Ah-Ha.....Yes, We Can Give Testimonials!!! Aug 27, 2008 6:22 pm
Mood: cheerful, 991 Views
I was unsure whether we (us standard members) could or not write testimonials.......well, I learned we can!!!

A while back I actually left one for a wonderful friend, Glefina, but never actually knew if it worked.

Sometimes as a standard member even though it let's you go through a process, after clicking the last button of that process it oftentimes sends us to an Order Upgrade page indicating what was just tried was not allowed!! Frustrating, but then again....hey, that the perks of being a paid member!!! So I can't complain!!

I just left a testimonial for Clay to double make sure it actually works. Glefina is a paid member and Clay is a standard......so it worked in both instances......they both are, of course, in my network of friends.....wonder if that has anything to do with it working!!!

Anyhow........it works!!!

So who wants a testimonial from me?

Yep, It's Just Rumors!!! Aug 23, 2008 8:43 pm

No....contrary to what some are thinking, I haven't left BC. And no, I've not been snatched up by some dishy looking fella and eloped or anything like that!!! I'm just very busy with a seven week training program at my work. It's exhausting and time consuming....so any times that I do check into BC I just don't have the time to blog or respond to much of anything. Soooooooo, that's it!!!

I'm sorry that so many of you miss me!! I miss you too, and appreciate you telling me so, but I'm just too busy, that's all!!!

Oh, and thanks so much for the beautiful testimonials that some of you left for me recently, actually all of them are awesome!!! I'm not positive if I can give testimonials....I certainly hope it's possible for a standard member.....I will check into it in a few weeks when my work thingy eases up. There's so many people I've met over my almost one year here and I'd like to leave a testimonial for them!!!

I hope everyone is doing well, still keeping so many of you in my prayers....God bless!!

Be blogging soon!!

Looking For Someone To Take Care Of Me Aug 17, 2008 5:37 pm
Mood: cheerful, 1324 Views
I remember when I first joined BC and I read a few profiles I actually came across a few men who indicated that they hoped to find someone who would take care of them.

It caught my attention because I wondered what they actually meant by that. I know for me, as a woman, it means things like.....if my car broke down and I called my guy...he'd say, okay, baby, don't worry, I'll call a tow truck, or say, I'm on my way! That he'd get rid of or keep away from me bugs, spiders, snakes, mice, bats, or other creepy crawly things. That he'd let me cling on to him during thunder and lightening storms as they highly terrify me. That he'd make me feel safe wherever we went. That he'd be someone I could be proud of as that would make me feel secure in our relationship. That he'd take care of me when I got the sniffles....really take care of me and wouldn't make me feel like I was a great burden to him.

And finally, which is the biggest of all, that he would love me as God intended love between two of His people!! It means other things too to me, but these are just some of the ones that come to mind at the moment!!

So what does it mean to you??

You Know What The Worst Weapon In The World Is???? Aug 16, 2008 10:08 am

Parents and their guilt trips......UGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

It's true!!! As soon as a parent wants the upper hand, they say something like, "well, we'll just see how you ________ when I'm/we're dead and gone!!!" Of course, they've got tons of ammunition stored away just to use when they want to maintain or regain control over their children.

But seriously, sometimes growing up it's hard to distinguish between honoring your parents as the Commandments tell us and doing what we need to do to follow our own paths for our own individual Christian selves!!!

Growing up, I too was manipulated by my parents strictness and use of guilt trips. However, as I matured in faith and gained Christian independence, I can now reason with my parents using the skills of truth and honesty, but also an evoked wisdom from our Lord!!

Unfortunately, there is a day we do learn our parents aren't always right. They don't always know what's best for us. Perhaps God grants them the ability in the beginning of our lives to rear us and make us strong toward our path but once we take flight.....even if we go back for advice/direction.....oftentimes parents are dumbfounded.

I don't know if your parents are or were the same but mine still try to hover over their children's lives.....not in a grand way or bad way but still at times, I guess it's just habit, but it feels as if they just don't know that their kids aren't two, three, five, seven, or a young teenager any longer.

I used to think whatever parents said you must do as they tell you, if they don't like it you don't do it, or you don't go, etc. But truthfully, coming to the realization that their guilt trips (once you're a mature Christian adult) it's harmful!! Not cutting the apron strings doesn't allow one to becoming the adult Christian God wants us to be!!

Do you agree???

Would You Ever Do It Again??? Aug 14, 2008 7:35 am
Mood: cheerful, 1468 Views
If you meet the one of your dreams whether here at BC or not....would you ever have a large wedding...again (or if your prior was a small one)?

This question is prompted from Terrie's (Racefan4) post How Do I Know If I've Found The Perfect Spouse? and I got to thinking....hmmmmm.....would I, would he want to....do people actually have a huge wedding the second time around???

