WHO WANTS A MIRACLE TODAY???
sabrefire45

I think it's a grand philosophical/religiosity problem- of not only our society- but perhaps part of the human condition... that we ask G-d why don't we see more miracles. I feel that we too often look for fantastical or "magical" miracles; while overlooking what is supposed to be a tenant of our faith... and that is that all of creation is a miracle- created by Our G-d.
Each day I wake up is a miracle.
The fact that I am a sentient being is a miracle beyond comprehension.

My love, your love, G-d's Love, is a miracle.

All the "laws of science" are miracles; as they must be G-d's laws also (as Creator). It's easy sometimes to fall into the mindset that a miracle is G-d contending with nature and defeating it by intervention. But, G-d doesn't contend with nature- He creates and upholds it, and utilizes it. It is His- just as we- who are His Children are His.
And there is a Divine Purpose to this plan.
I see "nature" is as a veil that covers G-d, and it is up to us to seek beyond the veil- but we cannot fully take it away.
If anyone were to have "faith of a mustard seed," and believe G-d created everything... nothing is "natural" but supernatural and thus a miracle.
So if you want a miracle today, just step outside, take in a deep breath and thank the Lord: for everything you see, smell touch and hear today is a MIRACLE.
Even your every breath.

GBY friends,
Sabrefire

Hi sabrefire!

Thank you for this awesome post! So often we get so wrapped up in the busyness of everday, that we fail to recognize the miraculous.
Thanks for the reminder! God's continued annointing!

People get tired of me raving about how beautiful the Florida sky is...especially the cloud formations on summer evenings. I often stop my rollerblading, and stand by the side of the road staring upward, just thanking God for the sheer beauty of it all. And people pass right by, every day, without a second glance.

I heard once that thanking God everyday for creation itself, for the wonder of it, should be a staple in our prayer life. I agree...just the fact that we are here is Gods miracle. GBY -G

I can remember a point in my life where I kept praying, "show me a miracle, Lord!!!" and then the answer came so clear to me one day after praying it time and time again. That answer was, "Pay attention, FOCUS!!" It was such a revelation!

Thanks for your reminder that God is all around us if we just pay attention and that miracles happen everyday to people who are focused on Him.

This is so true. Thanks for the reminder. I was driving home last weekend and just listening to some awesome music, asking for comfort from God for some yuckiness in my life when I came over a hill and saw the most amazing sunset I have ever seen in my life. It was beyond describable. I just started crying. He gives us miracles everyday, and we don't see. We don't see.

Thank you Sabre,
You can't visit the miracles of created beauty in our state(Washington)without realizing what you have so eloquently said here.
I never tire of these things. They are as a mere shadow of the realities of the paradise of God.
Peace to you.

I agree with you Sabre, also with JustHisForever. It isn't just FL, of course, that's what that saying means to stop and smell the roses. You can go outside on any given day and witness awe inspiring beauty. From the stormiest, windiest most powerful day to the calmest most serene lazy day. I constantly admire those midwest skies. The big fluffy, puffy cotton candy clouds and the baby or cornwall? blue. I tell you, you have not seen a blue sky until you visit Washington state. Also, green is REALLY green up there. That's why I enjoy cycling, I get time to appreciate it stroke by stroke. What a wonderful post to start the weekend on. Thanks!

Hiya Karen, it is rather ironic, at least to me- that the more mature we get in the Lord the more we are compelled to give thanks for the 'simple' things. With worldly things it seems quite the opposite.
Indeed I think you're most correct...we just need to focus.

So true...you have talked about this before in a different way...but everything around us is so amazing and so God...He is in everything!

Side note...ya know...it's kinda funny that you were talking about this because I truly believe that we haven't even begun to see the power and miraculous things that God is going to do in and through the church...lame walk, blind see and on and on. I was asking God about that the other day and this is what He spoke to my spirit...
Whenever someone is saved...the lame walk...the dead are raised and the blind are given sight! God is amazing!

Hi Paula yes absolutely! It's strange to me that sometimes I think people get the impression that I am too conservative/orthodox when I write about this stuff and I'm not out looking for the "bigger miracles." But, what is behind someones thinking that the bigger miracles are when people's bodies are healed? To me that's kinda putting the cart before the horse. The Bigger miracle is when a person's soul and spirit is reconciled with the Creator and away from the world.
A healing of the body is temporary...one of the soul and spirit can be eternal. Which one is the greater miracle?

Ok Paula I stumbled across this again in my reading today.
Luke 5:22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?
Luke 5:23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

It makes me think of the two men that were crucifed with Christ that day. The one criminal insulted Christ, and asked "if you are the Christ save us (our lives) and yourself!" The other criminal rebuked the man for saying this and asked Christ to remember him when He enters His Kingdom. One difference between the two was that one asked for his flesh life to be saved...the other showed faith in the power of Christ and the spiritual element.
And Christ said to this man..."on THIS DAY you will be with me in Paradise."

Hey Brother~ Thanks... think about how much of a miracle it is that our Saviour came and was slain 2000 yrs ago and yet today we still go about blessing our brothers and sisters in His name. And giving thanks to all good things in His name. Living and dying in His name. Someone we have not even seen with our flesh eyes. Loving Him still...

Man...could we go on about this one...LOL!!
First...the scripture about the thieves is one of me favorites. It is also a great illustration for people who have a hard time with their past and believing God can forgive them...the criminal hadn't spent one day of his life serving God and he went to heaven immediately...sooooo awesome and powerful...not by works!!
I agree with you 100%. thank you for sharing that scripture with me...the ultimate miracle is salvation.
Also though...Jesus did heal the man who was paralyzed as a sign to the Pharisees and I do believe that in our salvation we do have authority to lay hands on people and that we will see signs and wonders.Jesus said...

Matthew 10-8: 7And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Mark 16:17-18:

17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

I just don't believe we should necessarily be consumed with seeking this...the ultimate sign...like you said, is salvation...I do believe however, that Jesus did those things for people to see that He is God.
Thanks and if you have more...I am open to hear what god speaks to your heart.

Yes Paula I agree. Most certainly He can and does heal the body. Elijah way back in Olden days, through the Spirit, raised the dead as well. As did Elisha. But no one before the Christ had the authority and power to forgive sins; and thus heal the spirit and soul unto salvation.

I think, especially in these end times that we must be extra careful and vigilant in leaning not too much on magical "miracles" we see with our eyes. Deceptions will abound as does lying (false) signs and wonders...many are contrived to line someones pockets... and beautiful hearted yet naive people get caught up into something they ought not.

In the very last days someone else will show forth great wonders. If any man shall say to you, "Lo, here is Christ," or, "There!," believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. (Matt. 24:23-25)

This is why it's said an adulterous generation seeks after a sign. (Mt16:4)Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, "Master, we would see a sign from thee." But He answered and said unto them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign. But there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah." (Matt. 12:38-39)

Christ gave the sign of Jonah.
As will the two witnesses in the end.
As long as I remember my inheritance is in the kingdom above and not here on earth...and salvation is the miracle most sought...
then to die is gain.

Very good stuff...I agree no one has the authority to heal the soul or forgive sins but Christ alone...on the other hand...I know that Christ said that we have the keys to the kingdom and have authority to cast out demons and such in His name.
One way or another...we have more power in Christ than we truly understand, but we shouldn't follow signs and wonders we should take authority and pray for people and have faith that God alone will work if we come into agreement with His perfect will...pray His word...it is His perfect prayer and will.

My week is great so far...thanks...be blessed!
