My Little Bit of Heaven

Most of you are going through the same or similar trials and tribulations as I am though your stories may be a little different we are all still in the same boat. My prayer is that my little bit of heaven will make your little bit of heaven just a little bit better. May the Lord richly bless you all, cheers.

Honey," I said to Charie, "I invited a friend home for supper."
"What? Are you crazy? The house is a mess, I didn't go shopping, all the dishes are dirty, and I don't feel like cooking fancy meal!"
"I know all that."
"Then why did you invite a friend for supper?"
"Because the poor fool's thinking about getting married."

No Matter Who Wins The Election, These Things Will Not Change Nov 2, 2008 1:45 pm

The Bible will still have all the answers.

Prayer will still work.

The Holy Spirit will still move.

God will still inhabit the praises of His people.

There will still be God-anointed preaching

There will still be singing of praise to God.

God will still pour out blessings upon His People.

There will still be room at the Cross.

Jesus will still love you.

Jesus will still save the lost when they come to him.

ISN'T IT GREAT TO KNOW WHO IS REALLY IN CONTROL

Our Democracy Nov 1, 2008 8:05 pm
95 Views
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.

"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.

"From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the
beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200
years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;

2. From spiritual faith to great courage;

3. From courage to liberty;

4. From liberty to abundance;

5. From abundance to complacency;

6. From complacency to apathy;

7. From apathy to dependence;

8. From dependence back into bondage.

Become informed. Disregard the lies, misinformation and innuendoes. Vote for the candidates who truly understand what it's like to be middle-class in this country. Vote for the most honest, ethical people you can, regardless of political party. Please don't vote for the wealthy ones who want to continue the Bush policies of taking from the poor taxpayer and giving our money to their rich friends.

Are You At Home With Yourself?? Nov 1, 2008 6:38 pm

“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, “that Christ is in you?”—unless indeed you are disqualified.” 2 Corinthians 13:5.

“Know thyself” was the doctrine of the ancient philosopher. Many of us are strangers to our real self, and we need someone to introduce us to our own personality. We go through life without facing our own weaknesses or correcting them. We refuse to meet ourselves face to face and critically analyze our deepest motives. We like to think we are something different from what we are. We associate with those who flatter us. It is easier to keep cheerful when in a crowd where one need not face himself.
There many who are miserable when they are alone. Alcibiades, the gifted Greek, always seemed to be depressed. He traveled much and visited many countries. All wondered why a man of his ability and wide travel never appeared happy. They asked this question of the renowned philosopher Socrates. He replied, “The reason for Alcibiades’ misery is that wherever he travels he always takes himself with him.”
If we travel through life with our unconverted, self-centered hearts, we are certain to be unhappy, but when we give ourselves away to Christ, life for us takes on a new meaning. With His help we are able to face and correct our defects of character. With Him by our side, joy and happiness can be ours.
If we are continually thinking of ourselves and not of others, we will have no satisfaction in life. Had Christ considered His glory and dignity in heaven and the honor bestowed on Him by sinless angels He would not have come down to walk this lowly earth among the sons of men. But when He considered our great need and our lost condition He was willing to lay aside everything to come to save us. He descended even to the depths of the grave that He might lift us to the heights of heaven.
Here is a statement from one of my favorite authors: “So those who are the partakers of the grace of Christ will be ready to make any sacrifice, that others for whom He died may share the heavenly gift. They will do all they can to make the world better for their stay in it. This spirit is the sure outgrowth of a soul truly converted. No sooner does one come to Christ than there is born in his heart a desire to make known to others what a precious friend he has found in Jesus; the saving and sanctifying truth cannot be shut up in his heart.”

