THE LAST DAYS CHURCH ....... APOSTATE
Sweethoney2007 7/24/2008 12:36 pm
The church in the “last days” will be apostate. True believers will be among them, but as a whole, the church will be fallen away.

Paul tells us that in the “latter times” Christians will abandon their faith and sound doctrine and gather around teachers who will tell them what they want to hear. He goes on to describe people who have a form of godliness but DENY THE POWER (The holy Spirit) And finally, the Lord describes a time when Christians will betray one another and follow false prophets who will deceive many.

The Spirit of God is speaking to the church in this day. To every one of who is born of the holy Spirit. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the church”.

The church is about to enter the most difficult period in history. No where in the bible does it talk about an end time revival. It does say a last day harvest but few will be saved...not many.

The Lord says

there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall be.” (Matthew 24:21) Prior to that Jesus says, "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

Stay tuned for more.

The harvest is ready but the workers are few is my understanding.

As believers fall away in discontent, delusion, and in their ignorance will those who remain and do nothing be held responsible for some of the falling away?

Perhaps not?

I see a lot who may never mature past the point they are currently because they can not seem to see what is before them.

You see it, but they seem like they can not.

Has it started?

If they are doing nothing then they are probably a part of the apostate church...may many many ...sola scripture..MANY ...will say to me on that day LORD,LORD......

Matthew 7:15-23

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity

It seems the Lord is showing us the same thing Peter, only thing is that you believe Christians fall away from being saved while I believe that the apostate church is not really Christian but a phoney baloney church that is mimicing the one true church of Jesus Christ....hense the word apostate...false brethern ...false apostels, false christians, false church...a different gospel and a different Jesus than the one of the bible.

I have for a long time felt that real persecution is going to fall on the true believers in the end times and not a rapture before it happens. Tha Bible says we are delivered from God's wrath, but not tribulation. Why should we be any more immune than all those godly men and women who have preceded us throughout church history. To say nothing of the many who are experiencing persecution right now in countries where being a Christian is a crime or at best where they are hated or barely even tolerated?
I do also believe that an apostate church using our Lord's name will also arise and will persecute the true church. I feel that this is where the betraying of one another may stem from. People will disown us for not going along with "itching ear" doctrines and will side against us.
May the Lord help us and preserve us in faithfulness in those times.

Let your gentleness be evident to all. Philippians 4:5

Exactly...I have studied pre trib, mid trib and post trib....there is more evidence for mid trib...I posted a while back on this, will repost again on it. Blessings! Kim

    Quoting Sweethoney2007:

I believe the same as you about the apostate church not really being Christian but being a 'phoney baloney' church. I DO believe it is possible for Christians to fall away {e.g. Hebrews 10} but I don't want to get into an argument about that right now!

Like you I have also rejected the pre-trib rapture but am more inclined to a post-trib rather than a mid-trib. In Matthew 24v22 Jesus says: "For the sake of the elect those days will be shortened" and that makes sense only with a post-trib surely.

I would be delighted to be wrong though!
