Things To Love About Men Mar 5, 2008 11:15 am
Mood: dreamy, 648 Views
Just a few things that make us women love men!!

1. The way they hold our face when they kiss our lips and squeeze us tightly.

2. The look of awe on their face when they see us all dressed up for a date.

3. How even when we are wearing sweatpants and a baggy shirt they still think we are beautiful.

4. How our shirt smells like their cologne after a date.

5. How they rub our fingers when holding our hand.

6. When we fall asleep to them running their fingers through our hair.

7. How they try to make things perfect for us.

8. How they offer us their jacket on a cold night even though they only have on a T-shirt underneath.

9. How our head fits perfectly into the crevices of their chest.

10. Their smile and the way it makes us melt.

11. The way they hold us close when we're cold.

12. How they actually take the time to write us love letters.

But most of all it's the gentle way they kiss!

For me, my handwriting indicates that I am a laid back person with rather low energy. But not lazy... am sensitive and empathetic. I'm somewhat outgoing, but not a natural extrovert. Think first before I act. Tend to be independent, rational, and logical. I am detail oriented and meticulous. I am a careful thinker and a true intellectual. I need a bit of space in my life, but am not a recluse. I expect people to give me a small amount of privacy, and I respect their privacy as well. I am somewhat traditional, but also open to change. I listen to my head and heart. I am sometimes a poor communicator, not able to let people really know exactly what I'm getting at.

I'm Free....I'm Free...No Jury Duty For Me Mar 3, 2008 3:49 pm
Mood: beautiful, 627 Views
Well, I only got two hours of sleep last night....just the way things turned out for me but I still had to arrive at the Courthouse for jury duty service.

Actually, I truly didn't mind....I already told myself to like it and just do it. So I went with a happy heart and a smile on my face....unbelievably I was not tired.

I used to work in the very town where the Courthouse is stationed as a paralegal....daily I visited the clerks offices filing documents, researching, and so on. To my surprise its entirety in and out have changed, gone under renovation. Looks noting like it had. That's no big deal, but the added security checks as one enters the Courthouse was shocking to see. We had to remove our coats and empty our pockets, place purses, wallets and the like on a conveyor belt for x-ray! Shocking....nothing like when the world was free and trusting so many tiny years ago.

People complained, but what's the use.....no way to enter without following process and procedures. (Kind of like getting into Heaven, right?) Besides, if you've got nothing to hide, it ought not to be a bother.

It was only a few hours, three to be exact, until I was released and set free to go and do as I wished until I'm called to this duty again.

So what better time than to pray I thought. And so I prayed for our world, the vocation of priests and religious leaders, sinners to return to faith, home and foreign missions, the elderly, the sickly and afflicted, the dying, our nation, those in military service, and in general the needs of my family here at BC.

In the time remaining, I was fortunate to strike up conversation with those seated around me...it was truly delightful. As we chatted away, each began asking the others what they did for a living and I noticed one thing....only one gentleman was never asked what he did.....so I took it upon myself to ask him!!! The response was a great deal of laughter (as intended)...He was a priest!!! But the priest said something to us that made each of us think....he indicated his pleasure in being among us, we so many who are church goers and believers in Christ!! He indicated that he has the misfortune to know when he's among a group of ten, perhaps two are followers of Jesus.....if he's lucky!!

At the end of our stay, when it was announced we were excused, the gentleman sitting next to me reactionarily blurted out, Thank God! The priest responded, Amen. Others added things such as Praise the Lord and it was a strong and happy energy roaming around that room. The court staff indicated that never before has the law and Religion come together....and to that he added....there's only one thing for me to say and that is, go with God!!

Pretty cool, huh!!

So then......I went shopping!!! Hooray!! It's been a while since I've been shopping just for myself!!

Tomorrow....it's back to normal!!

Ever Serve Jury Duty? Mar 2, 2008 11:31 am
Mood: blah, 879 Views
Tomorrow I'll be away serving jury duty. I tried to get out of it....but they wouldn't excuse me. Looks like no matter who one is, nor the type of job one holds, it's not really a valid excuse to be excused. Even Oprah Winfrey had to serve. Therefore, I must attend.....who knows how long the case may be....or even if I'll be picked at all as a juror.

Most people detest it. My background among other things is in the law, I've been a paralegal and even a court reporter (stenographer as they're sometimes called). So I sort of know the ins and outs of what's going to take place. I know I can sit there and speculate about what each attorney is presenting and why...what are they trying to hide, as well as knowing procedurally what is going on in the case. Interesting.....yes, cases can be....but at the same time can be quite boring as well.

So how do you feel about serving jury duty?

Hopeless.....And Where Is God? Mar 1, 2008 6:41 pm
Mood: amazed, 767 Views

A friend of mine, suffered an aneurysm to burst in his head many years ago, approximately 7 or 8, when is was around the age of 50....he's now 57 or 58.

He was resuscitated, brought back to life, but the doctors said it was hopeless. No survival expectancy past a few days, if not just hours.

Devastating to his family members and he himself....if one could ever talk to him, I'm sure he'd agree.

As the days passed Tom hung in there. He was not getting better, he remained the same. Pretty much brain dead and in a coma. But his wife wouldn't give up hope.

Almost a month later, Tom came out of the coma. To all they were overjoyed. To them it mean Daddy, and a husband would be going home.....possibly, maybe.

No, the damage Tom suffered left him a complete quadriplegic, with no speech and no movement at all, not even the ability to move or blink his eyes. It's hopeless, Tom's wife and kids were told.

I had met Tom and his family two years prior to this event taking place, he was full of so much life, laughter, and the love for his kids was totally awesome. He was a hard worker, always lending a hand to fix somebody's house up and making a party of it by bringing his kids and friends along to get the job done faster....plus it made it more enjoyable.

