~ Christians attacking others in who's name? umm CHRIST's? ~

I'm getting to the point here where I'm skeeered to read *religious* blogs for the simple reason - hardly anyone can share something, or try to discuss things, such as denominations, churches, and so on without someone attacking someone else...

I keep reading attacks of the Catholic church, if you DONT agree with it.. FINE.. Just DONT go on and on about it..

I keep reading personal attacks to people who have a different opinion.. WHY? Doesnt Jesus tell us to LOVE one another with the Love that He gives us? Did Jesus ever speak about denomination? NO..

I just dont know where people get of where they think they are sooo holy, yet Jesus does say also, that "By their fruits, you shall know them"..

Lots of rotten trees.. Time to change, Speak in LOVE, not condemnation.. and IF there is someone with a different view on churches, why not befriend them, and then be close enough to point out the difference.. isn't that what Jesus would do?

Ok - whine out...

Sad to say, but usually, denominations and religions divide the body of Christ. Some Christians give much credit to their denominations, and forgot the Creator, who is the true reason why we need fellowship.

I'm with fidget, i am christian, a bible believing christian, and thats all there is to know, the rest is a potential argument waiting to happen, i go to a particular church to do my group worship and keep holy the Sabbath day, but the rest of the time its me and god worshiping when its appropriate.

Why bring in religious politics into it, lets not be Pharisees and condem lets love one another as christ loved the church.

To gain is to lose

PROTEST-ants used to realize they were PROTEST-ing the errors of the Catholic Church. Thousands of Martyrs gave their lives for the sake of the truth and were put to death, tortured, burned at the stake by the Catholic Church.

There is an alarming indifference in regard to the doctrines which are the pillars of the Christian faith. The opinion is gaining ground, that, after all, these are not of vital importance. This degeneracy is strengthening the hands of the agents of Satan, so that false theories and fatal delusions which the faithful in ages past imperiled their lives to resist and expose, are now regarded with favor by thousands who claim to be followers of Christ.

It sounds "loving" but is it really?

It is one of the leading doctrines of Romanism that the pope is the visible head of the universal church of Christ, invested with supreme authority over bishops and pastors in all parts of the world. More than this, the pope has been given the very titles of Deity. He has been styled "Lord God the Pope" and has been declared infallible. He demands the homage of all men. The same claim urged by Satan in the wilderness of temptation is still urged by him through the Church of Rome, and vast numbers are ready to yield him homage or turn the other way and not say a word about it in protest.

The spirit of concession to paganism disguised as "Christian Love".

The defenders of the papacy declare that the church has been maligned, and the Protestant world are inclined to accept the statement. Many urge that it is unjust to judge the church of today by the abominations and absurdities that marked her reign during the centuries of ignorance and darkness. They excuse her horrible cruelty as the result of the barbarism of the times and plead that the influence of modern civilization has changed her sentiments.

Have these persons forgotten the claim of infallibility put forth for eight hundred years by this haughty power? So far from being relinquished, this claim was affirmed in the nineteenth century with greater positiveness than ever before. As Rome asserts that the "church never erred; nor will it, according to the Scriptures, ever err " (John L. von Mosheim, Institutes of Ecclesiastical History, book 3, century II, part 2, chapter 2, section 9, note 17), how can she renounce the principles which governed her course in past ages?

The papal church will never relinquish her claim to infallibility. All that she has done in her persecution of those who reject her dogmas she holds to be right; and would she not repeat the same acts, should the opportunity be presented? Let the restraints now imposed by secular governments be removed and Rome be reinstated in her former power, and there would speedily be a revival of her tyranny and persecution.

God is the good in people. There are many denominations here. It doesn't matter to me what denomination anyone
is. I look deeper than that. We will all be standing on the road at the end together.

P.S. Picnic at Marilyn's! BYOPS (Bring your own potato Salad)

Don't tell anybody, but there really isn't a picnic at Marilyn's. I was just being silly! Maybe I did it because I hate it when my friends argue. P.S. I like bacon-wrapped hot dogs but I would settle for mustard on it. You say tomata, I say tomato. Have a nice day, Stevie! Is that a pieanna you are sitting at in your pic?

I did see your comments on Cathoholics blog, but his blog is not the only one I'm refering to.. there seems a clan here of people (not you included) that I've noticed who just speak on blogs based on Religion, and stir things up..

Standing up for God and His truth is one thing greg, we ALL Do it that Love the Lord to Death.. Bickering and attacking others and putting Christs name on it AINT.. and you my friend know the difference..

God bless ya troublemaker..

Interesting you shared that..

However, ain't really the point of my blog. The point of the blog was to *whine* about people attacking others in a bad way and not uplifting as christians should do in how Jesus tells us to

"Everyone should work out their own salvation with fear and trembling." *paraphrased

As for me, I'm not into religion or denominations.
And you will not see me debating nor arguing either of these topics.

I believe it's all about a personal relationship with the Most High God, Jesus Christ!

Religious people scare me.
Spiritual people inspire me.

No denomination, no religion.
Just call me a child of God!

Good one, Fraz. Um, what if we quit doing what comes *naturally* (read: unregenerated) to us and start doing what the Bible is saying???????? Oh, uh, guess we would have to go read or Bibles and become do-ers of the Word. Um. Think that's too lofty a goal??? Me neither. hehehe

They will know we are Christians by our sniping??? oops. sorry. by our love. Hmmm. Back to the drawing board.

He doesn't really expect us to *do* all this stuff, does He??

Okay. Too much sugar today. Later gator!

Hey Jody.. thanks for stopping by.. - yeah I hafta agree with you, I do believe to "slam" other peoples beliefs is just ignorance on their part, as its easier to "slam" than think and be reasonable.. just the same as with christians, muslims, sikhs and so on.. ignorance today is NOT bliss.. and NEVER will be..
Ma mom used to have a phrase and I still giggle at it now, when people come of as know-it-all - she used to say "know-it-all and know nuthin" how true..
Luv ya too lady
