A car for every family member? Some years ago there was one car per family. Now, I see driveways and lawns full of cars in front of most houses on the block at night. Most family members drive and most have individual cars.

Economies are expanding, and population is growing. All this diminishes our quality of life and resources. Looking at our world from space, it is obviously limited. Its not growing in size. We are damaging our world. The resources are being used up or destroyed. Our world is limited. The human population in spite of wars and disease is increasing. Something has to give and I am thinking it is probably going to be our planet.

To go green means to be efficient, less is more, reduce extravagance. Jesus is the model of going green. There is not one reader of this post who has less earthly possessions that Jesus. Most all of us have more, much more in fact than Jesus. Yet, we respect Him as Lord. Is there a lesson in this?

Pope Benedict XVI Apr 17, 2008 6:44 am

With 46,000 people in attendance at the Washington National Park Stadium, a 75 foot tall altar, and a 14 foot tall crucifix, the pope is celebrating mass today. It is being broadcast live on national TV.

How do I feel about the pope visiting America? There is a lot of healing that needs to take place. Even a little healing would be good. I am glad he honestly admitted he is ashamed of the scandals. There needs to be confession.

To me the power of religion in this sinful world still impresses me. The President doesn't usually go to Andrews air force base and welcome foreign dignitaries. He did the pope. Should one church leader have so much power? Its a mute point really. He in fact does. Lets pray his visit is a positive and the overall Church is strengthened, that people are motivated, and most of all Jesus is glorified.

The Devil Speaks Through People Apr 14, 2008 6:59 pm

Can you hear satan when he is speaking through people? I don't know how many you have banned from your site, but I have banned around four persons who I am convinced are mouth pieces for satan.

What are some of the recognizable characteristics of the devil speaking through people? First, the comments of these people are always opposed to the truth. Jesus rebuked Peter for speaking for satan in opposing God's will. (Mt.16:22,23)

My experience is that when people make comments that are strangely twisted and distortions of the truth that the source is obvious. It's one thing to be seeking the truth, but to outright oppose it is diabolical. This blasphemy of the Spirit can not ever be corrected or resolved. There is no end to the arguments and opposition from these people.

Jesus often banned satan from His presence. When you detect satan commenting through people on your blog, you are doing yourself and your readers a favor by banning him.

Dating Sites: ..... The Right & The Wrong Apr 14, 2008 6:42 pm

Pictures, profiles, emails, chat, and maybe some visits are the scene now for many people wanting to find their perfect or close as possible match.

The bottom line in Christianity is simply God is allowed complete control of our life. This holy principle flies in the face of attempting to do this match making ourself. This is what is wrong with dating sites.

What is right with dating sites is that God can work through them just fine as long as He is allowed complete autonomy behind the scenes and when He is ready.

How the Devil Beats Us UP ! Apr 11, 2008 5:31 am

It does not have to be, but too often we are emotionally bloodied and bruised by the devil. WE fight but lose. WE try again , but lose again.

Doing things we don't want to do, thinking things we don't want to think, and saying things we don't want to say, WE wonder why?

A little girl once said that when the Devil knocked on her door that she sent Jesus to answer it. Someone once said to let go; let God. Scripture says not by power or might, but by My Spirit; again, the battle is the Lords.

What Jesus died for mainly was to give us privileged access. Are you fighting your battles alone? Thats the problem. You don't have to fight your battles alone.

The Lord does NOT want to hear us say help me Lord to do better, because that still leaves some of us in charge. He wants to hear us say Lord be in full complete charge today and lead me. If you don't notice the difference, then forget it.

One more point. The Lord is very respectful and not pushy. He wants to be invited into our daily life or He will walk on. For example, all remember after the resurrection Jesus having finished the conversation with the two men went on ahead and was leaving until they invited Him to stay the night with them. Then He did stay for a short time and broke the bread and blessed and their eyes were opened. Have you invited Jesus into your life today fully and completely to fight your battles for you?

The Power of Love... Watch OUT! Apr 5, 2008 3:29 am

This is hard to believe, but then we should believe God when He tells us there is more to us, more about us than we know.

Last October 2007 a lady prison guard at the Eldorado's Correctional maximum security prison in Kansas became romantically in love with one of the two inmates she helped escape. She used bolt cutters to cut through fence and locks. She says she now knows she was used. She gets five years in prison, three years probation and a big fine.

