Thoughts On My Failure Today...
sabrefire45
4/28/2008 7:47 pm

Recently on my blog, we've been discussing G-d in the stars, G-d in natures creatures; the G-d within, and the G-d without, etc, etc. Today however, I was painfully reacquainted with that seemingly far less romantic, and gallant dwelling that G-d also presides over- our failure.
7:45AM brought that most dreaded of student past-times Final Exams! Where in one brief hour or two, the fruits of weeks of anxiety, sleepless nights, and diligence (or lack thereof) are put upon the scales and weighed. By 7:55AM this morning I knew that something was amiss, and I was found wanting.
Failure for me, is not something that I enjoy talking about.
But, failure for us is as much a part of our lives as victory is. It's as tangible a thing as joy, and as real as the earth beneath us.
We learn from Psalms 125:2 "As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about His people from henceforth even for ever."
Just as the mountains around Jerusalem are of the same dust that Jerusalem sits on; We likewise, who are His People, are an integral part of-Him. For man was made in the image of G-d and also of the dust.
And no more did the mountains flee and forsake Jerusalem in the days of her trouble, than will the Lord abandon us when we fail. And sometimes it's in our lowliness that we are truly able to see the mountains around us.

Ditto to Michael's question too... was wondering the same...

Failure is very real ...many a times we do not want it, we do not want to face it...however it does come upon some ...at times due to our own fault or mistakes ...at times due to circumstances...
My eldest boy took 7yrs to complete his 4yrs course in Mechanical engineering...it was a very trying time for both of us(mom is included )at our church overall the people are quite affluent and professional in their careers...and here is someone who is not doing as well....he's told me he does know the meaning of failure compared to others...and what God's purposes are and also for his own part in it...yet one can see many a times he's still cheerful enough in the Lord...whatever the reasons he has learnt to come through trusting in the Lord and looking to Him more so...
God bless ....thanks for this post...

Man can make many plans...BUT it is the Lord who will direct his paths....

Hi everyone I write 'G-d' out of reverence and respect. It's just a personal descision that has become second nature. I typically only reserve the full word for quoting scripture. It is done by some people to aviod any unintentional heresy and help prevent confusing readers about personal thoughts about the Word, and the Word itself. It is intended to show that my thoughts are not on the higher plane as G-d's thoughts are...and my thoughts cannot be compared to His thoughts.

Yes, failure teaches a wise person to be more humble. Affluence without humility is in itself failure.

Sorry to hear about your situation.
The scriptures teach that "A righteous man falls seven times, and rises again. Prov.24:16a, I know you'll rise again.

Hang in there brother.

The good news is that our God causes all things to work together for good to those that love Him and are called according to His purpose. Rome 8:28 He's there for us even in our failures and can make it so to where we benefit from it.

Our God is truly an AWESOME God!!

God Bless You!

Grace, like water, always flows downward, to the lowest place. Amazing Grace!!

Even though it hurts and sometimes because it hurts we can learn just as much if not more through our failures and mistakes as we can through our victories. When we try so hard and invest so much into accoplishing a goal and then we fall short of that goal we can't help but feel like we are somehow lacking.

This is just a stepping stone and an opportunity to learn more and do better next time. You lack nothing- God certainly loves you no less and you will do better... Don't beat youself up too much- when we know better we can always do better.

Take some time and rest... "I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living- wait on the Lord be of good courage and He shall strengthen thine heart, wait I say on the Lord" - you are in my prayers.

God's love reaches all- growing means thinking outside the box... love one another

I know this isn't the main thrust of this thread of yours but I have a question anyway since I really want my curiousity satisfied...heh/groan:

Do you believe that nature and/or stars and/or creatures and/or humans are God?
If so, who is and what is and why?
If not, why not?

Thanks for the thoughts. Plain and simple I didn't put forth the effort that was required. It was definately a failure to plan. But, in the words of an old dormmate..."I find it impossible to stay disappointed in myself for more than about 20 minutes." At least his humor was good.

What?!? Are you kidding?!? What a strange thing to say. I'm rather appauled at the question, quite frankly.
The tone of your question is most bizzare, and it makes me seriously question your motives.
G-d created everything, nothing was created but by Him.
I find the question itself painful to read, because of the undertones of blasphemies that it eludes to. Enough said...

I was being nice about it.

I was only asking due to your choice of words, and I quote from you:

"we've been discussing G-d in the stars, G-d in natures creatures; the G-d within, and the G-d without"
...this could be taken to mean different things, including the slant I asked you about.
All I want is clarification.
Is that too much to ask?

I take this stuff very seriously.
I don't think there is a truly nice way to ask a faithful man if he is a heretic, which is essentially what you did. The references you quoted- as inquiring about- are topics from my blog, as stated. If you read them you should have had the answer to your question, without eluding to the question of whether or not I was a heretical blasphemer.
It's nothing personal, it's the question itself I find appauling, not you. And no it's not too much to ask, but you should be prepared for a stern answer when inquiring about such serious things.
