Have you ever known God to be an unfair judge?

God is a judge who is perfectly fair. Psalm 7:11 NLT
Don't say, "I will get even for this wrong." Wait for the Lord to handle the matter. Proverbs 20:22
In football, referees tell you whether a catch was made in bounds or not. In tennis, linesmen render instant judgment calls on whether a ball landed in or out. In baseball, umpires signal fair or foul. But in life if often seems as though the game isn't being played fairly and that no one is around to call foul. Flagrant violations of the rules go unnoticed, and so many people are playing out-of-bounds and getting away with it. Sometimes we do see the harmful effects of playing out-of-bounds (see Psalm 7:15 or Numbers 32:23). But other times the Lord's ruling extends farther than our mortal eye can see. Paul told the Athenians that God "has set a day for judging the world with justice" (Acts 17:31), so we can trust that he will one day set everything right, although we may not see his ruling in our lifetime. Let us thank God that he is the just Judge over all the earth.

Dear God,
I'm writing to say I'm sorry For being angry yesterday When you seemed to ignore my prayer And things didn't go my way
First, my car broke down I was very late for work But I missed that awful accident Was that your handiwork?
I found a house I loved But others got there first I was angry, then relieved When I heard the pipes had burst!
Yesterday, I found the perfect dress But the color was too pale Today, I found the dress in red Would you believe, it was on sale!
I know you're watching over me And I'm feeling truly blest For no matter what I pray for You always know what's best!
I have this circle of BC friends, Who mean the world to me; Some days I "send" and "send," At other times, I let them be.
I am so blessed to have these friends, With whom I've grown so close; So this little poem I dedicate to them, Because to me they are the "Most"!
When I see each name download, And view the blogs they've sent; I know they've thought of me that day, And "well wishes" were their intent.
So to you, my BC friends, I would like to say, Thank you for being a part; Of all my daily contacts, This comes right from my heart. God bless you all is my prayer today, I'm honored to call you "friend"; I pray the Lord will keep you safe, Until we write again.

The Devastation Of LOneliness

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!” Ecc. 4:9, 10 NIV
Among the saddest words in the Bible are these spoken by King David when he says: "No man cared for my soul" (Ps. 142:4).
I suppose that if we were to list sorrowful experiences in order of how deeply they hurt, loneliness would appear at the top of the roster. In one of our churches there was a dear old man who had lost his wife after living with her for more than forty years. Actually, the last few years before her death had been most wearing and confining for him, because he had to care for her day and night. Everyone thought that it would be a relief when she died. But this man was pitiful in his loneliness. At night he paced the floor in desperation, and he longed for some sort of companionship. He would have gladly exchanged all his newfound freedom for the old exhausting vigilance near the sickbed. A person needs more than freedom. He needs a place to call home and people to whom he belongs. It means everything to have a family and friends who will claim you as their own and who will love you and pray for you though they know your faults and weaknesses. The most warming and satisfying moments of life have been those when, after traveling to distant places for weeks and even months, one returns to home and family. This feeling of being welcomed and accepted is matchless in its comfort. It supplies the strength and purpose for difficult tasks and long days of work? And so today I would remind you to thank God for people who cherish you; but more than that, let me encourage you to look about you and seek out those who no longer can claim this happy fellowship. If you find someone who is lonely, stretch out to him or her a hand of love and friendship, better still, give them a hug. Hugs have a way of warming the heart, and healing the broken spirit. Share with them some of your priceless gift of communion. Remember, whatever be our situation in life, we have a sure Guide. Whatever be our condition, He is our Counselor. Whatever be our loneliness, He is our Friend in whom we may ever trust. God’s promise is: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

The Meaning of Peace

There was once a king who offered a prize to the artist who could paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The king looked at all the pictures, but there were only two that he really liked, and he had to choose between them. One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for the peaceful towering mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace. The second picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell, and in which lightening played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But when the king looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest, a perfect picture of peace. Which of the pictures won the prize? The king chose the second picture. Do you know why? "Because," explained the king, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace."
