God is a gentleman, He woos us. We Christians can debate, argue, present etc but it's more by our actions that people are drawn, after seeing our caring for another ( or love in action) they are more inclined to listen. Street witnessing is hard for me, I admire those who can do it. Your post reminds me of a verse 2 Cor 3:18 what talks about 'open face'. I'm no theologian, but to me 'openfacedness' is where we can look in the eye each other with total honesty without holding back. When we get a topic that we or the other person is uncomfortable with a 'veil' comes down, the spark goes out of the conversation on that topic and something valuable is lost. I heard a sermon once on 'idols of the heart', we can have an idol of our philosophy or belief, when that is confronted we can shut down on it. Unless we process it and expose it to the light and deal with it, it could possibly drag us into hell as the sin of it has not been dealt with. I say 'possibly' as I'm not the Judge. So many 'filter' the word of God to only hear the things they want to and not address the parts they cant let go and need to address. In the 4 Spiritual Laws Booklet of years ago there was a picture of a 'circle of self', and a throne in the center, a Christian put Christ on the throne of his life, a carnal christian had himself on the throne. Now this sort of thing is happening with some in the church, hopefully the Lord can work on each one of us (myself included) on issues. it's harder even for the unsaved who feel no obligation to Christ at all, and indeed are offended at feeling they need to humble themselves to Him. But God is good, He's broken through so many lives and changed them. Prayer is a major key, just keep praying. Only difference between me and the unsaved sinner is that I've accepted the gift, I'm still a sinner. God is amazing, to think His Holy Spirit can stand to live inside me, a sinner! Holiness coming down into the garbage dump of my life and then begin to change. He sure gets His hands dirty in the cleaning up of our messes. Totally awesome, blows my mind. God bless ya bro. Good post, got me thinkin' Judgement Day will be interesting.
