I don't have any set reason to eat out. But it is very infrequent. Sometimes we do the Sunday dinner out after church, but rarely. We usually go out for birthdays in my family. I use to go out to eat dating....but, ha, those days are so long behind me I don't even recall them anymore.

Oh come on! I'm not the only daily diner here.

Cooking for one...
is just no fun!

(Not to mention the cleaning.)

I eat out....almost once a day. Not that I don't like to cook....oh well, its just that its no fun cooking for yourself all the time. But then, its not fun too...having to eat out alone...whether inside or out... But, with the workload that I got,its impossible to whip up anything in the kitchen in such a short time.

I've eaten out once last year (2007) and before that it's been about three years. Prior to working for myself at home, I used to eat out twice a day (breakfast and lunch) and also if my boss or a fella invited me out for dinner. Now I cook for myself and others who've fallen in love with my cooking!! But I do love to cook....although, it can get expensive sometimes when I get a little adventurous in wanting to try exotic dishes!!

Usually when I have my once a month date with my wife or whenever I want to make my daughters feel extra special.

No, not in outer space, but lately feel like the North Pole with our temps being below zero most of the last two weeks.

It is such a drag to cook for just me, and takes soooo long, so I don't.
Which will make me much more appreacitive of the home cooking of whatever lucky middle-aged lady I end up with.

Hi Tir

to answer your question... lately not so much visiting restaurants..
but being a vegetarian and liking international foods I actually
do enjoy going out sometimes but its also about being a cool cat
dressing up and stuff and it does give you variety of taste
and I do think it would take me ages to learn to cook for example Indian... its just a lot of spices and secret techniques hard to learn from a book over night... and did not learn that growing up everything was Euro bland... but did like to eat over at my Indian girlfriend's house for example with the green and the red sauce....
yoghurt too! because it can get hot and I do not eat meat but they had lots of good vegetarian entrees that tasted like homecooked to me well almost... nothing like your own really ever...
I prefer their buffet over menu the most because there is also Salad! so you fix your plate exactly the way you like it...

Going out can be nice for an occasion I think, its kind of special

I would not go to fast food places over preparing food at home unless on a trip and there are always more healthy choices than others in all restaurants so I would take those even while travelling etc. but if you pick a healthy restaurant its very NICE
and when you are starving... all foods are better than none... for a second just to live, however: long range... its important to eat wholesome! and this is just easier to prepare at home so you know what goes into your food... I have to be honest though I love going out in style something about the AMBIANCE ... as long as you have the budget for it otherwise that can wait!

It is really nice that in America you can find your taste...and have so many places to choose from and change venues... in Germany its just the only true and tried almost but many times that can be good!
we do have some international cuisine in Germany too so that is nice.

Dani
