Follow Bible Or Spirit? Mar 25, 2006 2:41 am

How Ya Doin SpiritFans?

I have never seen anywhere in the Bible where we are told to Follow The Bible. I see many places in the Bible where we are told to follow the Spirit, such as Romans 8.

Sometimes I believe people are saved only to spend the rest of their life trying to prove why they don't need saving. They try to follow the letter of the Bible not the Spirit.

The Bible is a lamp unto our feet, but the personal interpretation is the Holy Spirits revealing to us. The practical application in our individual life is the Holy Spirits.

Jesus spent much time trying to explain this to the ever so strict narrow letter of the law following religious leaders of his day. We still have these strict narrowly focused I am right and you are wrong people in Church today.

How do you follow the Spirit then? I believe we have to know the Bible all right, but also in prayer and commitment to God ask Him to show us how He would do things in our individual life? This is an ongoing growing experience with God.

Remember the law of God is written on our hearts now. We are saved by Jesus goodness, not and never ours. We need to stop shouting to the world how good we are now, and individually listen inside to the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit inside. Then we will learn how to be godly parents, who to marry, how to work at our job, how to get along with people as much as possible, and have some real loyal friends.

Wow, let The Spirit lead !

End Of Discussion Mar 23, 2006 3:50 pm

Hi SpiritFans,

Once the discussion of the many moral issues we deal with daily in our life becomes strident, and dogmatic, and I am right and you are wrong, it is over. Paul revealed to us that the Lord is able to make all parties stand, that is all can be acceptable to Him. For example, one person belives everyday is the Lords day. Another Paul said believes the Sabbath is the Lords day. In our time people believe Sunday is the Lords day. Our conscience should be respected by all people concerned says Paul. Respect each others interpretation. Those who are more closed milnded and dogmatic are weakest and need to be left alone. They belong to the Lord and don't destroy them because of your more open liberal conscientious views. Let the discussion flow until it becomes I am right and you are wrong. Then it is over. To force discussion past that would make them both wrong.

S I N - A Paradigm Shift Mar 20, 2006 10:21 pm

Hi SpiritFans,

The law of Moses makes it clear what sin is, most people will say. I feel its deeper than that. In my view the Law makes a case to us what the results of sin are. The law shows me many areas of my life where I sin. Originally, God and man were in perfect partnership. God was the senior partner and man was the junior partner. They worked together in everything. God decided and man abided. Life is way too complicated for the junior partner to decide. Its God's very essential nature to always be in charge. When man decided to decide, the consequences soon bcame awful. An evil force took over as senior partner and the results are evident.

As sin is a violation of the partnership arrangement with God, faith in Jesus is the beginning of a new partnership with God again with Him as my senior partner and me as junior. Its only begun. The best is yet to come.

This daily partnership works and is much fun. Its the best discovery of life.

Hi SpiritFans,

Goes around comes around.. the most basic law of the universe.. the law gives away for us when we come under Jesus.. because we need the Holy Spirit of Jesus to follow Gods will. We should know by now we can't do it ourself. Giving is just one of many things in the law.. that I need help with from the Holy Spirit. Follow The Spirit, not the law, and I will find myself keeping the law better. Oh well, I feel like a lone voice in the wilderness sometimes. Least I have someting to say, and enjoy the insights. The more I give for others.. the more I seem to have for myself. Its so strange.

Is Sunday The Only Day? Mar 18, 2006 7:33 am

Hi SpiritFans,

Its more complicated than a simple yes/no.. WE need to be in fellowship with the body of Christ of which we are members and a vital part. Friendships developed through the body of Christ meeting together are the most important friendships in life and are vital to our health.. well being.. yet we need to work. If we lose our work over attending church we may not be attending church for long.. if we don't attend church assemblies.. we will lose vital support for life and the functioning of our spiritual gift where it is likely needed. Its a catch 22. Let the Spirit lead us to figure out a way to do both. There are church's that meet on Friday evenings. They are called messianic. There are Wednesday prayer fellowships that meet weekly.. Its not so much a problem to find a church thats meeting when we are not working unless we are stuck on Sunday as the only day on which to meet.

Hi SpiritFans,

I feel that the piercing went far more than His hands and feet.. when he became sin (for us) who knew no sin.. wasn't that a more deep piercing? It seems to me that the agony of Jesus in the Garden was not just the disprespect and crucifixion, but much more being touched by sin and becoming sin.. so revolting, so ugly, so nauseating, but because of the joy set before Him (which I believe was seeing that He would save millions and millions of souls from such a fate,) He endured the cross (total experience ). This indeed is cooperation with God the Father, and the deepest service. For someone who is innocent and squeakin clean as Jesus, this would be like throwing used motor oil on a beautiful bride in white with a long train. I feel its really beyond our human comprehension. The good news is that His piercing is more than sufficient to take away our worst sins, and the resurrection the scripture says is even more assurance. Amen.

Which statement about marriage is most true?
Everyone should someday get married.
Marriage should be done only between soulmates.
Marriage is for life.
The mature only should try it.
Marriage is for heterosexuals only
Marriage is an economic partnership only
The decision to marry is too important and should be decided by parents for their children
Marriage should be attempted only when in love.
Marry for love first, money second, and sex thrid.
