Yes, believe it or not Canada has a desert, or rather a semi desert. Lots of cattle ranching and sage brush. They have a beautiful provincial park to camp in. Paul lake. Kamloops is the anglicised version of the Shuswap word "Tk'emlups", meaning 'meeting of the waters'. Shuswap is still actively spoken in the area by members of the Kamloops Band. Summer is hot hot hot and winters cold. Industry is ranching, logging, and mining. Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! Forte Steel The origin of Fort Steele can be traced to the small settlement of Galbraith’s Ferry, which was born during the 1864 Kootenay gold rush. In 1888 the settlement’s name was changed to Fort Steele to honour Superintendent Samuel Steele of the North West Mounted Police, who peacefully settled tensions between white settlers and the Ktunaxa people. Major mineral discoveries in the East Kootenay brought a new boom in 1897. Fort Steele became the commercial, social and administrative centre of the region while property values soared. However, in 1898, when the B.C. Southern Railway bypassed Fort Steele in favour of Cranbrook, the boom sputtered to a halt and the town soon declined into obscurity. The Province of British Columbia acquired the site in 1961, and later began the good work of preserving and reconstructing the historic town. Today, the Province of BC, along with the Friends of Fort Steele Society, continue this good work preserving and presenting an important part of Canada’s pioneering history. The Okanagan Valley is almost dry enough to warrant being called a desert. With a variety of climate and landscape, the Okanagan Valley has something for everyone: hoodoos, orchards, vineyards, mountains, valleys, lakes, highlands, ski slopes, and trails Kelowna , Penticton, Osoyos, Oliver, Kamloops, Merrit, We stayed in Osoyoss for a couple of days and rented a speed boat. The lake goes right through the city which is surrounded by beaches. Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."

. Sounds like a great place to visit, how far and in what direction is it in from either Vancouver, or Langley? The only 2 cities I really know in BC. . .
