of Jesus Christ.

The work of the Spirit is not the ground of peace, though He enables us to enjoy the peace. He is not our title, though He reveals our title, and enables us to enjoy it.

The Holy Spirit is still carrying on His work in the soul of the Christian. He 'maketh intercession with groanings which cannot be uttered,' (Rom. 8:26). He labours to bring us into more entire conformity to the Lord Jesus Christ. His aim is "to present every man perfect in Christ", (Col. 1:28 ) His work in and with us will not be complete until we have left this present world, and taken our place with Christ in glory.

The work of Christ for us is absolutely and eternally complete. He could say, "I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do," (John 17:4); and, again, "IT IS FINISHED," (John 19:30)

The holy Spirit still works in the hearts of the Christian in order to conform the character of Jessu Christ in them but He never teaches a soul to lean on His work for peace in the area of divine holiness. His office is to speak of Jesus. He does not speak of Himself. 'He,' says Christ, "shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you," (John 16:4 )

the holy Spirit can only present Christ's work as the solid basis on which the soul must rest for ever. In whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, (Eph. 1:13 )

The blood of Jesus shed for the remission of sins is what saves. Grace alone with no works constitutes salvation. Jesus is God come in the flesh. Jesus died for sinners. The just for the unjust. All have sinned...no one is righteous in and of themselves. Christ is our only righteousness. Jesus died for the sinner...the ungodly, the witches, warlocks, greedy persons, liars, thieves, all who admit they are sinners.

Christ is the righteousness of the redeemed. Only the blood of the lamb shed can wash away all sin. We must confess we are sinners before God will save us.....if we confess our sins he will be faithful and just to forgive us our sin.

Repentance is a gift...God grants repentance to the acknowledging of the truth. God calls his sheep out of darkness. Faith is a gift...faith is a divine impartation of the holy Ghost.

We must be born again, born of God to be saved. we must be partakers of the divine nature...THIS IS THE MYSTERY OF THE GOSPEL...CHRIST IN YOU THE HOPE OF GLORY...IF ONE DOES NOT HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT INDWELLING THEM THEY ARE NOT SAVED.

I know how this spirit operates very well. The last church I went to a woman waltzed in one day and presented herself as some great prophetess of God. She always fawned over people and flattered them, in the name of God of course with flattering words. After a time she won the affection of many in the church, including the pastor and his wife. I watched this happen and all along the holy Spirit showed me that she was a little fox whose motives were to establish her own ministry in order to get the admiration of the people and make disciples unto herself. That is exactly what she did.

Pretty soon people were coming to her for ministry
and she would pray for them and prophecy to their tickling ears about how they were so hurt and so needy and how Jesus longed to bring them healing. Sounds good but only one problem...she wanted them to stay weak and dependent upon her. She was Gods healing arm to them. Never did she tell them how they could grow in Jesus for themselves and never did she encourage maturity but oh how weak her flock was and how they needed love and understanding.

Many of her prophecies were very outlandish and to be honest down right fabrications of her wild imagination. She always talked as if only she has a hot line to God and only she was his healing vessel in the church. If another ministry that encouraged the people to grow up in the lord came along, she would find a way to discredit it. And oh how she hated the true prophetic that would point out the sins and idols of peoples hearts. She would oppose them big time. Don't be so judgmental on these poor needy sheep. They neeeeed love.

All along the holy Spirit is showing me the little fox is staring to burrow. Course when God shows you something when the whole congregation is seeing something else one tends to wonder if maybe they are just imagining this discernment they are having.

Well one day, a little band of prophets whom the Lord was also showing the manifestations of the sneaky fox went to see the pastor to give him warning. How those prophets were chastised for such judgment on a woman of God....

I also went when I mustered enough courage, and tried to warn them, so did another pastor and his wife. Would they listen??? Nooooooo. This sneaky fox burrowed her way right in to a pastor ordination and became the right hand of the pastor. You would think that the two were married thats how chummy they became.

Pretty soon the church began to change. The walls were now painted a bright yellow and Grecian plant holders with flowing vines appeared all over the building.The goddess Mia (hanging on a cross of course, but not with a crown of thorns on her head but a wreath of leaves) Crystals began to show up hanging on the ceiling, and lo and behold a yellow veil appeared around the worship band one Sunday morning. Strange weird paintings appeared with supposed prophetic images now hung about the church...the cross was gone...no more Jesus flag.

