Degrulation...Devil's Delight

Oh how the devil must be pleased at the frenzy to deregulate. If only people would get rid of the rules more and more then hell would be so happy. We would have chaos, unending misfortune, disaster upon un requiting disaster.
Regulations are for our protection, provision, and prosperity. Deregulation is the surest prescription for heartache by the number.
Wall street created the stock market crash of 1929 and the great depression followed. Today, we see it again. The regulations put in place to give us safety following that economic calamity have been removed as much as possible. We gave Wall Street enough rope to hang themselves. We trusted Wall Street to behave with our money. The fox was invited into the hen house and trusted to behave.
Every moral issue needs regulation. Even as Christians we have regulations written on our heart. Its only with regulations that we have freedom and life. Deregulation results in our slavery and death.
Cu-dos to the devil. He is one slick willey is he not? Tell people free market economy without regulations is even better. Keep saying it. Maybe they will buy it if they hear it often enough. It actually sounds good, doesn't it?
This song and dance we have heard since Eden. WE were told then and ever since that we don't need God's regulations. From the graves of millions we can hear the whispers of those who bit into that apple, yes, yes we do!
Regulations give us freedom.

100's Of Car Dealerships Out Of Business !

Want a car? Have cash? Ok. Need a loan? Forget it.
One in five car dealerships are closing or in danger of closing.
Its about time the basic principles of scripture were honored, respected and followed. Expand with money in hand. Credit is sometimes a boondoggle.
Does God ever go on credit? No, He always pays cash. This is possible when we are His friend. We can too.

Life's Three Stages
|

Life has three stages.
First, is childhood. We learn who we are, what our gifts are, how to get along with family members, and we do what we can to help our parents.
Second, is adulthood. We marry, have and raise children, work, help the Church, and help our aging parents.
Third, is senior years. We help our adult children, and spend valuable time mentoring our grand children. We help the Church.
In all stages of life we are helping either our parents and siblings, or our own family and our aging parents, or our grown children and their siblings.
There is no retirement in the Christian life like the world's view of it. From beginning to end we are helping family. This is service, and this is the only real happy retirement the Lord offers. Anything else is an illusion. The best and most rewarding retirement is to stay in there an help our family all we can.

End Of The World...???

I feel many of you would like the world to end. Most people on Big Church seem to believe the end of the world is near. Because of all the ruckus in the world that is going on, it seems to many that the end is here.
After the many wars, and heartache of the middle ages, including the plague that killed a third of Europe, people must have thought that the end of the world was upon them. Then, they stepped into ships and sailed across the oceans to a new world. They revived the arts, and surpassed anything seen before, and in some ways today. Are we not ready to step into ships that will travel across space to new worlds? Many people feel a new Renaissance is close at hand.
I would ask you to consider that there is plenty of faith on earth. Jesus said something that is very cryptic. When He comes back will He find faith on earth? Today He would find plenty of faith, not the absence of faith. So, why should God end the world when plenty of people still believe in Jesus?
My vision of the future is one of a new and great expansion of the human race. I see a world democratic government arising out of or independent of the United Nations, plenty of food, elimination of most diseases, and an increase in the life span, and unbelievable technology in lieu of todays. I feel our enemies will be no longer human beings, but alien beings. How this alien life fits into the Bible, I don't know. But I do not see where the Bible denies alien life exists. In fact it seems to support it.
You may not believe this, but the human race tends to follow where imagination has gone. Why would God build a universe bigger than our imagination, wooing us, enticing us, pulling us to see and experience it all as much as possible? There is a reason why it is there. Is it not for us to go see? Once we as a human race have grown up enough to manage ourselves, then we are mature enough to go and conquer. Of curse we will blow it up, tear it down, and destroy half of what we find, but that is just our way. Its how we get started with anything it seems.

Pennies To People...Billions To Bankers

It used to be America was king. Its used to be what American wanted America got. People were primary and politicians were secondary. What happened? The people are now ignored. Americans were angry a few months ago, now they are furious.
The Church helped make America great. It can again, but it will take a while. It used to be that America was the leading nation of the world. Now American is one of many nations of the world. Have we been humbled?
What is happening to American is happening also to other nations. The days on the calendar used to pass at a reasonable rate. Now they are dizzy in their passing. The world is not spinning out of control. It is out of control. We are adrift on a restless sea, and no one to rescue.
Yet as always, the Church is a light house. A beacon of hope. The $700 bailout package is just the latest flap, the latest insult to injury. Next week it will be something else, and the following week after that. As I said, the world is out of control. This is why Americans are so past angry to furious. But, really now. Did we ever have control? I thought God was the only one who has control.
Maybe this is a lesson for us. Once again back to basics. God is above, we are below. He has the last word. We have only the first word. We should seek Him always.