As for me, I'm thinking it could kind of depend on a bunch or factors, whether there's funds available, whether both sides of the family kind of expect it (the traditional wedding), and perhaps how the couple feels themselves!! Hmmmmmm.....I guess I'm puzzled....half of me thinks it's not necessary....but then the other half says....hey, girl, you were cheated out of the real love of my life the first time go for the dream wedding!!! And then.....there's a realistic side to me, too.....and that says.....forget the big wedding......spend the money on the honeymoon !!!

What do you think.....would you do it again???

Hey, Guys, Wanna Know Who's Your Grab Bag Girl??? Aug 10, 2008 3:38 pm
Mood: cheerful, 1393 Views
If so, here's how it works!!! It's so simple!!! Almost like when you reach into a bag and pull out a surprise gift....well, it's sort of the same concept!!!

All anyone needs do is indicate they're curious to know who is their "Grab Bag Girl"!!! As soon as everyone seems to have posted who wants to play this fun sort of match up kind of a game the matching begins.

The first guy's grab bag girl is the first girl that posts, then the second guy and the second girl, and so on and so on!!! This blog is being put on private so no one will know until the end!!!

I think this is kind of fun so I'm gonna play in this game just to see....I'll be posting at some point....not first and not last...but somewhere in the middle!!!

Hope this is fun for everyone.....if nothing else, it should be quite interesting!!!

What Are Your Like In The Car??? Aug 9, 2008 11:58 am
Mood: cheerful, 1306 Views
Here are a few questions about the way we act when we're driving or when we're passengers!!

If you have a long trip to take say over an hour or so, do you prefer to be alone or is it always more fun to be with someone?

Do you like it when your passenger talks during the whole drive or would you rather they just take a snooze?

Does it bother you when you're driving on a long trip if your passenger falls asleep?

Do you need the radio on no matter whether you've got company or not?

What type of passenger are you?

Do you fall asleep as soon as the engine starts, cuz, it's like a lullaby?

Do you pay attention to where you're going and try to help navigate when it's some place new?

Are you a backseat driver....who constantly indicates, you're going too fast....speed up....why would you park there, etc.?

*****************************************

For me, if I'm the driver, I'm like the little hostess....make sure everybody is comfy and cozy, if the seat moves I let them know how to maneuver it. I'll ask if the temperature is acceptable....too hot, too cold. Do they want the window down or up. If they'd rather listen to music or not. And then if they're quiet I'll try to ask questions or bring up a topic we can chat about! Later, I'll ask if anybody wants something to eat or drink then find a place. I don't like eating/drinking in the car though....YIKES....just a little pet peeve of mine!! I like it to be kept clean!!

As a passenger, I'm a good little navigator when it's a new route and I'm very observant. If I see something potentially hazardous, I'll say, hey, do you see that up ahead....or three cars behind this guy is driving like a maniac? Wow, that's a bit crazy!! But I never say it shockingly, just matter-of-fact like so as not to excite the driver!! If the driver wants to listen to music and have some quiet time, I'm for that too.....but it doesn't last tooooo long, cuz, something usually pops into my head that I just have to tell them!! If the trip is very, very long, more than two hours, I start rummaging through my purse to find something to do....like file my nails, touch up makeup, hey, I'd paint my nails, too, but nail polish is very stinky, so I refrain. (Actually, in the summer I paint my nails outdoors whenever possible, cuz, that smell is so strong!!) And if I have a computer....well, I can get lost in that for hours!!!

So how about you? What are you like in the car?

What Gifts Are Romantic To You??? Aug 7, 2008 8:13 pm
Mood: cheerful, 1709 Views
I'm not materialistic....so it's kind of hard for me to make much of a list, perhaps you all will do better than I. And I hope you do list such things.

But for me, if I'm attracted to a guy and really, really like him or am married to him......certain things that would have to appear on my list would be.....I really do cherish time with my guy, sharing ideas, chatting about anything or nothing at all, just sitting next to each other, holding hands, being held in his arms, working out life's troubles together, enjoying God's blessings....sharing a meal, praying for our family and needs......things of that nature....but really, whether it be actual material gifts, I'm more impressed with his words, songs we listen to, places we traverse, movies we view, hearing his laughter, knowing his voice, and trusting in him....these and more all can become very romantically special to me!!!

So what's your idea of romantic gifts you'd like to receive???

Being a woman.....I kind of have a good idea what most women's responses may be....but I'm very curious as to what guys think is a romantic gift!!

Part Two --- A Real Blind Date Aug 5, 2008 10:31 am
Mood: cheerful, 1474 Views
So you know the first part....and if you don't, click here.....A Real Blind Date!!

Now on to the rest of the story!!!

I did decide to go ahead with this blind date. Off to the movies we headed. On the car ride there, this man did not talk to me, instead, he turned the radio on, sort of to an uncomfortable level whereas one could not reasonably speak over the music....at least not for me, because, I've been told, I do have a very soft and low voice!!! He mouthed the words to the songs...actually it was the same song over and over and over.....something by Pink Floyd....and played air guitar.