A man was complaining: Nov 1, 2008 4:03 pm

Oh Lord, please have mercy on me, I work so hard, meantime my wife stays at home, I would give anything if you would grant me one wish "switch me into my wife" she's got it easy at home I want to teach her a lesson of how tough a man's life is.
As God was listening he felt sorry for this soul and granted his wish. Next morning the "new woman" wakes up at dawn, makes lunch boxes, prepares breakfast, wakes up the kids for school, puts a load of clothes in the washer, takes the meat out of the freezer, drives the kids to school, on his way back stop at the gas station, cashes a check, pays the electricity and phone bills, picks up some clothes from the cleaners, quickly goes to the market. It was 1: 00 o'clock already, he made the beds, took the clothes out of the washer and put another load in, he vacuumed the house, made some rice, went to pick up the kids from school, had an argument with the kids. As soon as he got home he fed the kids, washed the dirty dishes, he hung the damp clothes he had washed on the chairs because it was raining outside. He helped the kids with their homework, watched some TV while he ironed some clothes, prepared dinner, he gave the kids a bath and put them to sleep. At 9:00 o'clock he was so tired and he went to bed.
Of course there was some more duties and some how he managed to get them done and finally fell a sleep. The next morning he prays to God once againh Lord, what was I thinking when I asked you to grant my wish, I can't take it anymore. I beg you please switch me back to myself, please oh please. Then he heard God's voice speaking to him, saying: Dear son of course I'llswitch you back into yourself but there's one minor detail, you will have to wait 9 months because last night you got pregnant!!!

Actual Answering Machine Messages Nov 1, 2008 2:48 pm

Actual answering machine answers recorded and verified by the world-famous International Institute of Answering Machine Answers...

My wife and I can't come to the phone right now, but if you'll leave your name and number, we'll get back to you as soon as we're finished.

A is for academics, B is for beer. One of those reasons is why we're not here. So leave a message.

Hi. This is John. If you are the phone company, I already sent the money. If you are my parents, please send money. If you are my financial aid institution, you didn't lend me enough money. If you are my friends, you owe me money. If you are a female, don't worry, I have plenty of money.

Hi, I'm not home right now but my answering machine is, so you can talk to it instead. Wait for the beep.

Hi! John's answering machine is broken. This is his refrigerator. Please speak very slowly, and I'll stick your message to myself with one of these magnets.

Hello, this is Sally's microwave. Her answering machine just eloped with her tape deck, so I'm stuck with taking her calls. Say, if you want anything cooked while you leave your message, just hold it up to the phone.

Hello, you are talking to a machine. I am capable of receiving messages. My owners do not need siding, windows, or a hot tub, and their carpets are clean. They give to charity through their office and do not need their picture taken. If you're still with me, leave your name and number and they will get back to you.

This is not an answering machine -- this is a telepathic thought-recording device. After the tone, think about your name, your reason for calling and a number where I can reach you, and I'll think about returning your call.

Hi. I am probably home. I'm just avoiding someone I don't like. Leave me a message, and if I don't call back, it's you.

Hi, this is George. I'm sorry I can't answer the phone right now. Leave a message, and then wait by your phone until I call you back.

If you are a burglar, then we're probably at home cleaning our weapons right now and can't come to the phone. Otherwise, we probably aren't home and it's safe to leave us a message.

You're growing tired. Your eyelids are getting heavy. You feel very sleepy now. You are gradually losing your willpower and your ability to resist suggestions. When you hear the tone you will feel helplessly compelled to leave your name, number, and a message.

Please leave a message. However, you have the right to remain silent. Everything you say will be recorded and will be used by us.

Hello, you've reached Jim and Sonya. We can't pick up the phone right now, because we're doing something we really enjoy. Sonya likes doing it up and down, and I like doing it left to right real slowly. So leave a message, and when we're done brushing our teeth, we'll get back to you.

The U in JesUs Nov 1, 2008 2:05 pm
80 Views
Before U were thought of or time had begun, God stuck U in the name of His Son. And each time U pray, you'll see it's true, You can't spell out JesUs and not include U.
You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name, For U, He was born; that's why He came. And His great love for U is the reason He died. It even takes U to spell crUcified.
Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand He rose from the dead, with U in His plan? The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew, And this word resUrrection is spelled with a U.
When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension, He felt there was one thing He just had to mention. 'Go into the world and tell them it's true That I love them all Just like I love U.'
