Hi Race,
One thing that must always be kept in mind with the end days prophecies is that they are written in symbols. As you know, satan causes many to be blind to the understanding of much of Bible truth and that is why there is so much conjecture about the role the nations will play in the last days
.

The wild beast out of the sea symbolizes the worldwide political system of human rulership, to which system Satan the Devil gave “its power and its throne and great authority.” (Revelation 13:1 - eight) This earth-wide political system has nations that represent it in the present-day United Nations, the international organization that is now the “image” of the wild beast that ascended out of the “sea” of humankind.
Among those national groups that have members in the “image” of the wild beast are the former British Empire (which, since 1931 C.E., has been reorganized as the British Commonwealth of Nations), and the United States of North America. These two English-speaking groups have acted together in world crises, so that the two make up a dual world power, an Anglo-American world power, the Seventh World Power of Bible prophecy.
In a general way this Seventh World Power has worked along with the symbolic wild beast, and has acted as a mouthpiece or prophet for the beastly worldwide political system. For this reason it is pictured in Revelation 13:11-13 as a dragon-mouthed wild beast that ascends out of the “earth” and that has two horns like those of a lamb. Quite properly this two-horned or dual world power has membership in the United Nations of today, for it was this Anglo-American World Power that proposed and put through the making of a political “image” of the “wild beast” that ascended out of the “sea.”—Revelation 13:14, 15.
During the throes of World War I, the then British Prime Minister Lloyd George thought of the formation of a postwar League of Nations to act as an impediment to another world war. America’s wartime president, T. W. Wilson, worked hard to set up the League. Similarly, in the closing months of the second world war, the United States as the other member of the two-horned “wild beast” promoted the formation of a successor to the then defunct League of Nations. In October of 1945 this revised organization for world peace and security emerged as the United Nations. It was, in effect, the same old “image” of the political “wild beast,” but under a new name. It was proposed and put in operation by worldly politicians in defiance of God’s Messianic kingdom
In the light of the foregoing, when Revelation, chapter seventeen, speaks of the scarlet-colored, seven-headed, ten-horned “wild beast,” we should think of the real power that is behind this symbolic “image,” namely, the worldwide political system of government symbolized by the wild beast that ascended out of the sea. The two-horned wild beast that ascended out of the earth, namely, the Anglo-American Dual World Power, is the dominant section of the larger political system pictured by the sea beast. Consequently, after the nations that are members of the symbolic “image” have destroyed religious Babylon the Great, it is the irreligious worldwide system of political government that true Christians will have to confront.
Says Revelation 17:12-14 concerning this war of the ages: “The ten horns that you saw mean ten kings [all earthly political powers], who have not yet [in the apostle John’s day] received a kingdom [by membership in the League of Nations—United Nations], but they do receive authority as kings one hour with the wild beast. These have one thought, and so they give their power and authority to the wild beast [the world organization for peace and security]. These will battle with the Lamb, but, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lamb will conquer them.

So you see, America is mentioned in the end time prophecies but this is such a huge subject that I have only mentioned the small part of it that answers your direct question.

Yours faithfully,
Katidid.

Hi Racefan.
I have read your above post several times now, and I STILL don't get why America should be in the Prophesies and/or playing a key role in the end-times.
I think every country; nation and tribe on earth will have their opportunity to make a difference to this world. Good or bad. And just as Israel in OT did it, we will all fail.
Because only One can make a good change to this world. And He has done it.
"It is finished".

I remember more than 30 year ago, when EU was a union of 10 countries, and therefore some Christians told us EU had a key role in the end-times.
Now there are 28 countries, so ....

I have never heard of a Christian country. I mean a CHRISTIAN country.
When we are dividing between the countries to tell what kind of religion is represented as the main-religion. Then we can talk about "Christian country" or "Muslim Country". AND if we believe in a Country being of a specific religious denomination can save its inhabitants. Then we can talk of countries of a specific denomination.
But that doesn't save anyone.

Here in Denmark many Christians divide between being a Christian from out of what you inherited from your parents or from your culture.
And then being a Christian because you know Jesus and do believe in Him. Being a Born-Again Christian.

The first kind we call culture Christians or religious Christians/religiosity.

I do only know ONE country in the whole world, that has the right to call itself "Gods Country". Israel.
Then there are his chosen people (the Israeli) and the ones who are grafted in.
Us.
The Christians.

From out of some of the writings here at the Blogs, it seems like we have to be Republicans (Conservative) instead of Democrats (Liberals) to be a good Christian. So it seems like my political stand is the basis of my Christian faith.
Not the other way round.