Okay....I really didn't know what to think as I'm not used to people in real life doing these actions..... I mean, I've seen it on TV but not in real life. Soooooooooo.....I looked out my side window!!!

It was sad, no matter whether he may have been nervous or was he trying to impress me....I just don't know......but really, I don't like to be ignored and that's basically how I felt he was acting....into his own world of music and not even giving me one glance. It kind of made me think to myself.....gee, am I that horrible to look at???? I mean, usually guys will steal a glance, but not him.

We arrive at our destination, a parking garage to the mall/movie theater!! Okay.....so the parking garage is a little scary, as most are in big cities. He didn't offer to lead the way, make sure no thugs were hanging out around, he kept humming his tune to the music that he played in the car.

So I went into defense mode and he followed me like a disinterested puppy dog, just following along, cuz, there was nothing else to do!!!

We get close to the ticket booth to purchase the movie tickets....he says to me, "you know, if you wash off your lipstick and put your hair in braids, we might get away with one adult and a child! Nah, you're dressed to fancy for a kid!!"

Huh?????? My eyes widened, I smirked and said nothing....I couldn't believe what was just stated!!! But I let it go, because I know people everywhere are always trying to save money one way or another....but I wasn't about to become a child to assist him. If anything I'd pay my own way rather than try to cheat the system!!!

Before entering the actual screen theater part, he offered to buy me a snack and soda. Frankly, I really wasn't in the mood and I generally don't eat certain snacks....you all know...it's cuz of my allergies!!! So I said, no thank you.

We sat around the middle of the theater...since it was a daytime matinee, there really weren't going to be too many fellow spectators. In fact, there were only two other people who arrived.

Without notice, this guy stands up and leaves the theater. He didn't excuse himself, or explain where he might be going. I shrugged it off, thinking he might need to use the men's room!! I don't like that though.....when you go out together, I think it's only natural that one tells the other exactly where they're going. I mean, it's a new place to me as well as he and what if something happens.

He returned and said nothing. Not even, oh, what did I miss? In total, he left the theater three times during the 1 1/2 hour duration!!! Again, no explanation. Perhaps I should have asked, but for me, I already felt mistreated and wasn't about to concern myself!!!

The movie was over and I indicated before we left I'd like to use the ladies room. Hmmmmmm....I'm a very bad girl.....because I didn't actually need to use the ladies room.....I wanted to call my sister to, I guess, in a sense, have her rescue me!!! I tried to call, but I couldn't reach her. So I was stuck to continue on with this date.

As we walked through the hallways leading to the mall, this is where he was smoking and the security officers approached us. When they asked if I was being bother by this man, I did say, oh, no. But that was all I said. I guess they weren't convinced, and pulled him off to another section and me in the other direction. I told the security officer that we were actually on a blind date. That I didn't know this guy at all. The officer explained my date's behavior looked suspicious rather than a date. I admitted I was displeased with the date so far but didn't want to hurt his feelings. The officer said, oh, come on, just ditch him and I'll take you home!!! For a brief moment that sounded very interesting!!! But still I thought it would hurt this guys feelings.

When we met back we headed to an eatery called Perkins, instead of the semi-fancy restaurant. Thank God it is just right next to the mall!! I ordered scrambled eggs and that was it. He ordered a decent sized meal and enjoyed himself. He never did take that hat off, not even at the table. Perhaps the hat thing is all my parents' doing, they instilled in us that a guy must take his hat off in the presence of a lady and, especially at the dinner table.

After the meal, he wanted to go somewhere else and asked if I had any suggestions. I told him it was getting very late and that I had to go home as I needed to leave for a job for my work at 4:00 a.m. the next morning. Which was true. I did. That was the whole reason behind starting the date early!!!

He was a bit agitated, i guess, at the fact that this date was going to be over.....and so once again we drive off with that same music playing in the car and his head rattling around like a hard rocker and strums of air guitar. A few miles down the road, he turns the music off. He asks me how I think the date went and whether I see the two of us getting married.

YIKES......were we not on the same date????

I honestly didn't know what to say....though I asked God to quickly let me know how to respond.

So the truth is what popped into my head and so I said.....well, marriage??? No. That's something that wouldn't be for quite a while.

So he said, but did you enjoy yourself today?

I said, yes, it was nice.

He says, nice!!!! That's it just nice????

I replied, well, we didn't exactly have a chance to talk much at all.

Then, things got ugly....he said much to me, cursing and swearing....I guess because his chances of a second date were no to never!! Basically, I formed the opinion that this guy was delusional and I definitely felt unsafe!! Thank God, God was with me.

Very shortly we arrive near my home......he didn't even pull into the driveway, but merely off to the side of the road for me to get out!!

I thanked him for the date, and apologized that things just didn't turn out to be anything more than friends!!!

He said, okay and that maybe he'd call me sometime.

Well, sometime, hmmmmmm.....he called the next morning!!!

SOOOOOOOOOO..........what do you think, should there have been a good night kiss????

a. Yes.....explain why!!!
b. No......no explanation necessary!!!
