Dear Acquaintance In Paradise

This is a poem I wrote while in paradise...

Acquaintance in Paradise,
soul so tender and sweet,
your eyes so captivating and bright,
shine like diamonds with unending light.
Your fine curly locks more precious than silk,
flowing so gently without any guilt;
for these are the things my heart has been spilt.

Acquaintance in paradise,
soul so tender and sweet,
smile so radiant one could never grow cold,
and a laugh so contagious that will never grow old.
Your presence so powerful, subtle and bold-
can release a 1 ton burden... 10 fold,
for all these reasons I am sold.

Dear Acquaintance in Paradise,
so brilliant and aware-
mind so quick and right,
I'm in awe of your intentions, and intrigued by your insight.
Your charm is thicker than any,
consider this a blessing never acquired by many.
For all these reasons my acquaintance in paradise,
I cannot be sorry.

Have you visted the Third Heaven? The one Paul was caught up to? Wonderful images! It will be beyond even what we can imagine. Peace brother.

Let your gentleness be evident to all. Philippians 4:5

Lol, no brother. But I vacationed over Christmas on an a certain Island in the tropics for several years. I consider it a little slice of heaven.

One of my favorite songs...
Lyrics:
Hodu L'Adonai ki tov, ki l'olam chasdo!
Hodu leylohey ha'Elohim, ki l'olam chasdo!
Hodu L'Adonai ki tov, (hodu l'Adonai ha'adonim)
Ki l'olam chasdo! (l'osey nifla-ot)
Hodu L'Adonai ki tov, (g'dolot l'vado)
Ki l'olam chasdo!

L'osey hashamayim bit'vuna,
L'roka' ha'aretz al hamayim
Hodu ladonai ki tov, ki l'olam chasdo!

Translation:
Give thanks to G-d, who is good -
For the Eternal shows love to our people
Praise G-d above all others
By whose hand marvels are wrought
Who in wisdom created the heavens
Who stretched forth the earth and the waters[/COLOR

Wow, that must be an amazing place to bring you such joy and inspiration. For me it's the mountains, the Swiss Alps, Colorado, the grand Canyon and even parts of the Arizona dessert at sunset can be completely captivating and breath-taking... very rejuvinating!

It's places like this where you can really see the finger prints of God and the majesty of His creation. Places like this always seem to inspire this type of awe in me. I can only imagine what your little Island paradise must really be like for you- thanks for the nice imagery- almost like a little mini-vacation! GBU-SF!

Thanks Sky...I definately need to see the Swiss Alps again before I go. It's amazing how different scapes can inspire us in such varying ways. But I'm blessed to be from Michigan it's a beautiful state with all it's fresh water... and Great Lakes.

I "hear" what you are saying. Enough said. Beautiful as a blessing to bring a smile when we think upon it each time.

When I went over-seas many years ago I saw so many beautiful and interesting things... but Switzerland and the Swiss Alps were by far the most breathtaking. I lived in Texas all my life so mountains were something I had never seen before... first time I ever put on a pair of skies as well!

It was an awesome treat for my first glimpse of all magnificence to be there on a road headed into the Swiss Alps! I have vowed someday to go back, and get a Eurorail Pass to see and experience all I could once again- next time I would also like to visit Scotland and Ireland as well.

Wow. The monarch butterfly. I remember using to take the caterpillar from the trees...those cotton...I forget the name
Anyway, I had an old shoebox and I had some plastic wire mesh and I'd get those caterpillars and make sure they had plenty of those fresh leaves to eat. After about a week they will climb up to the mesh that is covering the box and then they hang upside down and they'd "unzip" their skin and it falls off and just the green cocoon remains. I LOVE the color of gold on the top part of the cocoon.
Those caterpillars are so smooth because of the plant they feed off. And they grow FAST. I've had the small tiny tiny ones grow up REALLY fast. It's amazing.
Anyway, the cocoon turns black and you can start seeing the butterfly in there.
Then it comes up and hangs there and gains strength and then it flies off. It's beautiful.

A biology teacher in secondary school did that in class once and it was from him that I'd learned a bit about those butterflies and I also started to pick some to see them grow and turn into butterflies. Now that I know of them I always feel anger when people just take down trees or those trees that the butterfly feeds on. I want to own some land and I'd just plant it. Like a garden. With plenty of trees for all kinds of birds and butterflies to live in and eat from. It's just sad. Education is a good thing. If I had never seen and learned from that biology teacher, those butterflies would have just been another butterfly to me.

It must have been beautiful (your time in the Caribbean)to make you write this. It's beautiful.

Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.(Psalm 150:6)

Well that's just adorable.
Yeah we get them to fly all the way up here from central America. I've been way offshore on a boat in Lake Michigan land hardly in sight and have seen them flitting over the water.
I heard and read about their ecology problems a few years ago and I know it is quite sad.
But, hey you're the first one to make the connection, about the Monarch and the post, here. So hat's off to you.
And yes, very beautiful, indeed.
