i am sorry, but this guy is STILL the funniest man around! please,if you have not seen this movie, go rent it! most commedians from the 80's,are making more serious movies nowadays. but not steve martin! its as if he was telling all of the younger commedians, "this is how it is done" please rent or buy it, its just too funny!

I first saw Steve when he was a total unknown to the bulk of the public. He was an opening act for Cher on one of her first solo tours. He was hilarious. I think the audience would have been just as satisfied with more of him and less of Cher. But you know he is a very serious person as are most comedians....not quite sure why or how that works. Any ideas...??? Somehow I've learned how to listen to the sound of the sun going down. ~ R. Crowell

I remember when he used to play the banjo on SNL. For someone to come in and take over a part that Peter Sellers did so convincingly is no small feat but I must agree Martin does an excellent job at it!

Any ideas...??? i think he is always serious because, like any other type of occupation, there is a necessary allotted time to prepare for the actual work.(commedy) so,even though it is commedy, that is still the way he makes his living. i guess that is were the seriousness applies.

For someone to come in and take over a part that Peter Sellers did so convincingly is no small feat but I must agree Martin does an excellent job at it! at first i was more than a little upset, that steve martin was going to attempt to recreate what peter sellers did in the original. i mean the original was a masterpiece! but i actually had to see the movie twice to appreciate steve martins work. i would say it is possibly as funny as the original, steve is truly one of the best of all time,i would say at least somewere in the top 15,of the all time list !
