Sometimes i need to cry Jul 13, 2008 11:09 pm
384 Views
Sometimes when I'm alone
And I can't keep it in any more
sometimes when I'm surrounded
and feel out of place
when memories weight me down
and regret and fear consume me
when I feel I've done nothing right
and everything wrong
when I know I don't deserve what I have
but still want more
when I can't forgive
when I need hope
when all I want is to give up
and sleep
forever
I cry tears of heartache
when my soul is wounded
and my faith is tested
but every tear I cry is counted
and caught in His hands
and every weeping moment
is spent
in His arms
my tears may be of pain
my tears may be of sadness
but the comfort is of God
who hates to see me cry
but knows sometimes
I need to.

Women and their lips Jul 13, 2008 4:57 pm
Mood: Controversial, 366 Views
Apparently BC thought this post contained profanity, so I have to re-word it. That is interesting especially considering who reportedly owns the parent company. So let's try this:

One of the most notable weaknesses in our society today comes in a three letter word: beginning with the letter S

35 years ago while I was still looking for a wife, it was very difficult to find someone to date who was a still pure. I was, and wanted my future wife to be as well.

I should tell you that I never dated a non-Christian, and most of the girls I dated were involved in ministry of some form. Even with the tremendous struggle with lust, somehow, the Lord managed to get me to my wedding night, pure from sin.

I know, that as an adult, now, most available women have been married before and are therefore not "in that state". What concerns me, is the willingness of women to give themselves to a man.

Once you have held hands, you can never go back. Once you have hugged, you can never go back to being un-hugged, once you kiss, you can never go back to being un-kissed.

I Have never been as impressed in this area as I am with Lahlimama. I asked her for permission to quote part of her profile and she gave me the OK. So PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

Tell us what you expect to happen on a first date.
"Well, sorry guys, but I am saving my kisses for my future husband. Once I know that you are he, then (YES!) I will kiss you.
I just don't want my future husband to ever have to think about someone else's lips on mine.
I would love to just talk and look into your eyes. I am also a sucker for a great hand-in-hand walk."

Does that not appeal to every man on BC???Today, kisses are passed out even on first dates when both persons know there is no future in the relationship. I went to meet one person from BC and the very first thing she did when I opened the door is grab me and plant one on me. THEN she said "Hi."

As I pondered that, I wondered if my future wife was allowing another man's lips to touch hers at that moment. I continue to pray for her purity, wherever she is, in the times of testing.

A recent study on extra marital affairs uncovered something that shocked the researchers: It is easier for a woman to forgive a man for straying than it is for a man to forgive his wife for straying.

The conclusion they came to was that when a man strays, it has nothing to do with his heart, generally, it is just Physical, and companionship for him. But when a woman strays, the husband knows that she has given her heart to the other man. She has given her heart away. She has given her heart away....did you catch that?? Yes, she had physical relations with the man but she went further and gave a part of herself away. And that strikes to the core of the husband.

So "L" I applaud you for taking that stand.

Now that I have opened a can of worms, I will sit back and watch the responses come in.

I apologize to those of you that might consider this a little blunt, but at some point I believe that we as CHRISTIAN SINGLES must begin discussions on this topic. Hiding it in the closet is not the answer.

Do you like to have your man read to you? If he were to sit with you and begin reading a book (other than a study book), is that something that appeals to you?

Manipulative?? Jul 13, 2008 12:19 pm
Mood: questioning, 303 Views
"You are manipulative!" The words stung in my heart

NOT ME, NO WAY!
But she says I am?
No!
But again, my friend says, "Yes you are manipulating."
Well, do you think???

Why??

Do I think God needs help?? Is that It? God maybe isn't capable enough to do all His will, so I have to help Him out a bit. Is that the problem?

Does it have to do with ego, insecurity, lack of faith? What??

Faithful are the wounds of a friend.(Prov 27:6)

Yes my friend hurt me with those words, but she was being a faithful friend. So I thank her.

I will now go to God with this and ask for His help.

The devil vs lust Jul 12, 2008 11:07 pm
Mood: contemplative, 404 Views
How do we handle them?? Do we deal with both of them the same way?? What does Scripture say?

James 4: 7, "....resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God...."

I Corinthians 6:18, "Flee from sexual immorality...."

Pretty simple, really. But simple does not imply easy.
-RESIST the devil but
-FLEE sexual immorality.

How often do we mix those two up and FLEE the devil, and RESIST immorality.

We can stand by faith against the devil because we have all authority give by Christ, and the devil MUST flee. When he attacks us on our territory, we have the home court advantage.

But we MUST flee youthful lust because that is the devil's territory and he knows we are weak in that area and don't have much backup (especially if everyone else is heeding that command to flee). We are placing ourselves in the territory of lust, we are placing ourselves on his turf, and HE has the home court advantage. And since we have been commanded to flee sexual sin, we are disobeying a direct order, and placing ourselves in the line of fire.

I have discovered since my divorce there are places I dare not go because of the lust that is prevalent in those places. And there are women I cannot ask for a date, because I know I will be putting myself in a dangerous place. And I am talking about Christian women, in the singles ministry at our church.

So resist whom you need to resist
and
flee from what you need to flee.

If someone with multiple personalities threatens to kill himself, is it considered a hostage situation?
Is there another word for "synonym"?

Don't you find it unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice"?

When sign-makers go on strike, is anything written on their signs?

Where do forest rangers go to "get away from it all"?

Why isn't there mouse-flavored or robin-flavored cat food?

What do you do when you see an endangered animal eating an endangered plant?

Stress - good advice Jul 12, 2008 5:42 pm

Don't bother doing well, what you shouldn't be doing at all!

I've caught myself of doing a really good job of things that don't matter. And usually I am doing it because I don't want to do the things that do matter. So I really busy myself doing the things that don't matter.

The question is not how hard are you working, but are you doing the things you are supposed to be doing. And in any concept of success, that little principle has to sit in there: WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN CALLED TO DO?? How many people have been offered on their altars of success??
