Right Before He Called the Little Children to Him, Jesus Said:

Luke 18:
9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: 10 "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'

13 "But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'

14 "I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Good lesson!

Lilies, I was going to post that scripture as well, but I was at a point of stepping away from the blogs. What about the person who recognizes his own sin but continues to hurl judgments on others?

The only one I can think of is the one about removing the plank from your own eye before trying to remove the speck from another's. Most people who criticize others are really seeing themselves, not the truly seeing the other person. In psychology it's call projection. But Jesus talked about it first with His log/speck lesson. I posted about that awhile back because of something that was happening in my life off line.

sometimes man's worst enemy is, that which is within. The only defense to such is humbleness, I suppose. Which are instructed for us as people to do. Nice refresher Ms.

YOU SAID: "Most people who criticize others are really seeing themselves, not the truly seeing the other person."

RESPONSE: Yes, Jesus was a great critic. The Pharisees didn't have a chance.

Psychology is a world-view, sister. Leave it alone.

Salvation is of the LORD
