Men's rights in marriage.... Apr 4, 2008 9:26 am
Mood: Romantic, 548 Views
I learned from my first marriage that the next time a woman walks down the aisle to marry me, I am going to hold in my hand a list of rights, HER RIGHTS:
- she has the right to hear "I love you" @ least 25x a day
- she has the right to be treated ALWAYS WITH RESPECT AND DIGNITY
- she has the right to rest assured and protected in my love
- she has the right to be pampered
- she has the right to be treated in such a way that everyone knows instinctively that I am totally consumed with her and only her
- she has the right to know I would lay my life down for her
- she has the right to know that I only want what's best for her
- she has the right to know I will never make fun of her
- she has the right to receive love notes in unexpected places
- she has the right to go shopping with her girl-friends (with a spending limit of course)
- she has the right to know that I trust her love for me when she is talking to other men
- she has the right to daily back rubs
- she has the right to be heard, without distraction
- she has the right to be treated as an equal, co-partners in Christ
- she has the right to express her opinions (as long as it agrees with mine ) without fear of being scoffed at.
- she has the right to take "alone time" when needed
- she has the right to pursue things that interest her.

TIME FOR A BREATH HERE.....

- she has the right to be touched ONLY IN A LOVING MANNER
- she has the right to know that there is no other woman who can catch my eye the way she does
- she has the right to say "no" so long as she takes and aspirin
- she has the right to question me on my decisions, and be heard
- she has the right to know that no matter where I am, I am always thinking about her, and am counting the minutes until we are together again.
- she has rights to add to this list, because I know that when I am giving her these rights, she will not be able to withhold the love and respect I so desperately need and want. Submission will never need to be talked about when I love my wife like that. She will willingly want to give herself to her man, who loves her in this way. She will attempt to anticipate my needs, and I, hers.

Well, I think you are beginning to understand what my list of rights include.

GBY, Gary

You have stolen my heart, my bride
You have stolen my heart
With one glance of your eyes
with one jewel of your necklace.

How delightful is your love my bride
How much more pleasing
Is your love than wine
And the fragrance of your perfume
Than any spice.

Your lips drop sweetness
as the honeycomb my bride
Milk and honey are under your tongue
The fragrance of your garments
is like that of Lebanon.

I am writing this letter slow because I know you can't read fast.

We don't live where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most accidents happen within 20
miles from your home, so we moved.

I won't be able to send you the address because the last Arkansas family that lived here took the house numbers when
they moved so that they wouldn't have to change their
address.

This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine. I'm not sure it works so well though: last week I put a load in
and pulled the chain and haven't seen them since.

The weather isn't bad here. It only rained twice last week, the first time for three days, the second for four days.

About the coat you wanted me to send you, your uncle Stanley said it would be to heavy to send in the mail with the
buttons on, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets.

John locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were really worried because it took him two hours to get me and your
father out.

Your sister had a baby yesterday, but I haven't found what it is yet, so I don't know if you are an uncle or an aunt.

Uncle Ted fell in a whiskey vat last week. Some men tried to pull him out, but he fought them off playfully and
drowned. We had him cremated and he burned for three days.

Three of your friends went off a bridge in a pick up truck. Ralph was driving. He rolled down the window and swam
to safety. Your other two friends were in back. They drowned because they couldn't get the tailgate down.

There isn't much more news at this time. Nothing much has happened.

Love, Mom

PS I was going to send you some money but the envelop was already sealed.

What is so wrong with a bubble bath?? Apr 3, 2008 2:09 pm
Mood: thankful, 394 Views
I used to complain about a lot of things:

Turn off the light!!

Shut the front door, you're letting the heat out!!

Don't take such long showers!!

Don't use so much water when you take your bubble bath!!

Clean up your room!!!
----------------------------------------------------

NOW, I am thankful that she isn't turning the light off in some guys bedroom

I am thankful she is not leaving the door open for the devil to move in

I'm thankful she has not had to take a shower to wash off the evilness of having been attacked

I'm thankful she is in MY bathroom, not some other guy's

I'm thankful she has clothes to leave scattered around the room

I'm thankful we have heat that can escape through the front door.

I'm thankful to have a home with doors.

Now I am thankful to have a home!

I'm thankful
I'm thankful
I'm thankful
I AM TRULY THANKFUL TO A LOVING GOD!

Rom 1:21 - 28 " For although they know God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to Him, ....therefore God gave them over ....to sexual impurity...shameful lusts.... Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind

Doubting Thomas........or was he????? Apr 2, 2008 2:18 am
Mood: contemplative, 370 Views
In John 20:25 says, ".....(Thomas) declared, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands, and put my fingers where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."

Let me begin by pointing out the obvious. "Faith" is a noun, "believe" is a verb. My daughter comes to me and wants the keys to my car for the night. I reach into my pocket, pull out my keys and tell her I have faith in her driving ability, I have faith she will drive my car safely. But I still have my keys in hand.

It is not until I hand over the keys to her that I can say, "I believe". The handing over of the keys is what makes the difference between "faith" and "believe". Faith is mental assent, believe is action. "....I will show you my faith BY MY ACTIONS"

Thomas is saying he will not BELIEVE (entrust) himself until he can see the scars, SEE THE SCARS. THAT IS ALL HE WANTED. He did not say he didn't mentally accept the fact Jesus had been raised from the dead. He wanted someone, something he could hand over the keys to. He knew that if he could see the scars, he would know that Jesus made it through the darkest night mankind had ever seen. He wanted to see the scars

Think with me for a minute about his life. He had been approached and asked to give up his livelihood, his whole life, EVERYTHING, to follow this stranger called Jesus. Who was this Jesus, where did He come from, what about all the claims He was making.

But there was this tug in his heart he knew he had to follow. So he gave up life, as he knew it and for 3 1/2 years followed this Man without any noted questioning.

Now, he finds that this Man he has been following and committed his life to, has not only been visibly killed, but also is claimed to have conquered death AND RISEN FROM THE DEAD.....CAN YOU IMAGINE SUCH A THING?

He asked the same things I believe sinners around the globe, and possibly Christians too, are asking, DID JESUS MAKE IT? DID HE MAKE IT THROUGH ALL HIS TRIALS The scars are the proof we can show the world that in the middle of our trials, WE CAN MAKE IT.....and because we made it, they can too.

I don't think God is as much concerned about your successes as He is your SCARS. Don't hide your scars, let people see "you". Don't put on this holy face that mis-represents your life, giving everyone the impression that your life is perfect. It isn't perfect, never will be.

PEOPLE WILL NEVER IDENTIFY WITH YOU ON THE BASIS OF YOUR STRENGTHS, BUT YOUR WEAKNESSES. Everyone knows they regularly fail, things go wrong, but if you present yourself as someone that lives in Utopia, no one will be able to identify with you. But if they can see your scars, that will give them hope in the middle of their trials.

Well thanks for listening to another side, another look at an old truth.

Guys, listen up! There are 3 women on this site.... Apr 1, 2008 6:18 pm
Mood: hopeful, 511 Views
who desperately need some help, something, anything. their initials are Susan, Lisa and Sonia. They seem to have nothing to do all day but stir up stuff, like mud wrestling contests etc.

Now I know I'm going to be in the dog house with all 3 of them, but what the heck that's like camping right? Only closer to the fridge.

So guys, any suggestions as to how to give these 3 women something productive to do with their days. A craft, a meaningful seminar they can go to, someplace that needs volunteers. And if live closely enough, invite them out for coffee.

Ok let's hear from you
