My Little Bit of Heaven

Most of you are going through the same or similar trials and tribulations as I am though your stories may be a little different we are all still in the same boat. My prayer is that my little bit of heaven will make your little bit of heaven just a little bit better. May the Lord richly bless you all, cheers.

In The Sand

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey, they had an argument and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, he wrote in the sand: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE!"
They kept on walking, until they found an oasis where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but his friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE!"
The friend, who had slapped and saved his best friend, asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?" The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand where the winds of forgiveness can erase it away, but when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone, where no wind can ever erase it."

Have you ever known God to be an unfair judge?

God is a judge who is perfectly fair. Psalm 7:11 NLT

Don't say, "I will get even for this wrong." Wait for the Lord to handle the matter. Proverbs 20:22

In football, referees tell you whether a catch was made in bounds or not. In tennis, linesmen render instant judgment calls on whether a ball landed in or out. In baseball, umpires signal fair or foul.
But in life if often seems as though the game isn't being played fairly and that no one is around to call foul. Flagrant violations of the rules go unnoticed, and so many people are playing out-of-bounds and getting away with it.
Sometimes we do see the harmful effects of playing out-of-bounds (see Psalm 7:15 or Numbers 32:23). But other times the Lord's ruling extends farther than our mortal eye can see. Paul told the Athenians that God "has set a day for judging the world with justice" (Acts 17:31), so we can trust that he will one day set everything right, although we may not see his ruling in our lifetime.
Let us thank God that he is the just Judge over all the earth.

Dear God,

I'm writing to say I'm sorry
For being angry yesterday
When you seemed to ignore my prayer
And things didn't go my way

First, my car broke down
I was very late for work
But I missed that awful accident
Was that your handiwork?

I found a house I loved
But others got there first
I was angry, then relieved
When I heard the pipes had burst!

Yesterday, I found the perfect dress
But the color was too pale
Today, I found the dress in red
Would you believe, it was on sale!

I know you're watching over me
And I'm feeling truly blest
For no matter what I pray for
You always know what's best!

I have this circle of BC friends,
Who mean the world to me;
Some days I "send" and "send,"
At other times, I let them be.

I am so blessed to have these friends,
With whom I've grown so close;
So this little poem I dedicate to them,
Because to me they are the "Most"!

When I see each name download,
And view the blogs they've sent;
I know they've thought of me that day,
And "well wishes" were their intent.

So to you, my BC friends, I would like to say,
Thank you for being a part;
Of all my daily contacts,
This comes right from my heart.

God bless you all is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until we write again.

The Devastation Of LOneliness

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!” Ecc. 4:9, 10 NIV

Among the saddest words in the Bible are these spoken by King David when he says: "No man cared for my soul" (Ps. 142:4).

I suppose that if we were to list sorrowful experiences in order of how deeply they hurt, loneliness would appear at the top of the roster. In one of our churches there was a dear old man who had lost his wife after living with her for more than forty years. Actually, the last few years before her death had been most wearing and confining for him, because he had to care for her day and night. Everyone thought that it would be a relief when she died. But this man was pitiful in his loneliness. At night he paced the floor in desperation, and he longed for some sort of companionship. He would have gladly exchanged all his newfound freedom for the old exhausting vigilance near the sickbed.
A person needs more than freedom. He needs a place to call home and people to whom he belongs. It means everything to have a family and friends who will claim you as their own and who will love you and pray for you though they know your faults and weaknesses. The most warming and satisfying moments of life have been those when, after traveling to distant places for weeks and even months, one returns to home and family. This feeling of being welcomed and accepted is matchless in its comfort. It supplies the strength and purpose for difficult tasks and long days of work?
And so today I would remind you to thank God for people who cherish you; but more than that, let me encourage you to look about you and seek out those who no longer can claim this happy fellowship. If you find someone who is lonely, stretch out to him or her a hand of love and friendship, better still, give them a hug. Hugs have a way of warming the heart, and healing the broken spirit. Share with them some of your priceless gift of communion.
Remember, whatever be our situation in life, we have a sure Guide. Whatever be our condition, He is our Counselor. Whatever be our loneliness, He is our Friend in whom we may ever trust. God’s promise is: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

The Meaning of Peace

There was once a king who offered a prize to the artist who could paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The king looked at all the pictures, but there were only two that he really liked, and he had to choose between them.
One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for the peaceful towering mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.
The second picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell, and in which lightening played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But when the king looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest, a perfect picture of peace.
Which of the pictures won the prize? The king chose the second picture. Do you know why? "Because," explained the king, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace."

Half of the mistakes made in your relationship will most likely be yours. That's a deep but mathematically accurate thought. It is typical in our church men's meeting to talk about all of the things that women do in the relationship. From what I've heard, the women's meeting is the same. All of the quirks, the errors, the unappreciative and inconsiderate things, how "they" have to be babied, if only "they" were more mature, and that it is a good thing that "we" are so much more mature in order to be able to put up with "them."
Yet in truth, each side makes about half of the mistakes. It is always difficult to see our own faults. It's always easy to see the other person's shortcomings. I sometimes wonder "where has the love gone?" You rarely hear anyone say, "I know they have their weaknesses, but I love them so much that it doesn't matter." You rarely hear anyone say, "I got in this for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, rich or poor.
That's what Isaid and that's what I mean; and I'm so glad I married him/her." We had one man in the men's meeting recently who had been married for 46 years and said that he loved his wife a thousand times more now than he did when he married. He was the oldest man in the group. He was also perhaps the wisest. It was refreshing. You hear so much of the things wrong in relationships, but you very rarely hear how much in love a couple is. Even if people feel it, they don't say it very much. Neither of them. Now who's fault is that?

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Galatians 5:22 NLT

When big problems come, there is something in all of us that wants to bail out, throw in the towel, wave the white flag of surrender, and retreat to someplace less stressful.
This explains why so many people under great stress and strain walk away from God, a marriage, a friendship, or a church. When the future looks stormy or uncertain, it becomes easy to rationalize, to jettison one's convictions, to go back on promises.
Before you succumb to panic and start to renege on a commitment, you need to strongly consider God's promise. It tells us that we have something within us (Someone, actually) who desires for us to be loyal and who gives us the courage and grit to hang tough. The Holy Spirit will, if you ask him, enable you to persevere–even in the face of overwhelming trouble.

Praying God's Promise
God, you are always faithful to me. By the power of your Spirit, help me to keep my commitments in tough times. I want to be reliable and trustworthy. I want to be wholly devoted to you, through thick and thin. Fill me with your Spirit so that I have the courage to stand firm.

Well I thought I was done the last time I moved but that is not the case. Charie loaded up the van today as we took the first load to the new or different place, not new, hahahaha. Now we just need some muscle to get it all done. I had a friend donate most of the appliances that we will need at the new place just need to get them moved over there and I am also in contact with our church which I am sure will provide some much needed muscle to help us move as well.
As you can tell from the number of my blogs not on here as much either but then it seems that not many people are coming around BC these days anyway.
No worries on my part this blog was done mostly for my benefit as I continue to lose my mind, hahahaha, I can always look back and read about some of the things going on in my life, cheers.
