| only by prayer and fasting...a question for the scholars |

what is it about the combination of prayer and fasting that brings a greater strength to the prayers and actions of sons and daughters of the King?
This is a simple novice question and I'd be interested in an answer.
In the Word it speaks of Christ casting out spirits from a man and when the disciples asked why they were not able to do that the Lord answered that "this kind comes out only with prayer and fasting"...or something to that effect....
Why is fasting a part of making us more effective in spiritual warfare????? | |

"The redeemed sons and daughters of G-d have a right to expect that it is their privilege to pray about what could be disastrous and see it ameliorated in either of two ways:
1. Either through praying that there comes a reduction of the impact of it
2. If it comes with all of its impact, that there be a redemption and healing in the situation"
The preceding is something to think about with the elections drawing near. May the Lord give wisdom to the body of Christ Jesus in choosing a new President for our United States of America.
If we do not choose according to the Biblical Standard we will be dealing with #2 in the preceding comment. | |

for all the smarty pants folks out there....
yes i know that the WORD says pray without ceasing...OF COURSE that goes without saying
however...there are certain times and seasons in the spiritual realm wether you believe and understand such things or not....where prayer can REALLY open doors....
This is the month of Av and on top of that it is 8-8-08.....
Take time today to pray for our nation, the elections, all leadership in our nation, the body of Christ, our amazing military (all volunteer! of which my cousin is one) and any other things that the Lord brings to mind. Within the next few months the entire world swings toward good or evil.
