Update on my son - He's doing great!! Oct 22, 2007 3:57 pm
399 Views
Well, my son is definately on the up now after the surgery. He is walking further and staying up later and playing his guitar!!

He is also voluntarily getting into the bath lol! This is because it soothes his back. His scar on his back is from his neck to the bottom of his spine and is healing very well. He has another scar around his side that is 10 inches long, he says he will tell people he was bitten by a shark! lol.

I do wish he would eat more though, he is very thin and I do try to tempt him with anything he likes to eat, hopefully, he will be back to normal eating soon.

It was a pleasure to hear him playing his guitar alongside his friend; they had amps and guitars everywhere in my sitting room but I didn't care, it's just so good to see him doing normal things and even taking a walk to the shop for a bottle of coca cola lol.

Wow...I'm just so grateful that he is ok now, the relief is overwhelming sometimes.

They both fight lol...well there's a 5 year age gap and they wouldn't be normal kids if they didn't. But my youngest son is gradually realising that J cannot do as much as him at the moment and he is being kind and helpful, for the most part.

Well, that's it really, for now, just grateful for every day with my children, it puts life into perspective.

Thank you again to all who prayed for us, it helped me greatly to cope knowing that people cared. God is so good!!!

Thoughts on my life Oct 18, 2007 12:35 pm
Mood: thoughtful, 338 Views
I have been thinking about this a lot recently. I look back and see me, over the past few years, up until about 6 months ago, struggling with everything, particularly my relationship with God. I was on the wrong path for sure, thought I knew what was best for me and through that oh how I fell! I fell good and proper lol, I was hanging onto God by a thread.

What changed me? God changed me, He humbled me and brought me to my knees until there was nothing left of me, just Him in me.

That lesson was the most valuable one of my life, it taught me humility and how God can work in us from that place far better than when we are proud. When we have been humbled, we can give of ourselves to others much more effectively, we can empathise with others, have compassion and give love.

I have also met someone, who is very special to me, He has taught me so much, been patient with me, gracious when I wasn't always. In him, I see how I desire to be , a reflection of God in all that I do.

I still make a mess of things at times lol, I still falter but I pray about it, I ask for forgiveness and now truly believe that I am forgiven. The harsh words of others do not affect me like they did, I remain gracious and compassionate and if I do fail to do that, quickly realise and ask for forgiveness from the person and from God.

This way of living has to be the absolute best, to be close to God, to know that He loves me so very much, that His son died on a cross for me...little insignificant me, how truly amazing is that?

So, if you feel that you are heading in the wrong direction, or you're struggling with your faith, just remember we are imperfect beings, we are on a journey of discovery, we learn about ourselves every day. Don't be hard on yourself, turn to your Father, rest in Him, tell Him everything, He knows it already, He won't be shocked, there is nothing you have done that He hasn't seen before. You are worthy and God loves you.

I'm sad when people leave BC, it's lovely to get to know a person through their blog. I know I have left a few times, for all sorts of reasons, sometimes just for a little break, or when I have been ill.

I just wanted to wish all the people who have recently left God's blessings and hope that they find what they are looking for. Their blogs have helped me, encouraged me, particularly Eli and Pen and I so love their sense of humour.

goes into the corner for a little sulk now.............lol

Oh dear, not been this tired for a long time, starting to sleep during the day and also sleeping for about 9 to 10 hours at night.

I'm sorry to bother you all but I would really appreciate some prayer to give me some energy; feeling a little bit down.

I think I have been running on adrenaline for quite a while and maybe it's just catching up on me.

Thank you so much and God bless

How can a life change? Oct 4, 2007 3:31 pm

How can a life change
from being hopeless and loveless?
How can a moment change
from being sad and desolate?
How can we chase our dreams
when we are pressed down with cares?

We can transform our lives by saying
I love you Lord!
Carry me until I can walk again
Feed me, until I have grown again
Love me, until I can love myself

Then, can a life change

Operation Over and all is well, Sep 26, 2007 11:38 am
Mood: grateful, 435 Views
J is out of his operation and doing well in intensive care. He's had a blood transfusion and is looking rather pale but the surgeon said the operation went very well, with no problems at all.

I shed more than a few tears, probably of relief. I've held it together, by God's grace for quite a while, but today I'm very tired and very emotional, though also very thankful to the surgical team, to all the nursing staff, for giving him such great care.

I can already see a change in his physical appearance, his shoulders are even and also his hips are now aligned and his back is straighter. He has grown about 3 cms during the two ops...he will be so proud of that!

Thank you once again for all your support and prayers, you have all helped us so much, God is so good and I feel priviledged to know you all. I don't have any family around me, so your support and encouragement has meant a great deal.

Please count on my support and prayers, in the future, should you need it.

God bless

Last operation Sep 25, 2007 3:03 am
Mood: hopeful, 297 Views
I'm off to the hospital in a little while, this is the last operation for J, my son and I am so glad that things are going well for him. He is eating well, walking and being a typical teenager! lol

The operation is tomorrow morning, which is Wednesday, about 9 am and will be an all day one again. I would really appreciate your prayers again, if J comes through this op as successfully as the last one, then I count us as a very fortunate family indeed!

I thank God for carrying us through this and for giving us such hope. God is so Good, I cannot praise Him enough.

I'll speak soon and let you know how J is progressing. Many Thanks for all your powerful prayers and thoughts.

God bless

Shoes Sep 22, 2007 1:20 pm
Mood: cheerful, 365 Views
You know, I don't want to be serious today, I want to be frivolous, so I am gonna talk about shoes....yes shoes...lol

I have a penchent for shoes, many styles and heights and spiky heels and funky wedges and flip flop types and trainers and well, the list just goes on and on.

The best buy I ever had in the shoe department was a pair of Chloes.....they were 350 pounds, marked down to 30 pounds. I nearly hyperventilated when I saw how much they had gone down to..lol I held them, and touched them and thought gosh, could I really own a pair of shoes like these and well, I did. I bought them for myself for my birthday. I have never owned a pair of shoes like them and don't suppose I ever will again. They are funky, high wooden platformed retro style sandals with a 4 inch heel. I'm 5'10 in them and I feel sooo good, though walking in them takes a bit of getting used to lol!!

You see, I love elegant things, I admire them from afar, or touch them in shops, where I can't afford to really step into lol. I like good design and the smell of leather and well, I could go on but it really would be bordering on the obsessive and that isn't good lol.

I joke in the chatrooms about my love of shoes and it's a sort of icebreaker, and sometimes it is good to be light and airy instead of serious, which I can be too. Life is for living, making the most of every day and seeing good in everything, well trying to lol.

If you have a tale of a pair of shoes you love, share it please, would love to hear it.
