2 letters to my unborn niece or nephew:
Dear baby "X", to be named later, I know you're probably pretty confused right now, but there's a world to come after this one you're in. I know that it seems pretty dark, but you are growing eyes and in the world to come there is this thing called light- and I can't really explain it but- you will see. You're mother and father are the best of people and I love them with my whole heart. They will love you and protect you. They will teach you right and wrong. They may scold you sometimes but that's only because they love you. We'll be a close family and have a lot of fun together. It's going to be a long trip but you'll get here soon enough. I can't wait to see you. Love ya and Godspeed. Uncle Mike
Dear 13 year old "X": I know you're probably pretty confused right now, but there's a world to come after this one you're in. I know that it seems pretty dark, but you are growing spiritually and in the world to come there is a Heavenly Father and He is Light- and I can't totally explain it but- you will see Him someday. Your Heavenly Father is the best and I love Him with my whole heart. He will love you and protect you. He will teach you right and wrong. He may scold you sometimes but that's only because He Love's you. We're a close family and have a lot of fun together. It's going to be a long trip but you'll get up there with Him. He can't wait to see you. Love ya and Godspeed. Uncle Mike

That little one is going to be blessed and lucky to have you as an uncle in their life... it's also good practice for when you have your own little ones... that's going to be the toughest job you will ever love. You have such a good heart- I hope in that respect you never ever change- always keep your heart and your mind open to God's love... GBY Sabrefire!

Awww. Thanks. I was talking it over with my mother the other day, and then I asked her who of her three kids are going to be the most strict as a parent...she didn't even hesitate, and pointed right at me in an accusatory way. Some kids just can't get a break. LOL. I don't have kids, a wife, a girlfriend, or even a glimmer in my eye...but I feel I already love them. I have my sons name picked out. And I'm pretty sure that if I am someday blessed with a daughter, my hair will go grey over night. LOL. GB,sabrefire

You strict?... I'm just kidding- you have to give kids plenty of good, firm guidance and boundaries. As long as you do your best to balance it out with love and respect and plenty of communication then you are on the right track... I'm sure you will do just fine and be a really great Dad!

Hey thanks a lot friend. It's such a strange feeling for me. I think it's because my sister and I were always so close. We're only seperated by 19months. Everyone thought we were twins growning up. When my older brother had a daughter a few years ago that was one thing...this is uncharted territory. GBY and your 2 nieces and 1 nephew, and your whole family, sabrefire

Welcome to the world, little one! It's your first day of an exciting journey, beginning this October 14, 2008. Your Uncle Mike has eagerly anticipated your arrival and asked us to join in welcoming you. I join in the joyous prayers of those here on earth and in heaven. May His hand be upon you from this day forward...as you grow may you come to know of His unending love for you and may His favor be upon you. Live every day of your life for Him. For now, you need your sleep...and I am sure you are aware of His angels around you, singing a heavenly lullaby.

Congratulations with your new nephew.
Must feel like it's your son. I mean, since you and your sister were so close, it must somehow feel almost as though it was you who had a son.
I pray his life will glorify the Lord and that he will grow up to love the Lord with all his heart, mind and strength.
How is your sister doing?

Greetings to you Jackson in the wonderful name of our Lord. I'm praying for you. Though you are young and very small at this point, God has placed you in a very good and loving family. Soon you will grow in both stature and wisdom as those in your family bless you with the gifts they have been given. I am privileged to be acquainted with your uncle and can say that he is a man of great character and wisdom. God has truly blessed him with a gift in relating powerful truths, creatively expressed through the written word. You would do well to spend much time with him precious young one for you would truly be blessed as we who know him are blessed. So now young Jackson; May the LORD bless you and keep you; May the LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:23-27
Congratulations sabre, Wisdom, Strength, and Honor Be unto You, Your Nephew, and Your Family! God Bless You Brother!!

Congrats Uncle Mike!!!
Blessings on the new baby angel in your family! My first born son (who is now 19 ) was only 5lbs when he was born and its hard to imagine ever being that small. Take pictures of him next to objects, your hand, a stuffed toy, a shoe, something to really show that little baby how tiny he actually was when he was born. They do grow fast, the time flies.
What a nice strong name. Welcome Jackson Robert, Welcome, Welcome to the world!!
God Bless your Sister and Brother-in-law on this beautiful day of all days!!! Babies are such miracles sent from heaven!

Lol...like nothing had happened...so yeah I guess we're kinda close! My sister is doing fantastic! She's tough too...she's a marathon runner...so, yeah she's just fine! GBY and thanks Sister!

Awesome comment Brother! I really appreciate it! He's going to be blessed with two of the greatest parents a kid could ask for! Mom's going to be a push-over but in a good way! Very moral though! And daddy's a cop. Cop of the year- last year in Lansing actually, and a great buddy of mine since the early college days!! And both are still really fun! They've been married for over four years so grandma's bouncing off the walls!! Thank you brother again awesome comment friend! GBY Sir!!!

He's got so many gifts already! It's kinda weird he kinda "chatters." It's like he's trying to talk, it's not crying by any means...I guess when he got taken home today my sisters beagle was mesmerized by the little chattering sounds he makes. It's adorable. GBY!