That was the last straw for me....I confronted the little fox head on.....boy was I attacked. So the church did not hear and I left the church. Within 6 months the pastor got sick, the prophetess was exposed, the church fell financially and then members began to come up to me and say...you were right about the little fox.

You see just because someone says that they are a Christian does not mean that they are. Just because someone flatters with the mouth and goes about telling every one how wonderful they are does not mean they are a true exhorter, and just because they cry out ...walk in love and don't judge, does not not mean that their motives are right. You see that little fox appears in many Christian circles...and when they can they will try to trample on a work of God to bring in the counterfeit....and alway and I mean always oppose the true prophetic.

That spirit I know well and I know that it may try to burrow into Christ's body and make a stronghold but the Lord will always dig it up! You see light exposes darkness and truth reveals error. Gods sheep know HIS VOICE and the voice of a stranger they will not follow. Serve Jesus folks. Trust in him. Grow in him. Cling to him. You do not need Moses because the veil is torn in two...you do not need these self appointed prophets or prophetesses whom only like Simon want the power of God to be seen as great ones in the Kingdom. The greatest is the servant and with the lowliest is where Gods holy spirit dwells!

To get around the obvious conclusion that Yom in Genesis 1 can mean millions of years, young earth theorists have come up with several arguments, none of which is supported by common Hebrew grammatical rules according to Hebrew experts (such as Dr. Walter Kaiser). These rules were created by Hebrew language experts who are young earth creationists to begin with, thus their viewpoint is obviously biased. They have a specific agenda they are trying to prove, and thus cannot be objective.

Ordinals/Cardinals

Young earth creationists say that whenever Yom is used with an ordinal or cardinal number (1st, 2nd, 1,2, etc) that it always represents a 24 hour day. However, this is not true. In Zechariah 14 : 7-9 , the "one day" refers to a period of time when the Lord shall be king over the earth. In other places, some say that Isaiah and Hosea have numbers with the word day which are figurative.

Some young earth theorists, including Jonathan Sarfati in his book Refuting Compromise, have addressed this verse in Zechariah and Hosea. Although his argument sounds impressive, you have to recognize it for what it is...he is arguing for his young earth agenda, thus any rules that he espouses must be examined by true Hebrew scholars who are impartial. Hebrew scholars do not recognize this fabricated rule. 1

What Sarfati thinks is not important...what is important, as Dr. Walter Kaiser points out, is the intentions of the author. We should not create rules that support our own agendas, but should strive to understand the author's intended meaning outside of rules.

Evening/Morning Construction

In Genesis 1 Moses says "and there was evening and morning the next day". Does the use of evening and morning indicate a sunrise and sunset for each creative day? First, let's look at what evening and morning are not. They are not actual evening and mornings, as this requires a sunrise and sunset. According to young earth theory, the Sun was not created until Day Four, thus there could be no sunrise or sunset for the first three days of creation. However, God uses the terms evening and morning for those first three days. Therefore, they cannot be actual evenings and mornings.

We are left with only one option. The words for Evening and Morning can only represent the beginning and ending of the creative period, and not actual sunrise and sunsets. Scripture itself sets this pattern for us. Morning and evening are used figuratively in Psalm 30:5, Psalm 49:14,15, Psalm 90:6. Thus, the evening and morning of creation can mean the start and end of the creative process that is attributed to that creation period.

Young earth advocates counter that traditionally, church fathers have always held that sunrise and sunsets do not constitute a day, and they accepted the sun creation on Day Four with no hint of the first three days being anything other than 24-hour days. For instance, Sarfati in Refuting Compromise mentions Luther and Calvin (page 84-86). However, Luther and Calvin did not have the means of modern science at their disposal. At the time, geocentricity was still accepted!

Literal/Figurative Argument

This argument says that you cannot use a word figuratively until after you have used it literally. The author gives two examples, which appear to be correct and follow this rule. However, is this rule valid? I see no reason to suppose that it is. You have to be careful with young earth claims about biblical interpretation methods. Again, they will invent rules that support their cause, when there is no basis for their rule in Hebrew.

In this case, it makes no difference which order the word Yom appears in, literal before figurative or vice versa. Yes, these are the first words of the Bible, but they are not the first words of mankind. All the time from Adam to Moses, men were speaking in their own languages, thus the literal interpretation via spoken language would already have been established. There was no need to suppose a literal/figurative structure.


If God's Creation Was Billions of Years Old...


If God's creation was billions of years old, how would He have written the creation account in Genesis? One thing is certain...God is good at telling us exactly what we need to know.

