Ka-Ching!

Okay, so I was reading some stupid celebrity news and came across an article about Paul McCartney's divorce. It seems Heather Mills could walk away with anywhere between $40 million and $140 million smackers!!

Can you even imagine that kind of money? I can't.

And how much do you think McCartney is worth right now? Somewhere around $1.6 billion!!!

I just can't even fathom that kind of dinero. But it would be cool not to look at the bank statement emailed to you each morning and hold your breath that you still have an open account.

But then again I bet Paul McCartney hasn't done a celebration dance when his direct deposit paycheck goes through a day early!! LOL

I received a check for $9.68 in the mail yesterday. It turns out I actually overpaid a medical bill. (How on earth did that happen?)

Now my payday is on Monday... Yep MONDAY. That means one more weekend without groceries and there is absolutely no mad money, not even a 20 spot in the budget with this check. Things are a little tight right now but we will make it.

It's not that we don't have food. I am blessed like crazy. I have a freezer with meat in it but I am strapped for cash like most of us are the last few days before a pay day and the toll road costs $1.50 each way to work. I can take the freeway but the traffic is double and the time I make coupled with my gas mileage makes the toll road more feasible in many respects.

Well that little $9 check just paid my tolls for the rest of the week and on Monday morning. Wooo Hooo!

I wonder if there is anything left that makes Paul McCartney go, "Wooo Hooo!" ?

Hey I know that day before payday feeling!! To be honest I would rather be broke lil ol me who gets the occasional windfall and jumps for joy, rather than be the rich socialite who has nothing to look forward to coz she's done it all and got it all!

I figured it out that being blessed, is when you run out of something in the cupboard or fridge, there is a replacement! I know what its like to live, just scraping by and now, I only get gov support, but I feel so blessed!! And we ARE blessed!

Just like it takes some rain for us to appreciate the sunshine (or vice versa in some cases ) it takes times of struggle for us to really appreciate what we have. Who knows if Paul or other "wealthy" Americans really have to ever struggle any more. But they have given up the pleasure of "Woo hooo" as well!
Amen Merry!

After I posted this, I really started thinking about all the little things in life that would be lost to me if I had that kind of wealth.

You can't find the really cool smooth rocks if you don't walk the old dirt road. Life may be a rocky road but there are some really cool smooth rocks out there if you look...

God bless you and your kiddos girl. Drop me an email. I want to know how you are doing... Did you get the Chocolate Truffle coffee sample yet? I haven't tried mine but I will this weekend!!

I felt blessed to get out of my marriage having my sanity. I can't imagine being in Heathers shoes. Don't know what it's like to have extra money. But if I'd have had it, I would have paid my ex to leave sooner. LOL

Little bits of money showing up unexpectedly have been blessings from God many times in my life. I developed the habit a long time ago of saying "Thank you Jesus" for every good thing that happens, big or small. He is so awesome!

Oh I make sure if nothing else we have noodles, pb&j and some canned goods in the pantry plus some extra bottled water. If I could get back to canning, then I could stock up for sure!

God bless you and Ed as well!

I remember as a kid, we used to turn in soda pop bottles that we found in for deposit change. Finding a pop bottle on the side of the road was like buried treasure at 15 cents a pop! Whatta blast!

God definitely provides in some of the strangest ways and I don't know why sometimes He still catches me off guard. I don't know why it surprises me so sometimes because I try not to put the Creator of everything in a box but it's always so awesome, even more so when I least expect it. We are blessed indeed!!

I hear ya there Pat!! Big Time!!

The best money I ever spent was paying for my divorce!! God has saved my backside from much in this life. I can't praise Him enough for that!

God always comes through and provides. It's not always in the manner I expect or want but He always provides what I truly need. And it's when I no longer take that provision for granted, I can truly experience the special things in life all the more and praise Him for those very blessings whatever they may be... big or small.
