Today, i have reflected very much on a topic of conversation that i witnessed in BC last night. I hope i can write sensitively and clearly about why this concerned me.
With jaw dropping horror, i saw a conversation unfold between 2 chatters, the topic was - a woman who had abandoned her baby in a trash can. I appreciate from the outset this case could appear very black and white. This woman was called *sick* amongst other things in chat.
But - maybe things aint so black and white - what if this woman/girl - who evidently went thru labour alone (Mothers - can you imagine that?) She would have been frightened - scared - so alone, petrified even. The emotions of what she possibly could have felt would have been overwhelming.
I had my children in one of the very best British hospitals, surrounded by Midwives, doctors and paeditricians and i was scared - My heart goes out to this woman.
Perhaps she was a teenage mom, perhaps the baby was a result of a rape, perhaps she had no support, perhaps she felt she could not raise baby alone, perhaps she just was not mentally, emotionally ready to be a mum and while i appreciate it was her responsibilty to take precautions - even they are not 100% safe.
It is so easy to sit behind our PC screens in our warm homes and a full tummy but until you have stood in someone elses shoes - its not nice to judge others - and IF that woman was sat in BC last night - just how condemned would she have felt - when during this time - she needs to be loved and accepted and reassured that she is the best person to raise that lil baby.
Who knows why this was allowed to happen ?
But i do know this - Jesus would embrace her and love her - call her his own.
So next time we see something we dont fully understand - lets not be hasty to label people and judge them, condemn then. Jesus had compassion - lets embrace that!!

I really don't care if she was frightened and alone. What kind of "Person" places her child in a trash can? That Really ABHORS me! Perhaps she could be on anti-pregnancy drugs--------This really floors me!
Christians are like Timex watches. We take a lickin', but We keep on tickin'! Steve

P.S. Doesn't Jesus love children from conception to Whatever? I'm thinking God is going to punish this woman and Jesus has already turned His Back! I'm STILL floored!!!!!!!!

Nice Christian attitude there steve, Kinda matches the one that kate is talking about..
Would Jesus sit in condemnation on people? NO! Yet people seem to think its ok for us to do that..
You and others DONT know her personal circumstance and why she did this...
All YOU can do is pray for her.. and while you are doing that, pray for yourself too that your heart will be changed to really match that one of Gods.

Judging the action is wrong, is quite correct, but condemning the person is ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!
We have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.
This person not only needs help in making right decisions for the right reasons, but prayer to transform their life.
There is not excuse for the action taken, but teaching and loving the person so the action is never repeated, is the important thing.
Wrong is never right, nor is it excusable under any condition.
Sin is never right, nor is it excusable under any condition.
Ignorance is never right, nor is it excusable.
We will be held responsible for our actions by a Just God.
This is why this person needs help from and by loving mature Christians where she is.
She needs to be taught and discipled if she is a believer.
If she is not saved, Jesus needs to be presented to her in a loving and if needed, a firm manner.
If we ignore what is wrong, we ignore sin, why do we need Jesus?
We need understanding, forgiveness and the reason not to repeat the wrong and or sin again.

. Without Absolute Truth, there are only lies disguised as truth, if you know not the Absolute Truth and it is NOT within you, you will embrace a relative truth that fits your eternity, that is presently before you.
Continue to be faithful, deliverance is near, obedience must be seen, be an unconditional blessing as He continues to bless you.
This time is short, serve Him well, serving all.
Without exception.
