Luxury, a zip lock bag, reading glasses and a Bible, along with the clothes on your back.

Everything else is extravagance in life?

Most that have, will never consider.

Including "Christians" !!!

Comfortable?

Without Absolute Truth, there are only lies disguised as truth, if you know not the Absolute Truth and it is NOT within you, you will embrace a relative truth that fits your eternity, that is presently before you.

Continue to be faithful, deliverance is near, obedience must be seen, be an unconditional blessing as He continues to bless you.

This time is short, serve Him well, serving all.

Without exception.

Um-hum!!!!

I'm much like you my purses/handbags usually cost me between $5 and $10 and I keep them for years....I don't trade and match shoes and purse any longer like I used to...it was expected in the early 80's!

Too much poverty in this world!!! Too much waste!!! Too much greed!! Not enough sharing and caring!!!

I'm going to be honest here, I grew up with very little, everything I bought, I earned, by working part time from the age of 12.

When I married, I had a luxurious middle class life, a large house, 2 cars a boat, yet all that time, I worried about it. I wasn't a christian then, but I felt dreadfully guilty for having so much.I tried to make up for this by giving my family holidays at my home, cooking for them, giving them a special time, sharing what I had but it still didn't seem to be enough, I still felt that I was living a kind of lie.

Now I have very little again and what I do have I appreciate so much. I do not covert things, I know how fortunate I am because the one thing that is the most precious of all is my relationship with God. That is priceless and also given freely.

Hi Lisa,

I buy my clothes at charity shops now and actually love finding a bargain. Some people cannot even afford to do that, so I appreciate that I can. I buy books from charity shops and then give them back, after I have read them, so that they can re-sell them.

We have to look at our lives and how we live them and be good stewards because everything we have belongs to God. It has taken me a few years and some hardships to realise this, not saying I do everything the right way but I really want to try to do so

We are so blessed - If everyone from the wealthier countries could live for a week in a third world country I think it would change perspectives amazingly!

So Lzzy will you share with us where you bought the handbag from Tanzania? I may want to purchase one for a christmas gift.
It is true that what we have is all we need. We have abundance and don't even know it. Thanks for bringing it all out and showing great truth.

HI (((((((((((Susan))))))))

Yes, we certainly are blessed. I see some of the people from the third world countries and marvel at their faith, when all else is taken away, their faith in God is astounding, because they only have Him to rely upon. It is very humbling, we who have so much, find it hard to take the time to even pray at times or to think of others, let alone live completely for God.

Hi Beth , good to see you

We had a visiting Bishop from Tanzania at our church, we help to support the people in his town, by providing food for hospitals there and many other projects. The patients at the hospitals, if they have no relatives, do not receive any food at all, and they die, so the bags being sold, helped to raise money for the ladies to take in food to the hospitals.

His wife brought some bags with her, in the hope of selling them. They were made by ladies who belong to The Christian Women's Union over there. I will try to find out if they can be bought elsewhere for you They are made of cotton fabric and are about 12 inches by 10 in lovely African designs. and colours.

AMEN Izzy girl! I remember walking into little shops on Rodeo Drive in Hollywood when I was there a few years ago and being astounded at the prices...just can't fathom it.

And I was just given a bag a shoes...Nike Air running shoes in good condition... much newer than my own... but her daughter felt she needed new ones.

HI Helen,

It's great when we can receive gifts like that and give too. My sister in law and I share lots of things. If we go shopping and there is a 2 for the price of one offer, we split it so we are only paying half the price for something. We share packs of veggies, even shared a pack of pan scrubbers lol...there were 12 for 1 pound, who needs 12 of them? lol. We both live day to day and week to week with regards to money but we are so blessed in that we have this wonderful relationship and can help one another out during these difficult times.

HI Wendy, believe me when I say this, I am only just starting to get to grips with being a good steward, lol. I have to now, I have very little money coming in but I am realizing that it is a blessing in a way because it makes you feel so good when you can eke out your money for as long as you can, and find bargains along the way.

I don't do without much at all, I am very blessed and yes 'There for the grace of God go I'

It is bad how we are so wastful. How others suffer so much, and we have so much and never even think about them for a second. The lord says he will provide our needs. then we go and waste with all the other he has provided without consideration of those in need. God Bless your caring heart. I will pray that this will touch the hearts of others.

Gods Continued Blessings.

The Parable of the Rich Fool

13Someone in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me."
14Jesus replied, "Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?" 15Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

16And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. 17He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.'

18"Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." '

20"But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'

21"This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God."

Luke 12:13-21
