My Little Bit of Heaven

Most of you are going through the same or similar trials and tribulations as I am though your stories may be a little different we are all still in the same boat. My prayer is that my little bit of heaven will make your little bit of heaven just a little bit better. May the Lord richly bless you all, cheers.

PATIENCE Sep 21, 2008 5:10 pm

A young woman really thought she'd been very patient, through a long period of dating with no talk of marriage.
One night her steady boyfriend took her out to a Chinese restaurant. As he looked over the menu, he casually asked her, "So... how do you want your rice? plain or fried?"
Without missing a beat, she looked over her menu at him and
replied.... "Thrown."

Love Forgives: Sep 21, 2008 1:09 pm

“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.” Galatians 5:22

“Christian love is slow to censure, quick to discern penitence, ready to forgive, to encourage, to set the wanderer in the path of holiness, and to stay his feet therein.” – The Desire of Ages p. 462

“Ready to forgive” – nothing but misery is gained by the unforgiving. Happiness is the path of him who forgives. If only we could learn this lesson of the Master! How often the truly penitent heart is crushed by the unforgiving spirit. Shouldn’t we remember that if we are to be saved, God must forgive us a thousand times more than we are called on to forgive one another?

“Neither do I condemn thee.”—Read the tenderhearted pity and love and compassion in those words. Oh to have Christ say that of us in the judgment! But never will those words be spoken to an unforgiving man or woman.

“Slow to censure.” We need to take time to think and to pray before we criticize.

“Quick to discern penitence.” The discerning of spirits is a gift of the Holy Spirit made available to every Christian. Seek to understand the repentant look.

“Ready to encourage.” Just a word of hope or courage may take the erring one out of the pit of despair and hopelessness.

These are fruits of Christian love. Is someone waiting for the love of Christ in our life to speak forgiveness? Is husband or wife, son or daughter, close friend or casual acquaintance, longing to hear our words spoken in tender love, “All is forgiven”? For his sake and yours do not make him wait longer.
What a privilege is ours to share the forgiving spirit of Christ even up to “seventy times seven” if necessary!

Comeback Line Sep 20, 2008 10:08 pm

This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion Of National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster and US Marine Corps General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?
GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?
GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.
GENERAL REINWALD: Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?
The radio went silent and the interview ended.

How God created Adam Sep 20, 2008 8:12 pm

If God had created Eve first, what might have transpired: After three weeks in the garden, God came to visit Eve. "How are things, Eve?", He asked. "It is all so beautiful, God," she replied, "The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking, the smells, the sights, everything is wonderful. But I just have this one problem. It's these breasts you've given me. The middle one pushes the other two out, and I am constantly knocking them
with my arms, catching them on branches, snagging them on bushes,
they're a real pain."
"That's a fair point," replied God, "but it was my first shot at this, you know. I gave the animals what, six? So I just figured you'd need half, but I see that you are tight. I'll fix that up right away!" and God reaches down and removes the middle breast, tossing it into the bushes.
Three weeks passed, and God again visited Eve in the garden. "Well, Eve, how's my favorite creation?" He asked.
"Just fantastic," she replied, "but for one small oversight on your part. You see, all the animals are paired off. The ewe has her ram, the cow has her bull, all the animals have a mate, except me. I feel so alone."
God thought for a moment. "You know, Eve, you're right. How could I have overlooked this! You do need a mate and I will immediately create Man from a part of you! Now, let's see, where did I leave that useless boob?"

A Friend Like You : Sep 20, 2008 12:04 am

There's lots of things
With which I'm blessed,
My problems have been few,
But of all, this one's the best
To have a friend like you.

In times of trouble
Friends will say,
"Just ask, I'll help you through it."
But, you don't wait for me to ask,
You just get up and do it!

And I can think
Of nothing more
That I could wisely do,
Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And have a friend like you.

