 With knowledge comes great sorrow. When we are children, we run everywhere and are curious to the core to figure out just what this body, time and place is all about. As we grow larger- the world invariably becomes smaller and smaller. With knowledge of nature, laws natural/ and civil, injustices, and the like- inevitably come fears. Fear that is very real. With Knowledge of G-d, my world became less real. Less inviting. I found- we can even stumble over clouds of good intention. Relationships. Decisions. Friends. Look what happens here on the blogs. All the biting, and bickering. Why? Fear. Fear of something. Un-acceptance? Tarnished image? Pride? Fear of irrelevence. Who's ever right? Does earnest conviction make you right? If you are prepared to die for your belief in G-d, does that make you more holy? More righteous? What about intelligence? Or ability to express yourself fancifully? Does that make you more correct and justified in your belief? No. I have not heard of people in this day and age, so wholly convicted to belief in their belief, as these certain- homicide bombers. So convicted to do evil- out of what they deem righteousness. Out of what seemingly whole nations might deem righteousness. How do we know THEY are not righteous? Because they do not Love their neighbor. What is the greater sin, the slaying of a body or a soul's light for G-d? Every time we attempt to assess, and judge the conviction and beliefs of other Christian believers without offering a warm and loving hand; we in doing so, steal away a bit of their ember- inside. That ember for G-d and Christ. Who will be there to fan the flame, in wake of this? Anyone? Will one make of his brother or sister- a spiritual widow. Perhaps that ember will die out- as it was just smoldering and holding fast to what little truth it had to burn from. Perhaps it will pluck through and topple what little fabric remained, of an otherwise broken heart. Who will pay the heavier price? The little one given little, and having lost; or the one who thinks himself great- and snatches what little -that little one had to start with? To some a mite is great. To another, 30 shekels is always the right price. I tell you knowledge is sorrow. And yet, His people, die from lack of it. Those with a spiritual mite are often prey to those with 30 spiritual shekels. But those who think they have much- thinking they have 30 shekels- have NOTHING, if not Love. They cannot have Love- if they do not offer a hand to raise those they've spiritually brow beaten and stolen from. And those with Love, that is to say G-d, see it...and it breaks their hearts fully. Such goes one tale of the knowledge of good and evil upon these our blogs. In true Knowledge there is a fear of G-d. In G-d there is Love. In Knowledge and Love there is inevitable sorrow. Amen! Bravo my son.....you have incredible wisdom and the words you have spoken here are amazing! The self-righteous blah blah makes me wonder at the relationship between man and God. "Love your neighbour, as yourself". I wonder if those who find it so hard to love others...really love themselves? . God is a righteous God and a jealous God, vengeance is His. If we are obedient, we will love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. We will love our neighbor as ourselves. We will not condone evil and sin, calling it good and acceptable, less we offend someone by our judgment, will we? We must embrace all. Even the wolves among us? For this is love. Know? Yes? ? . . Continue to be faithful, deliverance is near, obedience must be seen, be an unconditional blessing as He continues to bless you. This time is short, serve Him well, serving all. Without exception. Know? Yes? ? .

Last night I really struggled. I felt I should try to create a blog of my own to share what I felt, but alas found I lack the skills still to do this! But today, I have seen this post and feel this would be an appropriate place to comment given the message of the post. I have only been a bigchurch member for a few months. I have never used any sort of site like this before. And slowly and steadily I am making some lovely friends. I only discovered the new world of blogging some 5 weeks ago. I have to be completely honest here.......the level of infighting and the cruel things I've seen said have left me open-mouthed. I can see that you have all done your best to clear the air and forgive each other which is tremendous. But, what I'm trying to say is, as a newcomer (even though I'm mature in the faith too) I found it sometimes distressing to read and felt quite hurt and upset. I even had, as a newcomer, a couple of people email me who were just simply distressed. I wondered, whether it might be the better idea to just switch off my profile and not bother to try any more, but I have, as I said, made some lovely friends now. If I have felt like this - how would a new Christian or non-Christian stumbling across the site feel? There are also we new members trying to find our feet. Please stop tearing each other down - build each other up instead, in love. Thank you Sabrefire for your love and wisdom. Pat.

Excellent post! I have been fortunate that I have not seen any infights recently. I am not here as much, true. Perhaps I am just not seeing it and that is ok with me. I have seen much in the past though. If we are to be the standard of the Lord, we can only respond one way to all G-d's children no matter how they treat us. There are so many troubled people about-Christian or not-and I think many have grown up in cultures of conflict, which they cannot put down. The bottom line here is love, and you have expressed it beautifully. I'm glad you're here. From one bride to another, God keep you, bless you, increase you, Rhonda

Hey sabre, As usual a very deep and thought provoking post!! As Christians we are to build up one another in love. The very character trait that identifies us as followers of Jesus. I so agree Sabre, I find it difficult in these days where brother turns against sister, the earth trembles and the sun was blood red in the sky one evening. I so believe in the attributes of Jesus too, for what I perceive He is about is: Mercy, Compassion, Grace & Love. Its hard when there is bickering and fighting and I see no good thing come from it. I dont think any one of us has all the answers but in unity we all do, different cultures and beliefs must surely have come from the same source. Let us find the fragments of truth and hold fast to those. Luv is patient, kind, unselfish, hopes 4 the best...

Amen! Bravo my son.....you have incredible wisdom and the words you have spoken here are amazing! The self-righteous blah blah makes me wonder at the relationship between man and God. Excellent post. Very well documented without taking sides. Yes it is true, there is just too much bickering in this site, over who's right, who's wrong. And then, some in order to get others on their side, take the pains to post a whole Blog about the other, either in a direct or indirect way. Just last week I was on another non-christian site, amigos.com, where I came across with another Blogger from this site. We both expressed how tired we are of reading too much of "this stuff" on a site, where as disciples of Jesus, we are commanded to love one another just as He loved us. Really sad to say that not much love is being demonstrated. Shalom, my friend! Joshua

I have railed against the religious wars of supremacy since my very first blog, so I agree with your premise. I also agree that knowledge brings sorrow, but, usually when one feels he/she has enough knowledge and stops acquiring it. Just as our needs change from diapers to underwear to Depends, our needs change as we grow emotionally and spiritually. I believe we need to allow our spiritual growth to develop and grow just as our physical and emotional needs grow and change throughout our lives. This is difficult, if not impossible, to accomplish if we become locked into a mindset impervious to introspection. Good blog. Belief in God represents a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints
