My question to the pastor was how did he feed 5000+. COLOR referrences, his blue, mine green in places where I wanted to comment. Context. Jesus is teaching this multitude for a couple chapters. Matthew records several parables. Also within context John the Baptist is beheaded by Herod. Here is the text. I'm using the New King James. You should be able to follow along with any translation. I'll teach from verse to verse the things that I want to point out. Matt 14:13-15 taking from the text Matthew records that the Disciples discovered that there wasn't sufficient food because they wanted to send them into the villages to get something to eat. Therefore, I persume that they didn't have much. But let's compare a parallel book to get a better understanding of what is happening. In Mark 8:3 seems to be another occassion where 4,000 was fed. Note the difference: The 5000 - 5 loafs, two fish , seems to give both at the same time, 5000 men and then in addition women and children The 4000, loaves of bread and two fish, just says four thousand, seven baskets were left over. 16 But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat." 17 And they said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish." This was what they had. There is nothing said that anyone share their lunch or lunches. Seems he is persuming, as above. Isnt there something called inferring the answer? Using OT events, could it be possible to put 2 and 2 together?18 He said, "Bring them here to Me." 19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. Note that Jesus took the fish and multiplied them. I cant find where Jesus MULTIPLIED THE FISH. Just as turning the water to wine Jesus is Lord of Creation. He doesn't create something out of nothing, but skips the process of taking water from the ground bringing it through the vine and into the grapes, the grapes maturing, and then expressing the juice and advancing the fermantation, makes wine. This bread and fish the same way. Takes these elements and skips a few steps and multiplies the fish and bread. Remember He said that He was the Manna that came down from heaven, certainly a figure of speach that teaching that life comes from Him. "Man cannot live on bread alone, but every 'Word' from the the mouth of God" This is his explaination of how things got done. 20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Note they were all satisfied, meaning not hungry, certainly a miracle in that because who at this time would be able to bring with the economic means a lunch that would fed not only their family but others as well. JEsus taught this to the poor. In parable form, the "how to" 21 Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children. We might in some areas be saying the same thing. But I understand that the Bible is telling us that Jesus fed everyone out of the five loaves and two fish. Some times in the past when I pastored another church, our pot lucks were didn't have a great deal of food. But after blessing it, everyone had their fill. At times I wondered if Jesus did it again and multiplied what was there. Jesus didnt multiply the food, did he? The people were multiplied right? I suppose my last comment for anyone who would care anyways.. is this.. seems to me that as long as we believe in the 'magic wand' theory and we are not interactive, using the wisdom of God himself, "all our pot lucks will lack". Wish we would ALL use that BIG HOPE we say we have... that BIG FAITH we say we have, that LOVE for God and each other we say we have and stun each other using the wisdom of God. I wonder what in the world God would do then. And nothing beats a try but a failure huh? What I read in the bible.. "my people perish for lack of knowledge".. |

We are led to assume that the disciples took a poll of 5000 (plus women and children=likely 10000 or more ) and everyone was stupid enough that they KNEW they were going out awayt from home for an indefinite time period and didn't bring their PICNIC BASKETS. If The story is correct- Jesus also had to create lots of magic baskets- as well as lots of "magic food" since we have been told they gathered up 12 EXTRA BASKETS WHEN THERE WAS ONLY ONE????? TO BEGIN WITH. Jesus KNEW the disciples couldn't possibly know how to get the people FED. But Jesus also knew the PEOPLE were not STUPID. He knew they were JEWS who KNEW THE LAWS ABOUT CHARITY AMONGST THEMSELVES. Jesus created a spirit of SHARING- in all 5000 plus people- all at the same time. REMINDED THEM THAT THEY ARE THEIR BROTHER'S KEEPERS. SO the picnic baskets OPENED and that spirit of SHARING was made real in their WORKS that day. JEsus got the ball rolling- the 12 OBEYED HIM and the people with BASKETS took the clue that NO ONE HAD TO BE HUNGRY IF THEY SHARED which proved to be TRUE- since there were indeed 12 baskets left over for the DISCIPLES AND JESUS TO EAT LATER AS WELL. We HAVE to begin to UNDERSTAND- JESUS WAS NOT STUPID. HE taught the 12 a HUGE LESSON that day. And it had nothing to do with "MAGIC"- but the MIRACLE of showing people HOW TO OPEN THEIR HEARTS TO OTHER PEOPLE THAT THEY REALLY COULD HELP OUT. The COMPASSION JESUS HAD ON THEM WAS TO ELIMINATE THE POSSIBILITY OF SELFISHNESS BY EXAMPLE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM ALL VISUALLY- AND SHOW THEM ALL- THAT IF THE GUYS NEXT TO YOU HAD NO FOOD- GIVE THEM SOME OF YOURS. And the people saw that it was good- and did what they KNEW was the law of God- THEY LOVED THEIR BROTHERS AND SHARED WHAT LITTLE- OR MUCH- THAT THEY THEMSELVES HAD. Now imagine all of those little jewish mothers- DEMANDING that their hubbys invite "that family over there with the kids" to come and help their family clean up the left overs in their basket. Jesus was no dummy... He knew how big the heart of a man can be- and especially a mother's is... Reality- is even BETTER THAN FICTION... It don't take a MIRACLE OF CREATING BREAD AND FISH- Just a miracle of getting people to share what they have. "widder's mite"... even a crumb or 2 will help.  Addendum to "losing my faith"...

Could you imagine the dis ease that would be cured if we did this? Could you imagine 1.9 billion christians, most with the use of the internet ... if they arent online they will know someone who is. MULTIPLY that by a mite. then how many would join the bandwagon? How many others would WANT to join in... PRAISING GOD FOR REAL.. FOR SOMETHING TANGIBLE .. REJOICING TOGETHER.. I wonder how long it would take for Jesus idea to spread around the world.. Also, the two that were struck dead after selling all they had and hiding back some.. Peter if I recall.. said why did you do that? It was YOURS to do what you wanted to.. they didnt have to give all they had, they could have said we are keeping some for us. Even Moses with the manna, each man got what he needed. what makes me really sad tho is this pastor thinks he is bringing people into one accord by allowing other christian rituals within his church, and he has spent years in college to be a teacher. What is so sad too is that those rituals and beliefs wouldnt mean a thing after we experienced such GREATNESS.. Doesnt it say THIS gospel would be preached the world over then the end will come? Doesnt it also say if God didnt shorten the time no flesh would be saved..? So here we are 2000 years later.... evidentally we havent had the proper gospel taught to us. People that experienced Jesus took off running to find someone to TELL.. imagine us today.. To witness someone having the worries and sorrows removed from them by other people is JOY, KINDNESS, GOODNESS.. to the persons giving and to the persons needing. What WOULD GOD SAY?

Why are you confused? WIll you please read the stories again- see that He "held it up, blessed it broke in RIGHT OUT IN FRONT OF THEIR EYES- and then gave it to someone else bit by bit (right in front of their eyes ) so THEY could in turn give it to someone else (right in front of their eyes ) AND ASK TO WHOM THEY GAVE IT FREELY- IF THEY HAD SOME LIKE THE LAD DID THAT THEY TOO WOULD SHARE. Yes its awesome Yendor!! and its the tip of the iceburg... WE alllllllllllllllllll know people in peril here.. We allllllllllllll mourn for a loved ones difficulties. Or a friend that is in dire straits. Every last one of us experience those things and possibly we are the one in peril. HOw would you feel, if you asked your brother/sister to help you help someone else and all you got in return is a tongue lashing or a turned head and worse, paranoia or worse yet, an excuse for not doing it simply because ya dont wanna.. Well, the bible clearly shows us up there too! Well, I dont know about you, but I want to SEE SALVATION.. I want to raise my hands in the air and say welllll wellll PRAISE GOD IN HEAVEN lookie what he let us DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Ya know.. when my mom was dying.. her face was lined with pain, creased with worry (yeah she even worried bout us on her deathbed).. When she died her face smoothed out.. she looked so at peace. No more anquish.. Now, imagine life for the living. Look at all the worry lines and illnesses from stress that could be removed if only we would actually BELIEVE we had to DO SOMETHING. Look left n right... do you know of anyone that we could all help? I was looking up a farthing.. did you know in todays time that would be merely $1.25. Geez, I could do that 4x a month to help 4 people without sweating or fretting. and then my daydreams keep going and I say wow, what if 1000 people joined. Talk about 'daily bread' for some poor person out there who is scared to death to LIVE.. Well, I couldnt even imagine myself questioning over a measley $1.25. I wouldnt be able in my heart to accuse or think evil over $1.25. I have more to GAIN by being obedient to God, by seeing it all through a good conscience... He makes giving so easy... and so sweet. well thats what flows in my head anyways... whoever it would be that got that kind of alms.. I can close my eyes and see plights ending. Well.. we are all generous, Katrina proved that to me without a doubt.. I think we just miss the 'one accord' thingy. hehe.. I wonder what would happen to the 'spirit' here at bc.. wonder how many would come back.. wonder how many would partake, they did increase daily lol curious onlookers, thats what folks were with Jesus and they were wow'd. Its not the 'stingy' lil events that happen in our lives, of which we call miracles.. thats the real deal. But we have to believe that way, because nothing MAGNIFICENT as happened to anyone here. if it has, please testify ... help me with MY FAITH.

"... help me with MY FAITH." WOW... I wish you could come and hang out with me for a couple of weeks... I get tears just thinking of this stuff.. It seems that I see God preforming miracles every week... Just last night I attended a fund raiser for a couple that have been financially devastated by heath related issues.. I saw a the body of Christ come together to support this family with money and encouragement(God working in the hearts of His people)... ..another family that has been financially hurting due to the husband being unemployed for months as seen God put in the hearts of His people to come along side of this family and help them make their house payment so that they don't lose their home! ..another man I know that was laid off last fall.. I ask him how he was doing... he told that God has given even more that he had before he was laid off.. He said God has blessed him way over and above!... I can go on and on how I can see God working through the hearts of His people.. and some that aren't His.. For me the blogs are for fun and some stimulus conversation.. But I don't think we will see God (work) in the blogs... I would guess that half the people here aren't real or at least not too honest about who they are.. so if we want to see God at work, and be a part of what God is doing we need to get out... and when we do we'll see God... maybe its in a neighbor.. a co-worker.. a church member.. a stranger... or an anonymous friend... God is at work around here... I do enjoy your insights you have mustardNpearls .. you make me think, and even laugh a few times.. God Bless you Banana and toothbrushes... God Bless you Have ya ever clicked into the post that I use as a signature and read it from the beginning to the very end- including ALL of the replies... It may help a bit- and it may have some questions popping up for ya that you'll get a few "aha" moments out of. Keep in mind what M&P has done to you here in giving you some ideas and some thoughts that help you examine reality around you and how God really can does and WILL work through our hands. Jesus taught people how to DOOOOOOOOO the works His Father wanted done for a very specific reason. Those works have RULES to follow just as any "other jobs" have rules to follow. If you are working as a welder, refuse to use welding rod or energy to heat up the metals- will you ever get the welding done? Nope. Cuz there are rules to follow. Just as there are in... ... ... Stewardship.Just as in all other jobs- rules mean the difference between success and falling short of the goal described in the "job description". Rules. COMMANDS. Laws. Same things entirely when it comes to what Jesus was teaching. How so? No job ever STARTS until people KNOW WHAT TO DO AND WILL FOLLOW THE RULES OF MAKING THE RESULT HAPPEN PERFECTLY. "BLUEPRINT". That is the exact same thing as the LAW. IF we wanna build a boat- do we run and find a blueprint for how to build a can opener? Some might- but then Jesus would be there to congratulate them on being a worker of iniquity and asking them to kindly go work for someone else- as HEAVEN WAS ABOUT A BOAT. The rules are simple- much as what M&P has said. EVERYONE CAN DO THEM PERFECTLY. Ya wanna BOAT- learn also what it takes to make it float. Anyway- if yer interested in perfection- Jesus WILL float yer boat IF YA FOLLOW HIS BLUEPRINT. He really DID PROMISE YOU STUFF YOU CAN NOT YET EVEN IMAGINE- IF WE DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE WORKS ACCORDING TO WHAT HE TAUGHT and never vary or modify except to use better tools. Folks can't understand the word "perfection" cuz they wanna define it how ever THEY wanna define it- not the way JESUS defined it. She knows stuff and BELIEVES JESUS and can indeed answer a lot of yer questions with both integrity and with literal compassion and concern. Gordy... I read through your post and the project/ministry you have started and it looks great... I have been involved a few years in something very similer to what you have started here.. but not on the internet... I would be courious to see how it has worked out for the groups that have got started.. Banana and toothbrushes... Oh no not again... lol Life is too short so Lighten Up a bit...

Dont forsake blog land too quickly .. God works in mysterious ways haha.. 1. what about the shut ins? 2. what about the people far away that we can communication with now. Ya see yendor here is my thought.... this GOSPEL must be preached all over the WORLD. GEEZ are we ever slowpokes.. 2000 years.. It only took God 400 to rescue the Israelites. What gordy purposed was a trial of 'being perfect'. Before anyone could get started.. well the nay sayers. accusers.. etc.. Yendor what IF.. we tried this here at BC and blew OUR OWN MINDS? Gods storehouse IS REAL. its not this 'spiritual food' stuff lol Man, please dont offer me that while my real belly is growling lol please lets try again.. (thats a too all!) what HARM would there be to TRY SOMETHING GOOD AND SWEET AND HONEST.. FORGET about scammers and such.. we have enough here that we know, to enjoy the fruits of our labors here. Faith and trust has got to start SOMEWHERE.. I would like to meet your friends and you.. maybe one day we can huh? via the internet hahaha MUAHAHAHA.. 'Perfection"..... in JUST ONE TINY LITTLE THING.... Something Jesus taught and did... JUST ONE LITTLE DETAIL... ONE TINY DETAIL. JUST A SINGLE DETAIL... ONE... not 2 or 3... ONE TINY DETAIL... "PERFECTLY DONE"... PERFECTION IN ONE LITTLE THING. But the people who say PERFECTION IS IMPOSSIBLE all said "NO ONE CAN BE PERFECT". Yet all it was ever about was ONE SINGLE TINY ITTY BITTY DETAIL- not "perfect in everything"... Even so- they made a point of telling everyone that "PERFECTION IS IMPOSSIBLE." "ONLY JESUS WAS EVER PERFECT". SO they uprooted the seed before it ever got to germinate and SHOW- PROVE that the seed was that which Christ had planted HIMSELF 2000 years ago. A PERFECT SEED THAT WOULD HAVE GROWN INTO A PERFECT TREE PRODUCING HIS PERFECT FRUIT. But nope. PEOPLE NEVER DID CARE ABOUT JESUS AND HIS SEED. So the "project" never even sprouted. CHRISTIANS KILLED IT. "Father forgive them- for they know not what they do". And they still don't. But they WILL- when ever they stop calling JESUS A LIAR. "Perfection"- "ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD". Yet people say PERFECTION EVEN WITH GOD ON YER SIDE- IS IMPOSSIBLE". That directly and unequovically calls JESUS A LIAR. And the seed of PERFECTION WILL NEVER GROW- they keep uprooting it. Go frikkin figure.  =) CHRISTIANS DESTROYING GOD'S SEED. Ya gottsat admit- Satan is way trickier than most people EVER give him credit for. 'PERFECTION IS IMPOSSIBLE". "ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD".Whom do CHRISTIANS BELIEVE? Certainly NOT JESUS. I can't believe I just posted that... I CAN NOT BELIEVE I JUST cried over Jesus. I CAN NOT BELIEVE HOW MUCH I CARE. Y'all say JESUS IS A LIAR- and don't even REALIZE YA DO IT. I can't even BELIEVE I want to prove HE NEVER LIED... Why even bother- no one believes... Just as HE PREDICTED... "Will the son of man find faith in the earth?" When we call God and His son liars... about "all things possible"... Satan has already caused us to sin irreparably. I wonder why they called that book ACTS Acts of what? Then what are the works 4g? ------- it really is sad.. i NEVER knew.. even our town pastor KNOWS AND SENSES something isnt right and is trying to unify the church with other churches. it aint going to happen without Jesus.. you know what comes to mind gordy.. Gordy what you attempted to put together with your Perfection Possible post was awesome... I wonder though Gordy that maybe things were too big too fast.. Jesus took three years to disciple His 12 disciples.. and I don't really recall the disciples having any disciples till after Jesus left them.. lol now I'm not saying that you should die before your vision takes a hold.. lol or even take three years... but I do think that more time should be taken with the 12 that you chose, and then after you spent a period of time with your 12 they then will be equipped to brake away into their 12's... I personally think it would be better time spent in the real world rather than the Internet world, but M&P brought up some great points about shut-ins and people in far away places that we wouldn't normally be able to minister to.. I don't think that your vision should be lost.. if God has set it in both (M&P and Gordy) your hearts to reach the Internet world in this way.. I say get going!... A unified body of Christ is a worthwhile goal.. and I believe that the more we can show the love of Christ in us the closer to the goal we will get.... Banana and toothbrushes... Hi Yendor Jesus was way too tricky for the one we call Satan to overcome- but Satan could and did nearly wipe out Jesus' followers back then. Not because of "salvation" but because he knew he could counterfeit what Jesus did- and make certain it was nearly undetectable that he had done so. Back to Jesus- He also said "my kingdom is not of this world- and He knew why. He also was a prophet, one who had seen the future and knew what was there and why it was there since His Father was showing and telling Him what to reveal and not reveal openly. If He was seeing and KNOWING the future- He most certainly saw us today in 2009 as well and KNEW of out technology, our life styles and the fact that the Gospel in 2009 was not what He had taught and He told us that in several different ways. The internet very closely matches several of the things He spoke of back then in more ways than we recognize yet. It provides us unprecedented speed of communication, the ability to form groups acros the entire globe, an forum for learning that the scribes back then could never dream of, a system of tools that Jesus could not name out loud - for how would it be- if Jesus had said the words telephone, video tape, radio, car, computer or anything else - would those people back then have had justification in saying "He hath a devil"? How about "toaster", refrigerator, jet airplane, credit card or any other device HE HAD TO HAVE KNOWN OF- while speaking 2000 years ago? They would have abandoned Him as surely as if hHe had cast an evil spell on them- which those words and explanations of them would have seemed to be. Yet in today's world, we take all of these things for granted, knowing that we can use them for the Glory of God and in His perfect service to others. We need only look at what Jesus said- to be understanding many of the proper uses of these new tools. For that is part of what we can do as stewards- use tools that we have, to serve God's will perfectly. The concept of anonymity is hand in glove with the internet and with His admonition to "let not your right hand know what you are doing" when feeding the poor, supporting the things God has declared we will do if we LOVE HIM. There is no better example to follow than Jesus. The Gospel as Jesus explained it- is fully adaptable to the internet in every way imaginable. In today's world. But His teachings must be followed- and adapted to the speed and ease of use that no one 2000 years ago enjoyed. If I never knew your name, but knew you were His servant, would it matter if I had the tool- email- to communicate with you and never need be concerned about your true identity? God would know you- I would then trust Him- to keep my word to you even anonymously in His service. Our problem is that Satan has already counterfeited the Gospel, and we have been taught that to follow Jesus and Him alone is a sin. We say we would love to serve God to the best of our abilities- yet deny we can do that or at least do it perfectly. If we stand at the sidelines and do nothing- nothing ever gets done- but standing at the sidelines wishing we could actually WORK FOR GOD EFFECTIVELY. We also turn that statement around and make it TRUTH- when we say I wish GOD WOULD WORK THROUGH ME AND ALLOW ME TO PRAISE HIM AS I FEEL WHAT HE FEELS, AND SEE WHAT HE DOES THROUGH ME. Key word- THROUGH. We could change the world with what we can do- just as Jesus promised- if we would do it the way God wanted it done- through his stewards- with HIS resources- not our own paltry attempts at false obedience to wrong teachings. Yeah- we have far better tools- and will have far better results- when ever He turns us loose to actually DOOOOOOO the Gospel- not just sit and talk about it. "Prepare YE the way of the Lord! Make strait His WAY"- and that is so simple if we follow JESUS in service of THE FATHER. His timing- not ours. It won't work until He says- "GET UP AND DO IT". The world will indeed change- if we have prepared HIS way as we were commanded- in our world today- using the tools He knew were coming. Ain't God just AMAZING? We can get ready- to usher in a whole different world- if only we would believe- that Jesus showed us EXACTLY how to prepare to DO the works it takes- perfectly. When God says GO- will we have to build the car first- or simply hit the gas pedal... think about it... easy work- if we are ready to gitter done. Addendum to "losing my faith"...

easy work- if we are ready to gitter done Noah had to build a boat BEFORE he would make a flood Lot had to get to SAFETY before sodom would be destroyed (he was told to HURRY and not TARRY or he would be part of that destruction!) Yendor.. You are a man who has common sense!! Please STAY HUMAN WITH ME... Please just listen to this lil fact.. Born again believers... IF we are following Jesus ALONE and not allowing mans doctrines to enter in.. Do you realize what the magnitude would be? We would HAVE a paradise here. We would be ushering in the kingdom... Oooh yendor.. can you see "it"? Can you see all of us coming together in ONE ACCORD. No reason at all for division, egos, battles, swords, debates... EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE would have ALL THEIR NEEDS MET! Remember how Jesus was there with NOTHING? And the disciples had very little? Just by their ACTions, they not only fed themself, but fed the multitude.. by instilling a LOVE, reminding everyone there what BROTHERHOOD is all bout.. Now, imagine, EVERYONE here joining hands.. grouping into 1 + 12.. Yes we are grouped off, but we arent broken away from each other.. we all have the same DARN GOAL.. no more mourning, or brokehearts... No more strife... if we WORK and we produce THOSE fruits (which happens to be edible, or usable things for people IN need, the other fruits will become our REALITY............ LOVE, JOY, PEACE, ETC.. BC would change nearly over night.. even the naysayers would finally saw WOW.. and ya know what? We make BELIEVERS by doing something REAL.. It says if you are with an unbeliever and he wants to stay..let him (or her), he might come to believe.. well this isnt some pie in the sky thing! Its tangible and swiftly grown. Its ACTUALLY GOOD NEWS! its not a sermon... the only one we need is the one Jesus did.. I have told so many young kids.. and explained what to do... I said go tell others too.... (our kids today face so much, much more than we have ever had to, so much more hopelessness).. hang on to what I am saying to you... as if it were a locket with a picture of someone you love.. I will send out my basket here at BC, if you and everyone else will too..and you watch yendor.. kindness comes back 100 fold.. everyone will get what they need. what gordy said.. well it does say that satan decieved the WHOLE WORLD. even those who think they are believing correctly.. What causes people to become selfish, lustful, stingy, ... OPPRESSION!! together ... those with even just a tiny bit o faith could start a ball rolling that wont stop.. LOOK AT KATRINA.. One hand didnt know what the other was doing right? WE broke a record. $6.5 billion dollars.. Religion was not interfering with the giving hearts that I KNOW FOR A FACT exists.. no stipulations, no nothing, just people feeling pretty sad about 'what is going on' all it takes is a bit o faith and trust in God.. Jesus said his gospel will be preached all over.. isnt this part of it? "JESUS preached the gospel to the poor".. the beatudes... still waters... larger level? WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. MAUAHAHAHAHA "have seen it in small circles" me too, what makes it stop? We will have, in this time, mothers/brothers/sisters/land/houses AS WELL AS eternal life, IF we seek GODS righteousness and then USE IT lol but ummm it says we will also have persecution.