Jesus was very political. He was not part of any specific political party, but he used his influence to change the society and the religious society.
He didn't have any political agenda for getting elected as the next ruler... Maybe because he was/is the King of Kings...
I am a Christian who dare to interfere in matters in my society. Not because of my political stand, but because of my Christian faith and belief. And from out of my Christianity you might be able to define my political stand. Something like conservative; in-the-middle; right wing extremist with a huge socialistic part as well.
As far as I can find out, Ronald Reagan was the first one who - on purpose - used Christianity for promoting his political party; the Republicans. And his agenda was to use this idea of America being a Christian country - Gods own Land - and linked that to the Republican party.
If you take a look at what the former President Ronald Reagan got away with, and how his deeds and decisions made it possible for e.g President Obama to make the decisions that he is doing.
Take a look at it, and if you look closely you will find a path; an evolution, a development that brings you from a to b to c to d. And "d" is what happens today.
I know Ronald Reagan has become some kind of "untouchable" for people in America. Don't say anything evil about him.

I think it is good to know the Bible. To know what it says, and to be willing to live the way we are told in the Bible.
I think it is good to know the Prophesies, and know from out of the Prophesies that this earth; this world STILL is in the hands of God. God is still in charge of what happens, and what is allowed to happen.
In the Prophesies of the end-time, we are told something about what will happen. But we are not told word by word HOW it will happen. I believe in it will happen the way we are shown in the prophesies - but at the same time we have to admit, a LOT of it is written in a way that is like looking through a vail. It's blurred, and we can only study it and TRY to figure out what it means.

Why are we not told and shown EXACTLY what will happen? Instead of using "synonyms" for the countries and the areas and for powers and f....
And when writing it this way, is the intention from God to make us wonder and guess, and tell others that "this has to be Rome; meaning the Catholic Church or the Pope?? Or maybe something ELSE that is DEFINITELY not ourselves... Or the ones we love...?

On these Blogs I have seen written "Freemasons are Protestants"; ""Rome" is the Catholic Church"; "We have to believe the Prophesies of the End-time in a certain way, else we are not real Christians", and a lot of other things that is just rules and regulations made by human mind.
I guess some of the thinking made for understanding the Prophesies of the End-time might come true/be true, but...

Why is Denmark not in the Prophesies?? We could just as well ask that question. Or maybe Luxembourg or Germany or...?

I think one of the answers is we are to guard ourselves. Be alert.
Not my country or my church. All that will disappear in just a split second. And none of it ever brought salvation to anyone. Nor did any other country or church.

But myself and mine. My neighbour.

ISRAEL. The Heart of God is mentioned several times in the Bible. And then God Himself.
And then of cause sinners and their opportunity to be saved and to get to know Jesus.
Jesus told us to work as long as it was day, because there would come a time when it would be night, and it would not be possible to work.
Well, it is dark outside now. The sun is down. But it is still day.
It is possible to work.
The Prophesies tells me that the End-times will be harsh-times.
Jesus said He had shortened those days. Else nobody would prevail. Sounds harsh to me. Scary.
But at the same time they tell me that it WILL happen. This world will come to an end. And we are invited to his table for a whole eternity. And as many friends and relatives as possible.
Just by believing in Him.

Blessings

Hi Racefan.
Thanks for your openness and honesty in your answer and for taking the time to answer.

No, I do not consider it a sin to study and to be curious. How will He do it?
But I think there is a real risk of paying too much attention on the End-time Prophesies and thereby be abstracted from what we really are called to do. And again the real winner will only be satan.

I wrote a lot in my first reply to this post, and a lot of it is not regarding what you wrote. But I believe it is of the most importance, that we keep in mind that we do not know what He means, when He is telling us the things He do.
And I have seen and read too much writings of the kind that makes some gessin into absolutes.
And I have in fact seen and read too many posts showing the pride of Americans. Frankly spoken.

At the same time I know too much of America behaving superior to other nations.
This war against ISIS in the coalition with something like 60 other nations, is in fact the first intervention in matters of another nation where America is not just overruling, but in fact pay attention to the integrity of the inhabitants of the nation.
"The ground is burning" and in fact ASKING what they would like to get help to do, is a brand new tactic.
And this time it MIGHT help to intervene...

To me it seems like the western world is reaping what they sowed in the late 50's.
It has accumulated into Muslims vs Christians. So what the western world did to the muslim world has helped extreme Muslims to gain power and to raise.

And you are right. Some of the writing here at the Blogs regarding the US is filled with pride but no wisdom.
Once a friend of mine pointed out, that Protestantism started as a protest against the Catholic Church, and we have made protests ever since.
Every time we do not agree to the Church we attend, we just make a new Church.

What about the origin of America? Who were the first immigrants and why did they leave their country?
Not the adventurous ones or the ones with money. But the poor ones. The younger siblings who only had a real future by leaving their homeland and start building a new future in a new country.
And how would they feel the need for proving they had become a success? Proving they could do it just as well as their elder sibling, who in fact inherited everything from their father?

To me it seems like Americans still have the need of proving they are better and more successful than "the old world".

Blessings