The Lord tells us what we love will consume us. Love is more powerful than we are. Watch out what or who you love? You might even say Judas narcissism or self love drove him to betray Jesus. In the name of love people have killed. Recently in the news a woman convinced a guy she would marry him if he would kill her present husband. He did. But she had no intention of marrying, just wanted the insurance money. Again self love, love of money, illicit love in play.

Who or what do you love the most? Jesus tells us there is only safety and promise and right in love of God first and foremost. Where our heart is will be where we are. Is so, always has been so, and always will be so.

Criticism and tearing down others in the name of love may well be love, but love of self, not others. WE need to understand that we can't help what we eventually do after we make our decision who we love, what we love. That decision has unalterable consequences, good or bad, depending on the choice of our love. The power of love takes over and rules our life. We have freedom of choice who we love and what we love, but not freedom of the consequences.

Are you choosing wisely? Are you choosing God to love the most?

Jesus Prime Directive.....Show Love & Explain Apr 3, 2008 6:13 am

By this all will know you are my disciples if you have LOVE to one another.

Do people see JESUS when they see you????

People are suppose to see JESUS when they see you. They are suppose to see love, tolerance, support, caring, understanding, helpfulness, gentleness, sensitivity and all the defining characteristics of Jesus.

The Holy Spirit pours this LOVE into our hearts. Rom. 5:5. WE are to be walking talking gospel engines. More than anything Jesus showed, He demonstrated, He lived it.

If people don't see Jesus when they see us, I would question whether He is in fact inside us?

Scathing judgment, virulent criticism, agitation has no place in His family because He is not like this. He is LOVE.

Remember, more than anything the devil is a critic of God's people, not a lover of God's people. The devil is called the accuser of the brethren. Two words define him and his people: critics, and liars.

Show love, and explain is our way.

Get it?

Sin & Sensitivity Apr 1, 2008 9:54 pm

From a person to a brute beast fit only for slaughter. Is this the scenario you thought?

Sin seems most attractive or we would not do it so readily. What sin does is file off the sensitivity of our personhood so that by continual sinning we are less and less a person and more and more an animal without feeling for God, others or ourself. In the end we become solely a creature of instinct.

No matter how much glamor, glitter and glitz is offered for sin, it just doesn't seem worth it when we know the truth that it dulls, degrades and destroys our sensitivity.

Confession, cleansing, and the Holy Spirit's promise to restore us is the way back to personhood and our full personality.

Be a person of christian faith and the result is a person sensitive to God, to others and to ourself.

There Is A Word, The Sound I Love To Hear Apr 1, 2008 2:30 pm

Felicity

I have heard of this word for a long time. Even the sound of it is pleasing. So I decided today to look it up and see what's what. According to Merriam Webster this noun showed up in the 14th century. I feel it really started in the first century with Jesus, but sometimes it takes a while for us people to catch on.

First it means being happy. Today I feel more felicitous than any times past, but not yet to the point of this word's emphasis on great happiness.

Second it means a specific happening that results in happiness. Holy Communion and a few conversations do this for me.

Third it means a pleasing manner or quality in art or in language. Jesus is all this. Scripture says He grew in wisdom, stature and in favor with God and man. The felicity of His words still are magnetic and resonate with meaning and sound unlike any other.

Fourth it means an apt expression. Yes, a fitting expression is like apples of gold. The Beatitudes so aptly say what will bring felicity into my life.

Felicity. Are you there yet? No, but at least we are gaining on it, and know where we are headed. Right?

Christianity? Are You Sure You Want This?? Apr 1, 2008 12:02 pm

You accepted Jesus as Lord to save yourself from the flames of hell, right? Nothing wrong with that really, but saved yourself from hell to what?

I wonder if people really know what Heaven is like? Enhanced personhood, personality growth, and membership in an wealthy family that is extremely interested in personality and getting along perfectly, rather than any possessions, or power, or pleasure, is what I feel is Heaven's focus.

Heaven is all about personality growth. Earth is all about power, possessions, and pleasure. The few times I have felt close in a personable way were like when I was very young with others, also in a Bible College setting, also at the beginning of a marriage, and a few times here on Big Church.

Heaven is about persons. Earth is about power, possessions, pleasure. Hell is about loss, absence of good, and extreme isolation. Jesus believes that personal closeness is the best thing people can ever have. Is this what we really want? As for me, its what I want the most.