When God refers to a large number, He uses picture stories, such as Abraham's descendants being as numerous as the sand. Why does He do this? If God had said, "You will have millions of descendants," Abraham would have asked, "What is a million?"

When considering the creation, if we broke it down into days, that would be 5,000,500,000,000 days, or roughly 13.7 billion years. Do we need an account for each day of creation...of course not. God in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to tell us the creation story by breaking it down into creative segments, each of which was attributed to a specific creative act or acts. We need to give the early Hebrews of Genesis a break...they didn't have calculators like we do!

One must also consider that time with God has no meaning. To Him, 10 billion years is like a day. Thus, it is no problem for God to put billions of years into one of His days.

Dr. Hugh Ross puts it best in his determination that the frame of reference for creation is the surface of the earth. Genesis 1:2 puts the witness of creation on the surface. But who is witnessing these events? It is God himself. During the first 5.99 days of creation, God is the only one present. Thus, human time does not matter...no humans were there to witness the passage of time. What matters is how God sees time! Thus, a billion year day is only a passing moment in God's eyes.

The creation account is written in such a manner for all people to understand it. The issue is not how long creation took...the issue is that God did it, and that's all that matters in the end.


With such a wide usage of the word Yom for many different time periods, it cannot be claimed that Yom in the Old Testament only represents a 24-hour period. During the creation account alone, Yom represents four different time periods. Rules of Hebrew, created by young earth Hebrew scholars, are invalid. Because of their biased position, they are trying to prove their own agenda.

Since humans did not witness creation, our own concept of a 24-hour day does not apply. The only thing that matters is God's concept of time. Thus, the only evidence we have to accurately assess the age of creation is the creation itself. Since the rocks and stars say we are billions of years old, that must be the truth. This fits perfectly with a literal interpretation of Genesis, and an inerrant Bible, and does not impact any other Biblical doctrine.

Young earth creationists have written many thousands of pages of material, arguing that you can only interpret the Hebrew word Yom as a 24-hour day.

What is the concept of "time" in the creation account ? How long are the "days" of Genesis 1?

The Bible says a day to the Lord is as a thousand years to man II Peter 3:8 Adam was created on the sixth day, and these “days” were as God sees days, because only God was here and not man. Man was only here at the very end of the sixth day.

Therefore, it doesn’t matter how we interpret the word day in human languages…the question is, What is a day to God?

Think about this....if you are in the middle of space, and you are the all-powerful, all-knowing, eternal God of the universe, who never sleeps, then what is a “day” to you? If you are eternal, what meaning does time have for you? Wow, there goes another million years! It won’t matter because you have billions more!

If you are convinced that the earth is 4.5 billion years old, and you are convinced the world was created, and did not happen by chance, then you must come to the conclusion that a day for God is a long period of time. God gives us the term day so that limited, finite man can better understand the creation story.

Is this against the Hebrew use of the word translated Day Yom in Genesis as the young earth proponents claim? Not at all. Yes, you can argue for a literal 24-hour day, but it is just as easy to find Hebrew scholars who believe in an old earth, and say that "day" is a long period of time. So, as a believer, it is up to you to decide who is right.

Consider the use of the word Yom by Moses. In the Genesis creation account and in Psalm 90 (written by Moses), it is used four different ways.

12-Hour Period. In Genesis 1:5, it says "God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day."

This use of Yom is for a 12-hour period.

24-Hour Period. In Genesis 1:14, it says "And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years” This use of Yom is for Yom a 24-hour day.

The Entire Creative Week. In Genesis 2:4, it says "This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. In the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens." Here, Yom refers to the entire six-day creative week.

A Long Period of Time Psalm 90:4 says, "For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night." In this instance, David says Yom is like a thousand years.

Moses and David uses the word Yom to represent a different period of time. Thus, young earth creationist claims that Yom is only a 24-hour day are completely unfounded by Scripture.

one must understand that the Hebrew language is not nearly as diverse as our English language. Whereas our vocabulary is around half a million, the Hebrew language has only 8,700 words. The French language, one of the poorest modern languages in vocabulary and the language of choice for diplomats, has just about 40,000 words or over 4 times the amount of words that Ancient Hebrew has.

Many of the Hebrew words could be considered duplicates with only slight differences. Thus, words which contain multiple meanings are common. Such is the case with the word Yom.

As you can see, Hebrew dictionaries attest to the fact that the word Yom is used for anywhere from 12 hours up to a year, and even a vague "time period" of unspecified length.
