I can't overlook all the anti-Catholic blogs....it greatly saddens me and breaks my heart to see and read all the attacks upon my faith. I realize everyone has the right to choose their own religion and are entitled to their opinions, but I can no longer stay here at BC with the more recent anti-Pope and anti-Catholic statements and so I say God bless and farewell to all! |

wow , this is sad , some many good ppl are leaving bc , why do so many have to say and do hurtful things.I never blog , but I read most of the ones I can get in, I enjoy watching the fun stuff. Lisa, I was raised Catholic and only started to go to Assembly of God 3-1/2 years ago. My children still go to CCD. My daughter on Tuesday and she attends Church on Sunday with me at AG and my son goes on Sunday and he is an alter server and then goes to CCD. His father or my mother takes him there. They both go to small group/youth group at AG and then my son goes to youth group with his Catholic friends on Friday. We are still in between and I am raising them with both and when they get older they can chose. They like both and take away different things from both. BTW, THE AG is made up mostly of ex-Catholics so I feel like I am home there. I am happier and I am allowed to go deeper in faith at my new church. I, too, get deeply offended as those are my roots and still hold my heart. I still love the Saints, not to the same level as I held them though. Rosary beads still hang from my car. They and holy water are still sacred to me. I can't let go of my roots, but I needed more. Needed to go deeper than the Catholic Church allowed me. It hurts when I see that talk, so I don't read them. Please stay. I would really miss you terribly. Can you ignore them? I remember in the chats crying and getting so upset over what people said about Catholics because that's where I came from. So, I can totally understand with a heavy heart how you feel. I am very sorry Lisa...such is the way of the blogs here at BC. People are "standing in truth" because of course their truth is the only right one. As a cradle Catholic who left in young adulthood, came to Pentacostalism 7 years ago..and was just brought back to the Catholic Church....I say, don't let those you speak of make your decision for you. I bet none of them realized you were Catholic...they just assumed you were as they are. That is a serious problem here...very serious. Anyway I hope you stay. Lisa, don't go If you leave, they win.....I haven't read any of the material that has been written condemning Catholics. True Christianity is not "anti" anything. If you study Scripture you will see that any "anti" attitude is characteristic of the Pharisees. I count as a friend a charismatic priest, who not only allowed me to participate in a wedding between one of the young men in his church with a young woman in mine, but also allowed that to happen in the Catholic church. And yes, our two churches met together to celebrate communion. You reflect more of God's nature than those who condemn you Eph 2:10 We are his workmanship (poiema, or poem, or work of art) created in Christ Jesus. God is an artist and you are His masterpiece!

Ok, if BC was a Magazine/Newspaper, the Blog posts are the articles, ads, filler pages AND Lisa's posts are the Entertainment section. The best part of the Magazine/Newspaper. Oh,Lisa don't go you are much loved here and much needed.If I said anything to offend you,I am sorry.I don't personally believe in the Pope as the sole authority here on earth but that is my perogative just as it is for others to believe what they want to. But I do believe Catholics are Christian.I was raised in the Catholic faith and that is where I first learned of God through His gospel message. Although I don't believe in Ellen White's teachings either I still believe Claudia is a Christian,as we all believe in Christ and His redemptive work on the cross who saves sinners just like me and you and ALL who believe in Him.

Lisa, First of all I want to say how sorry I am that you have been hurt and upset, it also makes me sad. I totally agree with the other comments hoping you can look past the ugly side of BC blogland and consider staying. It is very difficult to visit here and see & hear the things that seem contrary to true Christianity.... However consider this.....we are the salt of the earth and the light to a dead and dying world. Maybe a little break to seek God and get your focus back will help. I have left 3 times and each time I come back I am stronger. I have been here for over 2 years and it has been very ugly several times. My biggest concern is Christians and non-Christians reading things that will lead them in a wrong direction or cause them to fall or stumble. There is a person that I know of personally that has left because of several posts that are like hitting people over the head with their own ideas of God, Christianity and salvation that have caused them to doubt everything. This person is struggling and the ones that may have caused them to fall are walking on dangerous ground. I know my part is to pray for all of them. Lisa I pray that your heart will be healed and you will come to know what it is that God will have you do. They went to Lutheran school K - 8 then Catholic 9-12. They are Christians, they love the Lord. I have certain things about BOTH dominations I go "huh?" about as I was raised Pentecostal! But that is the wonderful variety that makes up this body of Christ. Please don't let a few anti Catholics sway you! Look at all the POSITIVE poss that were THRILLED that the Pope was here and represented Christ!!! Tiny, tiny majority of BC was anti. And all of us that LOVE you are positive!! Lisa, my sweet one, I know you've been here for a while and you have to decide for yourself whether to stay or go. My heart is huge enough to carry you and support your decision. I will protect you if you stay. I will be here to fight your battles for you. I will guard you always. I read your words on Yendor2's blog and it made me think what are people here for, what really is the purpose of their blog. You and others don't need to be here among those who wish to ruin God's Kingdom. There is something unstable about bloggers who find the need to belittle others and tear apart what is God's. Just a final warning, anyone who attacks another religion vehemently as I've seen here then attests God asked them to write it you must bring into mind and heed warning--false prophet. Where was everyone when I was getting ripped to pieces???? A few people came to support me on my own blog, and on the offending blogs .. a couple on my email,and I thank you from the bottom of my hearts for your compassion...but ....where was the public outcry that makes people step back and say ...What is going on here? Does it make a difference when it is someone you consider a friend? Is it okay to defend people from abusiveness one one thing and not another? Doctrine but not another's person dislike? PErsonal asttack but not doctrine? Where is the line drawn? Dennis is not one of my favorite people, but he was right about one thing.....BC blogs is about cliques. Yes, I am very bitter. Lisa is a lovely lady, but to paraphrase...Do I not bleed too? Blanche made an amazing remark ..I hope she doesn't mind that I am sharing it... "Hurting hearts is far more serious and offensive to God than this darn WASHING your hands from the blood that I see going on in this forum..." I am no more perfect than anyone, but I no longer apologize in BC blogs...too many people DO see it as a sign of weakness. And use some discernment people! Look for the serpent in your lair, and beware that the serpent may be spouting what YOU consider perfect doctrine. Men never commit evil so fully.. as.for religious convictions

I'm still giggling over Red's comment "How will I know who I am?" It's so true. I mean, how would I have ever known what kind of ice cream I was!! So cute and so funny. I will be praying as suggested by Terrie (racefan4) and perhaps others as I did not do this when I made the decision to leave. I do appreciate everyone's comments...I do have more to say, but first I've got some thinking and praying to do! Praised be the Lord! Let's the Holy Spirit heal... BB

For some reason I feel like I have started to sit down and some bully pulled the chair out and just dropped me to the floor. I should be used to the hatefulness of some, but this got to me. I would just like to say that I was in no way coming against Catholics. I am coming against the Catholic teachings. I feel that they are two different things. You may not see it that way, however. I am very sorry that you feel that you have to leave over this. I can't say I am sorry for the things I have written, though. I wish you would reconsider your decision. If I make the rest of you folks uncomfortable- So be it. John the Baptist put his head on the block- rather than approve of or wink at evil. If I can't BE like Jesus- I can follow John and do it that way. Raw- LOUD and uncompromising. Serving Jesus until death. And then some.