Are You A Concierge?

Yesterday I was at the mall, my daughters favorite hang out, and went to the information booth to buy a gift card for her birthday. The name had been changed from information to concierge. I thought how appropriate and how christian, actually.
I am impressed with the concierge at a hotel, mall, hospital, or any where that I can find them. It is a french word pronounced somewhat like it looks, /kän-sē-ˈerzh\.
A person who is a concierge is a multitalented, multilingual invidiviaul who can get things done for you. They know a lot of people and have many resources and connections. They are often found at hotels, sometimes hospitals, and other businesses. It may be reservations at a restaurant, handling your mail, arranging transporation, or just about anything you need done but don't have the time to do. They are often expected to achieve the impossible. This is a professional work and there is a large membership in the "Golden Keys" group, recognized by the golden key worn on the lapel.
The greastest or most respected persons in the friendship circle of Jesus are those who can and do help others the most, the concierge.
When I was in Washington, D.C. a few years ago a concierge, who was helping as a doorman, saved me a lot of money and time by his timely advice and understanding of the city touring services. One of the most important persons to know when you check into a hotel, is the concierge. This person may not be much respected in the world, but is highly respected in the Church.

Paul Newman and his Mitzvah

He is gone. What did he leave behind? What did he take with him? He said he was jewish in his life because it was harder to follow. His dad was jewish. One of many things that the jewish religion taught Mr. Newman was about mitzvahs.
Besides being many commandments of the Torah, a mitzvah is also any act of human kindness. Mr. Newman took with him his record of much acts of human kindness in his giving over $200 million to homes for sick children. All the money from his food business, as dressings, salsa, pasta, called, "Newman's Own" went to charity. This was mitzvah in its best tradition. Giving to the sick and dying is a great mitzvah.
As christians we are to practice mitzvah. The command for this is not written on paper, but on our human heart. How are we doing? Any mitzvah's going to follow you out of this world into the next life experience?
I don't know about you, but I need to do more. Not to earn anything, but to give more expression to my faith. I won't take a record of giving millions to charity, but I don't have too. Its what I do with what can do. The widow gave two mites, said Jesus and that was all her living, and she was recognized as having given more than anyone as she gave everything she had though it was a pitiful penance. The $100 we give might be equal or more to a billion someone else gives.

Becoming Transparent
|

Jesus was transparent unlike any human being who ever lived. Transparency is the property of allowing the transmission of light through a material. As the scripture foretold, a great light would arise in the land of darkness.
Of course, I am talking about spiritual light. How well can people see us inside? How well can we see ourself? Why should we care? Total happiness belongs to those who are totally transparent. In this world we have to guard our transparency, but not before God. When Jesus met with God the Father, he became completely transparent and shown like the sun. This event occurred on the mount of transfiguration.
There are seven steps to becoming a human being who is transparent and whose every act is concern for the well being of the other(s). When a person eats, grows, and reproduces, he is equal to a vegetable. Whoop pee do. When a person does all that and also moves about and has senses of pain and pleasure, etc., he is now equal to an animal. Now we are getting somewhere. But, when a person does all that and also uses his mind to think, and his freedom of will to choose to love or act for the well being of others he has become a human being and transparent. There is no darkness in this person. The spiritual light of God shines through unhindered.
I am for being transparent.

Should The Presidentail Debate Go Ahead?

There is a saying I have not quoted for a long time. It just occurred to me. It goes like this, "the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in a time of great moral crisis maintain their neutrality."
Its obvious our country and actually the world financial markets are in serious trouble. Leadership is a christian and a moral responsibility. It is obvious the effect a President can have on the country for better or for worse. I feel our candidates should be be leading right now if they want to be an elected leader of the free world.
The free world has a moral basis to it. So, our leaders need to have the best morality possible. I will be watching and hoping for this as this election gets closer. This is no time for leaders to be neutral.

Cancer... Go Away

People die of cancer or when the body is unable to regulate its normal cell growth and cell elimination. Last year 7 million died of cancer in the world. In a years time our body replaces and eliminates a number of cells equal to our entire body weight. This is normal. When something interfers with this, a cancer is the result.
Are you smoking? Stop. Smoking causes cancer more than anything else. Reduce meat, and alcohol consumption and increase fresh (not processed) vegetables and fruits. Reduce weight, and increase exercise.
The idea is to keep the body healthy or working well. Our body can take care of itself if we take care of it. Fresh ruits and fresh vegetales are very good at giving our body what it needs to stay healthy. These fresh fruuits and vegetables can be purchases today frozen and just warmed up.
Our body is sacred. Its the residing place of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says our body is wonderfully made. All we can do to help it along is a good practice. WE can beat cancer for a long time. Focus on healthy living. Reduce unhealthy living.