What he was really doing was teaching his kids valuable lessons to help those less fortunate, he was keeping his eye on his kids and enjoying them as each grew. He was a fisherman and hunter, and loved racing cars in his spare time. He was a devoted father and husband and quite dashing in his looks as it was obvious to note.

So simple, so easy, so fast, his life was reduced to lying in a bed with immobility. Needing constant care. Not having the ability to scratch his nose when it itched, push the hair out of his eyes, turn his head, breath on his own, nor open or close his eyes. It was hopeless, but his wife would not give up on him.

Tom was moved to another facility, sort of a rehabilitative center where they wished to work on him, perhaps bring back a few of his internal abilities so he might be removed from support.

Finally, after some time there was much improvement, not a lot but enough that he only needed two means of support, breathing and eating.

Then his wife noticed the patches over his eyes began to twitch, upon immediately notifying the nurse, the bandaging was removed and his eyes had movement. He still could not move his head but little by little much of Tom's abilities were returning.....so they thought.

Turns out it got to a point and then his body started to regress, the therapy was not working so they stopped it completely....the money ran out as well. What was the wife to do, she wasn't willing to give up, not even now.

They were about to lose their house when it was decided she'd sell and move here to near where I live in her cousin's rental home.

A few years and only a tiny amount of recovery was gained even after hiring one of the best rehabilitative nurses in the area. But whatever the progress was it was a welcome and a blessing to this family, not to mention to Tom.

He gained his ability to talk, move his head but his body still stayed immobile and his appendages from non-use curled.

For all these years myself, his family, and all who heard of him prayed. We were praying for his full abilities to be restored.....because we know as it's up to God....if it's His will, it will be done.

While on vacation, I did not visit Tom because of the flu virus going around, but I heard of his new and latest condition......and to my absolute amazement, he is coming along quite well. He has just started to move his hands and arms again and can wiggle a toe ever so slightly. And all this restorative abilities happened, not only through the water therapy they discovered to experiment with, but from whom we all looked to from the very first moment of trouble.....our loving God!!

I'm so exited for him and I continue to pray....I really wanna see Tom walk again! And I do believe he will!!

Soooooo, where is God??? He is right there in the most hopeless of situations.....just believe!

Does He Sit And Wonder? Feb 29, 2008 11:51 pm
Mood: blah, 546 Views
Does he sit and think where I might be
Wonder who I am or make a loving wish
Does he dream and reach for me
Longing to experience our first kiss

Will he look upon me gingerly
Will he handle me with care
It's something I need to know
For I've lost at love and none to spare

Does he care enough
Not to demand a lot
But instead assess his needs
And thank the Lord for what he's got

Shall his soul open up with a pride so gallant
In search of my gentle, loving touch
Shall he react with passion and want
Supplying my cares and needs oh so much

So does he sit and wonder
Where I might be
Thinking the same about life's splendor
But seriously just wanting me???

Look Out Love.....Here We Come!! Feb 29, 2008 2:50 am
Mood: lovable, 753 Views

Leap Year has been a traditional time that women can propose marriage. In today's culture, it's so common for woman to propose marriage to a man. Society doesn't look down on such women. However, that hasn't always been the case. When the rules of courtship were stricter, women were only allowed to pop the question on one day every four years. That day was February 29th.

So, it was Saint Bridget who began the tradition in 5th Century Ireland when she complained to Saint Patrick about women having to wait so long for a man to propose. According to legend, Saint Patrick proclaimed yearning females could propose only this one day in February during leap year.

So, ladies, now is your chance!! Get the guy you're looking for! Hurry up, because there's only 24-hours in a day!!!

Now the only question is......where to find the right guy??? Hmmmmmmm......will he be hiding today??

Which Are Your Strongest Intelligences? Feb 28, 2008 10:56 am
Mood: cheerful, 691 Views
Most people still believe that their capacity to learn is determined by intelligence. You have at least seven intelligences.

Each of the intelligence types is a particular kind of learning talent that seems to come easily. One person may excel competing in sports, playing a musical instrument, or solving math problems; another might find it easy to empathize with others' needs, build a birdhouse, or learn a language.

Here's a simple exercise that will pinpoint some of your strengths.

Only select the numbers of those descriptions that you feel apply to you. (Either yes or no)

1. You easily remember beautiful phrases or memorable quotes and use them deftly in conversation.

2. You sense quickly when someone you are with is troubled about something.

3. You are fascinated by scientific and philosophical questions like, "When did time begin?"

4. You can find your way around a new area or neighborhood very quickly.

5. You are regarded as quite graceful and rarely feel awkward in your movements.

6. You can sing on key.

7. You regularly read the science pages of your newspaper and look at magazines on science or technology.

8. You often correct people's errors in using words or grammar, even if you don't correct them.

9. You figure out how something works or how to fix something that's broken without much instruction, if any at all.

10. You can readily imagine how other people play the roles they do in their work or families and imaginatively see yourself in their roles.

11. You can remember in detail the layout and landmarks of places you've visited on vacations.

12. You enjoy music and have favorite performers.

13. You like to draw.

14. You dance well.

15. You organize things in your kitchen, bathroom, and at your desk according to categories and in patterns.

16. You feel confident in interpreting what other people do in terms of what they are feeling.

17. You like to tell stories and are considered a good storyteller.

18. You enjoy hearing different sounds in your environment.

19. When you meet new people, you often make connections between their characteristics and those of other acquaintances.

20. You feel you have a keen sense of what you can and can't do.

Depending on which of these descriptions fit you will indicate your intelligent strength categories.