Make A Joyful Noise, Little Billy's Way Sep 19, 2008 7:57 pm

My precious baby boy, over 22 pounds now and almost as big as Skye who is 5 years older, hahahahaha, Skye only weighs 32 pounds, hahahaha.
Anyway forgot to share last week at church and during the week. Little Billy is now singing, hahahaha, or at least that is what I think he is trying to do.
He is also starting with the separation anxiety parts as well which led to this. We drop him off in the nursery and then the kids come with me to children's church and Charie goes to the main service.
Anyway right after the service started they could not get ahold of Charie for whatever reason and they came over to my service but I was in the middle of mine as well with the children but held up long enough to get Billy and put him on my lap while I continue to give the lesson to the children.
Any time we would play the music Little Billy would sing along as well. He would make an ah sound but it would last for like 5 seconds or so. Anyway during the commercial break I took him over to the main service and gave him to Charie and after my service which normally ends before the main service I took my children and went to get Charie only to find her outside.
I asked her why she was here instead of the main service and she told me about Little Billy's singing and everybody staring at her, hahahahaha. Charie is still very quiet and to herself so not use to people staring at her. I just told her Little Billy was making a joyful noise and singing and she now understood so we went into the service as they were finishing up the singing at the end.
My baby boy: Make a joyful noise, sing unto the Lord, tell Him of your love, dance before Him, Make a joyful Noise.

You Are Where God Wants You To Be: Sep 19, 2008 6:39 pm

The next time your morning seems to be going wrong and the kidsare slow getting dressed and you can't seem to find the car keysand you hit every traffic light, don't get mad or frustrated. Praise God instead, because God is at work watching over you. After Sept. 11, I happened to call a man on business whom I didn't know and haven't, nor will probably ever talk to again. But on this particular day, he felt like talking. He was the head of security for a company that had invited the remaining members of another company who had been decimated by the attack on the Twin Towers to share their office space.
With his voice full of awe, he told me stories of why these people are alive and their counterparts no longer were. In the end, all the stories were just about little things that happen to us. You might know the head of the company got in late that day because his son started kindergarten. Another fellow is alive because it was his turn to bring donuts. There were other stories that I hope and pray will someday be gathered and put in a book.
The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot. He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive today.
Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone, all the little things that annoy me, I think to myself, this is exactly where God wants me to be at this very moment.
May God continue to bless you with all those annoying little things.

You've worn out the handle on your favorite coffee mug.

You go to AA meetings just for the free coffee.

You've worn the finish off you coffee table.

The Taster's Choice couple wants to adopt you.

Starbuck's owns the mortgage on your house.

You're so wired you pick up FM radio.

Your life's goal is to "amount to a hill of beans."

Instant coffee takes too long.

You want to be cremated just so you can spend eternity in a coffee can.

You name your cats "Cream" and "Sugar."

Your lips are permanently stuck in the sipping position.

Your first-aid kit contains two pints of coffee with an I.V. hookup.

When Will Jesus Come again?? Sep 18, 2008 8:01 pm

Through the years many attempts have been made to determine the date. Why? I do not understand it as the bible clearly says that NO man knows the day or the hour, not even Jesus but only God knows when He will send His Son back for us and yet the following people are just a few examples of those who thought they had figured it out the day of the second coming.
What possess them to think that they were better then God and what possess those followers to continue to follow those leaders in spite of what the bible clearly says on this matter.
If the bible says it then I believe it but that is just my opinion as to me the bible is the Word of GOD and my GOD never lies to me.

William Miller set the day May 21, 1843. When that date failed, he refigured it for October 22, 1844.

Joseph Smith announced the coming of the Lord was nigh in 1835.

Charles Taze Russell of the Jehovah's Witnesses said that the Lord came invisibly in 1874. He later changed it to 1914.

Joseph Franklin Rutherford published a tract in 1920 announcing that Jesus’ coming would be in 1925.

Hal Lindsey, in his book, The Late Great Planet Earth, said that Jesus would return within 48 years of 1948.

We could give more examples, but, "What's the lesson we're to learn?"

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Matthew 24:44

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. Matthew 25:13

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Mark 13:32

You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him." Luke 12:40

So I say again why does man continue to predict and go against what the word of GOD says, cheers.
