If we get enough players we can have 2 teams and each team presents 10 trivia questions to the other team. Questions should be thought provoking but not so hard that no one can get them either! If we only get a samll team then we will all go solo. Winner or winning team gets a virtual prize..... Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."

| ||||||
7/22/2008 1:31 pm |
Bisterbate is right....not doctrinally based. You want to divide up into teams? Round two we can admit new players. Each team member comes up with a question. Blog the question. Not too simple either. Thought provoking remember. The next opposite team member answers...if he/she cant get it say pass and the next team member tries. Pass on till all members have a chance. If no one gets the answer on that team then the other team gets a strike.(bonus 5 points) Each team member gets a chance to ask a question. Two rounds 5 points per game. When a team member gets the question 1 point is given to the team. Any questions or suggestions? I will go first just to start the ball rolling. Team 1 Kim Thomas Sonia Karen Bisterbate Team 2 Mia Pete clay Racefan Noah Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."

Actually BB is on my team so he should not have answered...ahhhhhh. Ok that was a practice question. Once again....Team person asks question....person on other team answers. No looking it up!!! We alternate between teams...example...Kim askes question...say mia answers...Mia cannot answer again until until every one has had a turn. Nest Mia asks question then person on other team answers...5 questions total. if you do not know it when you log on say ...pass...next person tries. Strikes your are out...5 points to other team. Get it? if you want to help each other then email. Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."

Thomas, I think I've figured it out, we are on Sweethoney's team, so when she asks a question, the other team answers, so we are not supposed to, I think. I'm so sorry, is that right, Kim? Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness!

7/23/2008 4:34 am |
I'm in the same boat. But if I understand the rules correctly, we ask and answer the questions in turn and since both BB and I are last on our lists we probably won't be called on to do anything at all for a while - so when we get up again in then morning it should just about be our turn! Peter I still have problems with team vs. individuals, and on the criteria of selecting any bible subject. I will list my issues in a while - before "we" have to go to bed again! LOL! Let's see what the others say and contribute with.
| ||||||
7/23/2008 4:45 am |
Is it Psalm 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty? Are we allowed to look in our Bibles, cause I did. So if not, then I can be disqualified. I'm in favor of looking in the book! Were we supposed to learn the Scriptures from memory? It also depends on how the questions should be formulated. Keep tuned, I'll add more of this later.
| ||||||
7/23/2008 6:41 am |
About the criteria of the questions and some practical observations: -So far the two practice questions had to do with specifics: "where" and "what" it says. -Time (=how long one can think before answering) doesn't seem to make much difference. -I don't see any thought-provoking in the previous two questions. -It could still be possible and valuable/edifying to search in the bible, if "specific key words" aren't used, but rather a paraphrasing of them, or the idea/concept behind. -Specific questions, but still of generic bible knowledge, i.e. not bound to any language or bible version are still possible, say: * How many days did it take to create the world?; or, How many "breads" did the disciple have before Jesus did the miracle?; or, In which book do Satan (fx. paraphrased as "Lucifer", or "Fake Angel of light") make his first appearance? And so on. * It could also be possible to give a choice between 3 answers. - Fx. Q: How old was "Noah's father" when he died? R: a) 595 b) 962 c) 777 ? - Or, Q: How many persons actually entered the sepulcher even if they several saw the linen clothes? a) 3 b) 2 c) more than three. * Since we are 5 in each team there could also be 5 different answers: a,b,c,d,e. Those of the team that answer correctly could get 1 extra point each, even if the entire team advances or not. I'm not trying to make this too difficult, LOL, actually more exciting and organic. * A last observation might be on making a clear connection between the previous question/answer and the new one. Why? Because in this way one cannot prepare all the 5 questions ahead, but one has to wait until one's turn to work out an interesting question. What do you think? BB
| ||||||
7/23/2008 11:20 am |
BB the questions should be like riddles (I did say profound)...not a university exam! Basic but profound! Good grief none of us can even agree together on a bible game.....LOL ![]() Ok.....maybe I am not clear enough....because we have different time zones there is no point in having turns per se, however, each team takes a turn. Only answer if it is your teams question. You may answer if you log on and no one has answered the question. Then wait to see if the answer is correct....anyone can amen it ...look it up...whatever. Then that person who answered leaves a question. Netx person on opposing team answers. Keep rotating until everyone has had a turn....so we are not stuck on this blog for all eternity! ![]() If you pass then the next guy on your team can answer. TEAM WORK No one can answer on your team...5 bonus points...a strike to the opposite team. Email each other for help if you need to. BASIC QUESTIONS...Psalm 91 and 23 are very popular psalms...if you dont know a question...well you have learned...I may not know your question either! Next practice question to see if we can get this ok? By the way where is everyone else????? Sweethoneys question What was Adams name? Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."
| ||||||
7/23/2008 2:49 pm |
Team 1 Kim Thomas Sonia Karen BRisterbate ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mia, dear, move your bee-hind!! LOL!
| ||||||
7/23/2008 4:39 pm |
BB, according to Kim's rules, anyone on team 2 can answer the question, not necessary to go in order, or it will take, I quote, "an eternity." So Team 2, it's your question to answer! We're waiting. LOL Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness!

