Greetings,
As I have seen Fieldlilies tackle the perfume and cologne mystery, it made wonder about something I had changed in my life many years ago. Since one of the body's natural defenses to combat toxins is to sweat them out, I am curious. How many people use anti-perspirants?
I use the maximum strenght possible.
Just the regular kind
Only deodorant for me
I don't know what sweat is, so I have no idea what this is about..

Everyone sweats, its part of the human body. But to stink of B.O is another. Where I work, it is all glass and its like a giant fish bowl.. hehehe, the air con does work then it doesnt work. THere are a few people that stink.. I can't have them by me cos it takes my breath away.

In this day and age, there is NO need for smelly bodies.

I agree with FRAZ no need to smell. A little soap, water, and deodarant sure goes a long way to fight body odor.

Where's 'Other'? For every day stuff I use only deodorant. When I know I will be perspiring a lot, like when I go dancing, I use maximum strength anti-persperant/deodorant. Sweating is normal. Stinking is bad!

Now, how does one tactfully inform a dance partner/work mate that they need a bit of anti BO treatment???

Blech - nothing worse than a stinky, wet person UNLESS one is engaged in activities that generate it - hiking, manual labor, etc. And even then, there's no reason to smell. Then a shower as fast as possible afterwards please.

Greetings Fraz,
I know how you voted, cause I am the other one that voted... I was hoping to get someone that cast the vote you did, so I could bring up a point about our natural bodies. I imagine many will vote the way you did, and this bothers me from a health point of view.

Ok, here it is.....If we, humans, block our sweat glands with such things as metals, like, oxidized titanium, or, white rust (reminds me of painters lead white, which is toxic), then how can the toxins leave our bodies? Would they not accumulate under our skin, in the pit of the arm, and be kept inside our bodies, so close to our heart and lungs? Humans sweat in more places then the arm pit, but we don't go putting anti-perspirant on our whole body. What causes the bad odor, is the bacterial that attacks the sweaty toxins.. Would it be healthier to allow this natural defense to occur? If it is the odor that bothers, would it not be better to mask it with a deodorant only, and still allow the body to do its job? I hope you, and all that may read this, think about the health issue here. I use to use anti-perspirants, but stopped over 12 years ago, and have found myself feeling healthier ever since. Not to mention, but I will, the clean feeling of my, pits, after I wash them, instead of that, "Why doesn't this area feel clean after I just used soap and water" feeling I use to get, from all the anti-perspirant still clinging to my skin...

Greetings Paws,
I agree with you agreeing with Fraz too. There is no need to smell, but, there is a need to sweat. It's natural, and there are natural deodorants that mask the odor. My must stop the BO, before it stinks the place up!!

Greetings Fields,
Yes, I can understand using an anti when an occasion may require ones activities, where a, wetness, may not look attractive. But, excessive daily use over time, will cause pore blockage, which may lead to heath problems. Glad you choose wisely...

Greetings R&R,
I must tell you, there is nothing like coming home from working, just a stinking, knowing I put a good day in, and then the, "Oh what a feeling", after the refreshing shower...It's funny, but even till this day, I don't understand why people shower in the morning, to go get dirty all day, since I was military trained, that before you hit the rack to sleep, you must shower, so as not to sleep in filth. Am I the only one who wakes clean in the morning? I don't think so.. I guess some one should post a poll, as to, "when do you shower?", but it won't be me to post it, though I might post one asking how many bubble baths does one take a year...

Hi JC,

I'm with you, I don't wear anti-perspirant, why try to stop sweating, it's a natural bodily function. It is excreted from many areas, gonna use anti-perspirant everywhere? We should allow our body to act as it was created to act.
Just my opinion, God bless you!

That's too personal a question for me to answer. Suffice it to say I use what I need, and Coco Chanel picks up the rest of the slack for me. Except in the winter, when Dolce & Gabanna earn their keep.

Greeting once again Racefan,
I am so glad we agree.. I have seen over the posts, you are a sensible woman, ah, not a sent-abel (away) woe-man, but one that can see simple things of the Word.. Maybe, when His Kingdom comes here, we might bump into each other, as we play in His sand box...

Greetings Fields,
Sorry I forgot to answer your question...

Why don't you do as we did in the military, to one that will not conform to the, "you stink", party, and throw a, "blanket party"???

That's when you just go up to the person in question, wrap them inside a blanket, tie it up, throw them in the shower, and then, spare not the rod, to not spoil the child, till they understand..Water is cheap, so leave it run and run....Even Christ says the water from the well is free for those who are thirsty..

I agree with those of you that said in this day and age there is no good reason to tolerate BO on oneself, and we certainly don't like smelling if off others! And yes, we ought to be very careful about what we put on our bodies affects out health.

I think we need 2 more questions addressed:

1) when do people shower, and
2)how do you tell someone they got BO without hurting their feelings.

Is it even possible to do the latter?

Greetings Precious,
O.K., you start the thread about when people get a shower, I'm not touching that one... As far as telling some one that has BO in a nice way, may be we can say some thing like, "Gee you smell great, what kind of cologne/perfume are you wearing, eue de pepe la pew?"
