I was born into a family of BIG drinkers, My parents as long as i have known them have always been alcholics.
I have a sister, who is 4 years older than me.
Even as a small child, i remember big parties in our house, going on pretty much most of the night.
Having alcholic parents - you learn certain things quickly - or suffer the consequences at your peril.
I learned many things very early on. I saw many things that a little girl should never see. I experienced many things a little girl should never have to endure.
The first time i tried to kill myself i was 6 years old - in the bathroom with a razor blade, i watched the blood ooze over my skin and felt such relief - it would all be over soon, then sheer panic hit me - my sister, i couldn't leave her!
I was 11 and at school became aware of an R.E teacher - she was so kind. Kindness i had not been familiar with - she taught me about Jesus. For the next 5 years - she was the only *constant* adult in my life. We prayed the salvation prayer together.
25th May 1986 i was baptised - i invited my parents they did not attend but gave their permission for me to be baptised.

kate, Thats an amazing testimony and what makes you who you are today. I was gobsmaked at your age of 6 trying to commit suicide. Thats tragic and thank God, He heard the cries of your heart and put someone in your path to guide you to Him.
Have known you for a while now, couple of years? And known the very testimony of Jesus changing you and making you the wonderful woman you are today.
Love ya

Thanks for your testimony, sister. I was born into a family of drunks and druggies, so I know some of what you went through. Praise God for sending that teacher across your path.

Kate, my family used to have drinking parties when I was little... I've only been drunk twice in my life. The first time I was 2, the second time I was 4. Suddenly, the drinking parties ended before my sister came to live with us, when I was 5. I believe it stopped because something very bad occured because of one of those parties.... I have no proof of it, and only vague memories.
Your story reminds me to be grateful for all the tragedy and heartache He saved me from by doing this.
Thank you for your testimony. Are your parents still alive or saved? I will be praying for you Kate. I will also pray for your son.

My dad, fed my son when he was 6 months old, brandy from a teaspoon - he couldn't comprehend why i was absolutely livid!
*No proof* - hunny, we have a way of locking things away so they cant hurt us anymore - if you wanna chat more about this - just send me a message.
My parents are indeed still alive - communications with me have been severed tho. Unfortunately, they are not saved and i am not good at praying for them - i struggle with that.
Thank you for your prayers for my son - i appreciate that muchly - he needs a miracle - i am counting on it
God bless you