Momento: After that the person on the other team has answered a question, the same who made the question must answer if it's correct? Or if one of the same team notices that there is a better and more correct answer could answer it again? I mean... until the answer isn't accepted for right, the one that answered cannot ask a new question, right? In the case of Adam, Mia answered, but she didn't leave any new questions, because no one told her if "Adam" was correct. If she had said "PASS", whose turn would it be? Well now it's Team 2 again: Mia, or Pete or Clay or Terrie or Peter may answer. and then?
| ||||||
7/24/2008 3:01 am |
Only looking and dont mean to interrupt your game but... from the outside looking in it seems like Brister Bate said "But the questions must be fair! Not doctrinally biased!" (he seemed a little bit worried the questions might be too difficult) and so SweetHoney really dumbed things down a little too much by asking what Adam's name was? and then Mia said... "Adam's name was, ummmmmmmmm .... ADAM! Did I get it right?" That should be enough to comfort ANYBODY that this game isnt going to be too difficult, doctrine-wise. okay anyway, going back to what I was doing previously... Jn:14:15: If ye love me, keep my commandments. --Jesus.

7/24/2008 5:53 am |
Has Claudia hinted that she would like to participate? As far she doesn't mention anything or anyone outside the Bible itself, why not? However, there should be one extra participant in addition to her!
| ||||||
7/24/2008 11:44 am |
Claudia, you are welcome to join us....well who can we invite....??? This game will not take off for a bit it seems....maybey we can use this blog for discussion and start the game on another blog...with only the game and no yapping! What do you think??? Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."

7/24/2008 11:45 am |

Team 2 it's your question...... we're awaiting an answer..... Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness!
| ||||||
7/24/2008 11:55 am |
Peter I was trying to be profound... Ok let me rephrase the question....I am laughing so hard that I can barely type... On his breast the disciple whom Jesus loved rested Who was the disciple resting on Jesus chest that he loved???? Now the question sounds stupid.... I though it was better the other way. Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."
| ||||||
7/24/2008 12:10 pm |
Team 2 it's your question...... we're awaiting an answer..... ![]() Well now that we've got one, I think I'm entitled to answer, so I will: Jesus loved all of his disciples of course, but the one generally thought of as "the disciple that Jesus loved" was: JOHN {Of course the phrase only comes up in John's gospel - was he biased do you think? }I think I'm supposed to wait until this is confirmed as right before asking a question, so I'll do that too! Peter "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth" 2 Timothy 2 v 15
| ||||||
7/24/2008 12:48 pm |
You are correct Peter....... Team B 1 point. By the way, Claudia is on our team and I have asked Dennis to join...if he does he is yours! Questions are now out of six. Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."
