Greg I am so sorry. My heart goes out to the parents, especially the moms. My daughter died in a wreck four years ago. Their is no pain greater than the loss of a child.
We are designed like God-- fully human, fully alive.

Greg, this is so sad. Even when it's not 'our own' we feel the pain when someone is connected to us in some way. And this is your second 'hit' in a short time. My prayers are with the family, and with you and your son.

Hope
As you ask, so will I pray.
God calls each and every and everyone of His children home for a perfect reason when He does so.
This is a fact of our faith.
He will always help us bare the grief it we but ask Him.
Without that Eternal hope, there is NO hope.

Thank you everyone. Justin later found out as friends gathered together outside the home and told me Jacob was riding a bikecycle along with his girlfriend rode in front and shielded her from being hit by the big rig truck that didn't see either of them she wasn't seriously injured but he was pinned underneath and killed. So tragic to hear of anyone die but even more so when they are so young. I keep remembeing how delighful and beautiful his smile was the other day when he walked in and said hello to me with a couple other of my son's friends. No greater love than this that a man would laid down his life for a friend. Jacob thought only of his girlfriend's safety and gave his life by pushing her out of harms way to protect his friend.

CARSON - A 20-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed Tuesday by a big rig turning from Susana Road onto Del Amo Boulevard on the border of Carson and unincorporated Rancho Dominguez.
The collision occurred at 5:02 p.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Gonzalez, who said the cyclist was pinned underneath the rig.
When the call was first reported, it was thought the bicyclist was a teenager, he said.
The CHP was investigating the cause of the accident.

Thank you very much everyone for remembering this family in prayers. I guess hearing of Jacobs death right after Anne's last week and the way they both die was a bit to much. In the end all we can to is commend them to God knowing He loved them more than anyone could. His ways are alawys perfect and just and He always seeks to show mercy. May God bless them both.

jakob's accident story Body: Los Angelesrss South Bay cyclist killed by big rig Tuesday, September 30, 2008 By Robert Holguin
CARSON, Calif. (KABC) -- A cyclist was struck and killed by a big rig at a busy South Bay intersection.
The corner of Susana Road and Del Amo Boulevard is a very busy intersection in Carson. It's an intersection where 18-wheelers come off the 710 Freeway. On Tuesday, it was also the scene of a terrible collision.
Traffic was flowing freely on Tuesday night, but debris that scattered the sidewalks indicated an earlier tragedy.
"It's horrible. Really, really young man," said Jorge Del Giorgio, an eyewitness.
Jorge is talking about what happened at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. An 18-wheeler was making a right turn on to Del Amo when authorities say two cyclists entered the intersection. They were both hit by the big rig.
"They were on their bikes, riding their bikes from the sidewalk onto the crosswalk area crossing the street ... and they were hit by the truck," said Sgt. Tom Filkins, California Highway Patrol.
A young woman only had minor injuries. But, authorities say a 20-year-old man was run over and then trapped beneath the cab's rear axle.
"I can't tell you who is at fault right now. We're investigating it and we should know relatively soon," said Sgt. Filkins.
Jorge says the 20-year-old man was initially knocked to the ground and tried to get up, but the big rig kept going.
"I moved my hand and tried to stop the truck, but the truck continued ahead and crushed over ... the left tire over the guy," said Jorge.
Willie Schrock rides down this street every day.
"You more or less have to be careful and be watchful," said Schrock.
The name of the 20-year-old victim has not been released.
