My Little Bit of Heaven

Most of you are going through the same or similar trials and tribulations as I am though your stories may be a little different we are all still in the same boat. My prayer is that my little bit of heaven will make your little bit of heaven just a little bit better. May the Lord richly bless you all, cheers.

Blessing or Curse? ? Aug 16, 2008 9:58 pm

Two men lost their way in a forest. The first one despaired, but the second one said maybe some good will come of this. They came upon a stranger who needed the second man’s help. The stranger turned out to be a prince who gave the man a beautiful horse. His neighbors praised his good luck and said, “How blessed you are to have such a magnificent animal.” The man said, “Who’s to say whether it’s a blessing or a curse?”
The next day the horse ran away, and the neighbors said, “How horrible that you were cursed with the loss of your horse.” The man replied, “Who’s to say whether it’s a curse or a blessing? Perhaps some good will come of this.”
The next day the horse returned, leading five wild ones. “You were right!” his neighbors exclaimed, “The curse was a blessing in disguise. Now you’re blessed with six horses.”
The man replied, “Perhaps, but who’s to say whether it’s a blessing or a curse?”
The next day, his only son tried to ride one of the wild horses. He was thrown to the ground and broke his leg. The neighbors said, “How wise you were. Your blessing was really a curse.”
The man replied, “There may be good yet. Who’s to say whether it’s a curse or a blessing?”
The next week, soldiers came through the village and took every able-bodied boy to fight in a war where it was almost certain all would be killed. Because the man’s son was injured, he was the only one not taken. “How blessed are you to have your son!” the neighbors said.
The man replied, "Who’s to say? I don’t know whether there’s a curse in every blessing, but I’m sure there’s a blessing in every curse."

The Buttocks Aug 16, 2008 8:06 pm

A married couple was in a terrible accident
where the man's face was severely burned. The doctor told the husband that they couldn't graft any skin from his body because he was too skinny. So the wife offered to donate some of her own skin. However, the only skin on her body
that the doctor felt was suitable would have
to come from her buttocks. The husband and wife
agreed that they would tell no one about where the skin came from, and they requested that the doctor also honor their secret.
After all, this was a very delicate matter. After the surgery was completed, everyone was astounded at the man's new face. He looked more handsome than he ever had before! All his friends and relatives just went on and on
about his youthful beauty! One day, he was alone with his wife, and he was overcome with emotion at her sacrifice.
He said, 'Dear, I just want to thank you for everything you did for me. How can I possibly repay you?' My darling,' she replied, 'I get all the thanks I need every time I see your mother kiss you on the cheek.'

The Ninth Inning: Aug 16, 2008 7:15 pm

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16.

All sports fans know that it is the fondest dream of a baseball pitcher to be able to carry the game through its full nine innings. And as the team begins warming up another pitcher in the bullpen, they know that it is time for the man on the mound to improve or he will certainly be replaced. Enough stamina to go the distance is required by every sportsman, be he tennis player, runner, swimmer, or weight lifter. Each in his own way trains, works, and practices so that he will have that extra something that enables him to keep on going.
But, really, this need is not limited to the world of sports. It touches life at every point. Who has not wondered at some time in his experience whether he would be able to make it?
In his letter to the Christian church at Rome, Paul certainly gives the answer. He tells them and us today, that with Christ we will press on to the goal. He is the power unto salvation. We have His help in everything. His steadfast love never ceases, and no matter where we are, His loving arm is ever present to lift us when we have fallen.
Christians in every land on earth have felt this power. During this ministry I have seen them and heard them fervently testify of it. Some have lost parents, children, husbands, wives. They have suffered physical wounds and painful ailments; yet while at their lowest ebb, they were able to say, as one courageous Christian wrote: “I hit rock bottom, only to find the hand of God reaching out to sustain me in my extremity. I know the power of God.”
Surely we cannot be ashamed of such sustaining, triumphant power, which we need every step of the way.

I've run away to join a different circus.

I will be out of the office for the next two weeks for medical reasons. When I return, please refer to me as 'Lucille' instead of Steve.
